The most mad week of my life . Boats were putting 60-70” class fish in the boat on back to back to back to back days for almost a whole week. Was able to get out there for one of the days and me and the boys got one of our own. 71” 185lbs. Will never forget this season!
Great video guys! It’s refreshing to see someone (1) properly bleed out their catch for optimal quality and (2) Release the rest by gaffing in the mouth and taking the time to revive them. Well done!
My dad and I love this video, we are from New York. It was a great thing to watch together on the night before his birthday. Please comment and wish him a happy birthday
I remember fishing the Hudson River 30 years ago as a kid and seeing just tons of dead fish floating everywhere, I never got a single bite. Dobbs Ferry, NY
0:54 I really hate how Billy pushed Josh out of the way when he got the bite... he literally told him to move and took it away from him. That's FUCKED up.
@@YotaakGFX the tuna out here aren’t sushi grade and most of these guys can’t sell them, they’re getting $1 to $2 a pound right now given the volume of fish. Most boats are recommending catch and release.
But it’s also Billy’s rod that got the bite, Billy hooked the fish so does he not deserve the opportunity to reel in his fish? Could he have handled it better? Sure but I don’t think he’s in the wrong by any means
I got my bluefin the same day as you guys tight lines guys. Also I think this could be a reoccurring bite they have placed a moratorium on the bunker a few years back since then we have seen more and more of them being caught. Along with all the dolphins and sharks coming closer and closer to the beach. We have a remarkable amount of bait wouldn’t be surprised for a bite to come back after water cleans up from hurricane.
You can catch bluefin inshore off NJ every year. Not jumbos but nice ones. I'm holding one < kinda worried now that every schmuck in the world knows about it.
Great video I never thought of catching blue fin tuna in New York. Maybe you should try to fish in fort Myers beach Florida sometime. And I also love the crocs and the merch.
Nice Josh .. man I used to fish on the Jersey side and used to wonder about the huge striped bass in there , never taught bout tuna ... definitely a good one today bro 👍🎣🎣🐟🐟
Not criticizing, but for the sake of the fish wouldn’t cutting the line at the hook for a quick release be better for the fish that mouth gaffing and swimming them? Great bite and video for sure!
I’ve only heard whispers of bluefin within sight of the city and always assumed they were mistaken, must have been albacore or something, but amazing to see in real life! Geez... Now I just need to save enough $$ for a boat...
Awesome video I appreciate learning from your videos everytime and that is what I enjoy the most as a very young angler and RUclipsr so being able too learn something everytime is just amazing 👍
once in a life time... Yeah 1 mile off the beach in California were bluefin tuna... Boat is in the shop for a new engine thats on order. missed the bite
I have caught so many blue fin tuna in my life but never have I ever thought I would be doing it in New York City of all places. What an epic trip!
It's great.. I like watching you guys fishing. In Vietnam now there is an epidemic for nearly 2 months and I can't go fishing..
This time of year is the best time to fish tuna in NYC. Mahi as well. From LI out to the canyons
We have had an epic season here this year, and even better last year!
I didn’t even think Tuna were there 😂
@@action-packedadventures4056 That tuna is great for Sushi

you gotta get you a 1000 pounder man they are sick
The way things have been going for me I would probably have better luck going for Bluefin off the surf than Striped Bass.
SAME🤣 from Massachusetts
Buy a boat
Me too!
Big up capt Richie , great guy ,
This year has been crazy for all types of fishing, definitely a legendary year

Glad to hear you guys enjoyed the video!
Very very nice channel bros
Really appreciate the releases. Need more of that!
only allowed to keep one fish less than 73" so that $20K fine probably played a big factor
Legally they could only keep one of that size fish. If they would have found some smaller ones they could have kept those
Got ya
When a good video pops out a minute ago, you know that you will not be alone to watch it.

Grew up on the shores of the Raritan across from NYC. This happens every couple of years, definitely rare and usually a tightly kept secret.
Yup, but not anymore
Idiots like these guys... destroy fisherys for content and money
Yup couldn't wait a few more weeks to post it up atleast and didn't have to say how far out and would have been fine
Nah not like this. It’s no longer ghost hunting, there were so many more this year all the way east to Southampton and montauk
Over 50 years ago it was an annual month long bite around the Ambrose lightship. Thousands of giants every season
3 miles off long branch NJ in Sept oct you can get em but they're sketchy in seas of menhaden
NYC has it all!! If you go a bit upstate you have the best salmon and trout.
0:54 I really hate how Billy pushed Josh out of the way when he got the bite... he literally told him to move and took it away from him. That's FUCKED up.
Is it messed up? Yes. Is it his boat? Yes. Does he want to make a fat paycheck? Yes
