Hey Silver, I'm sure you've gotten thousands of comments like this already but I just want to say thank you again for posting all these guides. I would never have been able to do LASO by myself and I was able to get the LASO Master achievement yesterday solely thanks to you. It's been a heck of a ride and I truly appreciate it. Thank you.
Tip: if the elite and jackals stuck in the doorway are being aggressive, try hiding behind those pillars that Silver stands on to shoot with the plasma pistol. Under certain conditions, the door will close and splatter some of the enemies!
Thank you so much! the elites never stood in one place and were jumping and even throwing nades from behind the barricade, but I stood were you told me to and eventually the doors did close and open a few times splattering the elites.
The first 17 Minutes of this guide was this laid back, slow and steady strategy but then starting from 17:30 it became so hectic for 2 minutes. The contrast is so funny lol
I know this is a year late, but I found a couple tricks for this level that aren't in the video that some people might find helpful: 1) You can take a ghost up the ledge where the concussion elite spawns, this makes running to the structure and back much faster. Just get one ghost, park it next to the ledge, then get the other ghost and drive up the first ghost. Takes a little bit of time to set up but it means you can drive quickly to and from the second and third despawns. You can even take the ghost inside the cartographer, but it disappears when you trigger the cutscene if you drive it next to the button, so don't do that. It's probably possible to use it to kill the elites from afar much easier. 2) When you go to kill the elites that you blocked in the door, sometimes they won't cooperate, or will even throw grenades at you if you stand on the little wall things. But if you walk right up to the barricade you made, you can manipulate the door to go up and down and the enemies can be crushed by the door without you having to kill them yourself.
All the covenant were jumping around behind my barricade and would throw nades if I got too close. Somehow tricked the game into closing the door above them a few times and it splattered them all 😂
That freeze is also present on an RTX 2080ti and an i9 9900k. So it's definitely the game's problem. Honestly not complaining though, it's useful. Also those crates were a complete waste of time imo. It's just a couple jackals and elites and the elites quickly figure out how to escape using grenades. I don't see why you wouldn't just carbine them from a distance like I ended up having to. I could have been done with this so much sooner.
Yeah lol, I had to do some improvising on the barricades when one of the elites got through, thankfully I assassinated him and idk what happened but the door housing the other elite closed and crushed him alive.
My shock when I started to shoot plasma at the barricade only to see an Elite jump and stick me with a plasma grenade 😂 And then when I saved and restarted both elites made it over my barricade🤦♂️
With the rectangle prisms, if you want to get them up a ramp and you have no grenades or concussion, do the trick in the video, but punch the top corners. It goes so quick.
Same thing happened to me. Even if I cleared the enemies in the room fast enough for them not to jump over they kept sticking me with grenades. Unfortunately, it ended up being less of a pain in the ass killing them the same way you kill the first 2
For some reason my 2 elites was able to jump the boxes but luckily they did that one by one and i was able to kill melee-kill them. the 4 jackals kept jumping but couldn't do anything.I am not saying silver idea is not correct but maybe i set up the boxes wrongly. So keep that possibility in mind. Thank you silver as always you are awesome
Just likelast time I did Laso, that barricade wasn't able to keep out the elites. They'd noticed me an were continually jumping, eventually managing to jump on top. I just hid behind a pillar and waited for them to pass me so I could pop out and back smack them. Did manage to clear the bridge section much quicker this time than last. 39/46
For the section when you have to cloak and then hop into the banshee, I found it easier and took less damage when I would shoot the grunt sentry on the side of the phantom right before hopping into the banshee.
Remember at the end if your Co-op the ghost despawn trick doesn’t work, we still had to clear out just the bottom section. After jumping on the ledge the other despawn worked.
I think if you are Co-op both players need to be in that area he went to at the same. Usually despawns only work when both players are in the correct positions.
After what felt like +20 tries, I was finally able to pass this mission. Had to take it real slow towards the bridge and end section since for some reason the save & quit glitch doesn't work too well for me at the moment. This game hates me.
Just found out that if you loose the concussion rifle you can jump in that white forerunner structure on the right side of the rock you're standing. You don't slide down and it's easier.
"I dont know if that freeze will ever go away with better hardware" PC player here. i7 10th gen and 3070, 32 GB RAM. It still freezes. it appears to be a game engine related issue rather than a hardware issue.
Excellent guide as always. Is there any chance the normal Legendary guides will come back? I found them extremely useful in Halo CE and 2, and the LASO and speedrun guides don’t always work.
@@harrisonfrench3577 At best, you're just wasting your own time doing stuff that isn't necessary, and at worst those strategies simply do not work. I'm fairly certain there's a fair amount of Halo 2 and 3 LASO tutorials that rely on the Sputnik skull being active for skips. His Halo 4 LASO tutorials are simply inapplicable to a regular legendary run due to the lack of Catch skull.
The barrier is not as effective as it seems, the elites just get stuck in an animation of throwing nades which either instantly hit you with pin point accuracy or blow up the barrier.
@@s3rlrules I got past it probably a day after I originally posted the comment. I got to Reclaimer and MCC decided it didn't want me to start Reclaimer and kept crashing lol. I'll get back to finishing H4 soon hopefully as its my only game left in the MCC to finish LASO
5:59 - this technique no longer works (blocking off doorway). Elites jump continuously till they can get out, even had 2 jackals get out as well. It does somewhat delay them but honestly if you keep your distance you can take them out without them shooting back. One elite I used carbine, the other I snuck up on and had a melee dance till I could assassinate him. Hate 343 for updating these games to make LASO harder. Thanks silver, with your guides I've done CE and ODST so far. Doing halo 4 right now.
Playing on the Series X now, even though I get the “freeze screen” in the very beginning to despawn the first wave of enemies, they’re not despawning. Help?
Nope, you get credit for destroying those plasma turrets...and you'll notice they respawn every time you leave the load zone then come back so you can keep doing it repeatedly for free points.
@@EmergencyProgram314 I assume it's due to a coding quirk with how enemies are classified. The skull in halo 2 probably detects for just entity destruction rather than specific enemy units.

Thanks man. For me, I had to go to the very right of the barricade to get the door to shut.
LASO: HAHAHA, I'm invincible!!
Scorpion: (Return back in to mission beginning)
LASO: WAIT, THAT 'S ILLEGAL!!!
Why can't ever LASO level be this easy! 😂

I dealt with the same thing
Hey everyone. Pro tip. Use Camo to make the jackals lower their shields for an easier headshot!
damn bro twice now those elites trapped in the door straight BEAMED me with a sticky. fucking fastest pitch unreactable i swear to god LOL

Lots of back tracking in this one
