I actually love videos on collectors explaining the cost and why. You shouldn't apologize for how you like to collect.

I got lucky basically. I was one of the original owners of the trashion alley bodies (I’m unfortunately the one who was ripped off in that trashion alley video). I had plans to just customize them with Pinkie Cooper heads all along. Then after that video in 2022(?) my friend’s connection in China found the head but she didn’t want to sell. I told my friend my offer if she ever wanted to sell and eventually she contacted me and said she wanted to sell! She wanted under half of what I offered to I eagerly paid it and… then I got her! It’s just because I knew the right people essentially. And I’m very grateful!
My most expensive doll was also around 600 lol. It's a reborn baby doll she is currently in storage and I bought her when I was in high school so all my money from my job was able to go towards dolls instead of bills lol
i loved pinkie coopers😖 their eyes mesmerized me. i used them as kids when i played with my dolls. i had three and gave them away i regret it so badly but i still have 1 of my pinkie cooper pup pets still
My most expensive doll is my 17-inch limited edition Rapunzel. It's the original one with her long blonde hair and purple dress. I spent $740 and felt like throwing up. I justified it by reminding myself how I'd admired her for years and knew I would get her someday. Her dress is beautiful, I find the face hideous, and I am happy I now own it and could give it to my 10th anniversary Rapunzel doll.
my most expensive rn is 400$ for the briar rose 60th anniversary doll. my grail is def the wedding one, but geez there all like 1.5k, gonna have to save & hopefully snipe one for around 1.2. praying the disney doll market collapses
The most expensive I bought was £75 which was a collector Rainbow High and brand new! I own some secondhand holiday barbies but I got both for a steal. Most of the bigger or more impressive dolls I have were really good deals. Your collection is absolutely incredible! I admire it so much!

If you look up any of these dolls I paid FAR less than the going rate for them. I am very vocally against supporting price gougers and resellers. (The term you’re using is offensive so I no longer use it). But I think you are fundamentally misunderstanding what that term means in collecting spaces. It is not price gouging to sell a limited edition doll for more than what you paid 7+ years after she came out. That’s just a natural price change. Also, resellers are only supported if you buy something immediately after release. Me buying something ten or more years after its release for the going rate isn’t that deep. Things get more expensive over time because of scarcity.
From what I’ve heard “ball-jointed-dolls” are also just usually more expensive because they’re hard to make and are made out of quality materials + have real clothing. I’m also a huge fan of madoka magica, those lovely dolls seem veryy worth it!
