- Caleb “C.J.” Whisnand Jr., a 5-week old baby, was found dead in Lowndes County days after he was reported missing in Montgomery. His father, Caleb Michael Whisnand, has been charged with capital murder in his death.

I don't think much families would've offered to take the baby. Babies are expensive. The economy isn't too good right now. People having kids during the covid shutdown are low IQ.

I am old and on a fixed income but I would have taken him as I know my church would step up and help with whatever that baby needed. I've cried all morning..breaks my heart n

The love of many waxing cold. This is a cruel world in which we live. How could a father kill his child. So sad.
It's called the absence of Jesus Christ in our lives these days! compare to when the US was a Christian (or at the very least, a God-based society) versus today which is a God-less society...what has changed? the death, suicide, murder, violence, hatred, racist, deception rates have sky-rocketed and the loving, good, kind, moral, giving, pure, truthful, wonderful communities have all plummeted into the ground. Maybe we should begin to look at that data and make changes starting there! Once God was removed, and the devil moved IN...our world, our citizens, our communities have all changed for the absolute worst and maybe, just maybe...we should remove those bad things by changing the way we live and by adding back in that which is good and pure and wholesome and made the US (and the world but I'm speaking only of the USA right now since I live in the USA) a safe, wonderful, great place to live.

I personally know the grandparents that live here in Wyoming. Their daughter (the mother) had gotten in a fight with him (the father) and threw him out. Later he went to the gas station and thats when she knew the baby was missing and called the police. I hope the father rots in hell he was on meth when he took the child and killed him. May that baby rest in peace
The mum should be arrested too for acting like she didn't know what happened. She clearly knew.

Only the father was arrested at this point. I'm sure there's a reason and it's possible the mother didn't know. I know she may have seemed off but she just lost her baby that she carried for the last 10 months
As much as I hate to say it, it was pretty obvious the parents knew what happened. That was one of the most guilty press conferences I've ever seen, they could barely string a sentence together, no tears, fake worry, hands over her face, no real concern for their baby - who is good knows where, couldn't remember last time they saw him and no photos! Who doesn't have a million photos of their new baby. I have a new puppy and my photos are all of the dog!

I’m here because I just watched the news conference and thought the parents seemed off and GUILTY. Went to look around for more info and found this. Sad to say I knew it. Dads body language and that he was on methamphetamines during the press conference told me everything. How the hell did they have to look at each other and double check when the last time they saw the baby was?
I never saw the sadness in these parents if anything you can tell they wanted no part of the press conference the dad especially and I am almost 100% sure the mom knows what happened

it truly is easy for a loving, sober minded parent. For a anger fueled meth head it is a whole different story. Its apparent to me that the mother not only suffered from a drug addiction but she was also a victim of abuse by the male. A tragic story with an even more tragic ending.

I really admire the professionalism of the officers involved in this and similar cases. I can't think of actually dealing with someone who had murdered a baby without being overcome with rage and doing something to put them out of our collective misery. The parents press conference must have played a big part in the father being at least questioned further. He had guilt written all over him, he couldn't end the conference fast enough and I loved how the Sheriff kept him hanging when he was looking for an out during it.

People across the country do their job well, but don't get to go on national television to crow about it.
But I'll cut them some slack, since we often hear how emotionally difficult cases that involve children are to deal with for law enforcement. So maybe they needed this equivalent of a "victory lap" to help ease some of that emotional stress. Good job, guys!

What is happening with our babies! There are so many cases right now, either missing, or daddy killed then, or mama..its like a sick and twisted trend! These babies are innocent, they are our future. The general sentence for this horrendous crime should be life in jail. We should never allow anyone to hurt a helpless, sweet child.
Just leave the baby at the Nusery if you can’t handle it or are not ready, or you just know that there are many people wanting to be a loving devoted parent.
