I personally think it was stupid to reduce it to 100 from 750. If anything they should have expanded it to 1000 or 1250 with no All Might. Fewer heroes and more villains is never a good combo. For example, that meatball guy and that girl’s school that almost beat Froppy etc are heroes we need now. Question since you seem to be an MHA master: it’s know that plant-hair girl was going to be in 1A, but he figured out right away she was a pain to draw, so he put her in 1B. Do you know which of 1A replaced her, the last he put in the class?
If I was a student, the fact that this was only the first half of the exam would already mentally exhaust me, I can't even imagine having the energy for the second half after it. But to be fair, having stamina to continue and the material covered in the second half of the exam are extremely important for hero work.
Iida just has a great dynamic with everyone is his class, doesn't he? "No, keep twinkling. Whatever that means." Classic, Iida might be the FUNNIEST character in the show. 🤣🤣
Iida is the classic straight man. The fact that he is so serious while everyone else has some level of comedic aspect to their personality allows him to be juxtaposed against other to hilarious results.
i love all of 1-a so much they all have they're moments ( some OBVIOUSLY more than others ) and each of those moments showcase how true of a hero they are or how much of a great fond family they've become
Hagakure's "flash bang" style move is still so cool to me all these years later. It makes sense that her body is bending light around her, making her invisible. The flash bang is just extending that power, and sending the light outward! May not make 100% scientific sense, but its close enough!
Maybe it's cause you're reacting to both shows simultaneously, but this episode made me realize something: Aoyama was kinda like Zenitsu from Demon Slayer this episode. They both have cowardly tendencies, but they don't let that stop them from acting heroically. Aoyama's actions earlier this season demonstrate that, when he came in CLUTCH and prevented the League of Villains from taking Tokoyami.
Aoyama's move was selfless rather than odd, in order to help Iida since he deserved to pass the exam, while he also felt like he was eligible a burden to him, thankfully, he ended up bridging the rest of the class together
0:16 in the subtitles it was funnier to me because Deku expected an insult or being ignored and Kacchan complimented him and Deku didn't believe it at all (like Fanboy saying "he noticed me!") but I immediately heard Kacchan talking about how he had done the same thing. "gifted by him" and was shocked.
Alright we’re finishing off high stakes dodgeball today! As much as I love hearing Mera commentate on 1500 kids explode EVERYTHING like it’s just another Monday morning isn’t an absolute mood, I’m happy they didn’t try too hard to have EVERYTHING be explored on this field. I did dance around Yo Shindo’s personality a bit but I think this is a good scene to call it out. The guy is an aggressively over competitive…chess player? I wouldn’t call him a dark trait or anything but his emotions are really planned out when he just has his own self interests at heart. The only reason I don’t call him one is because he’s not using his teammates despite this. They trust he won’t backstab anyone on their team and they even check on him when he’s through a lot of acting like it wears on him a bit to use hallow emotions. Ms. Joke’s kids from Tetsubutsu academy are an odd squad I can never quite put into words. Now we got Teacher’s Pet Shishikura facing Bakugo, Kirishima, and Kaminari. Setting aside how HORRIFYING malleable playdoh flesh is I do find his mindset interesting. Willingly failing the test by choice to insure reckless, subpar, cowardly, or egocentric students that don’t carry their title with as much weight as possible with All-Might gone is something I wasn’t expecting. He’s not doing it to over-achieve but he’s acknowledging by taking this path he shouldn’t gain his license either by keeping people from progressing on a career path they desire. He COULD be on a needless high horse but because he’s holding himself to the same standard it makes it more complex as well. Kaminari gets a VERY long time coming win through his new equips. It’s no taser sword or lightsaber but this new system of aiming gear is HUGE for him. He didn’t overdo himself, he stands up for Bakugo, and even has enough brain power to call out issues with Shishikura’s mindset. He can make all sorts of elaborate traps and nets if he uses it correctly and as usual, ELECTRICITY IS BROKEN. Disrupting the human body’s signals to itself can do SO MUCH and I’m betting he can even turn off quirks if he sees where they are used from. And as he gets better stamina, he can actually gain more power. This kid has CRAZY potential. And just as a reminder he’s Mineta’s buddy too and isn’t incompetent much like Mineta despite a LOT of character and even power issues. (So let’s see how bad the double standard is for these two. Cough, cough it’s a BIG one) But let’s give him his win. He earned it. And even got Bakugo and Kirishima to pass on top of it. We got Uraraka, Deku, and Sero snaring everyone. Not only is it a great combo that honestly just gives Uraraka all the glory as the boys run for their lives. Apparently Sero can run NEAR Deku speeds. Even non-quirk parts of the body can get so jacked they move as fast as cars. SERO being a big noticeable one was not expected. He wasn’t swinging or nothing. He just SPRINTED. But apparently he can’t jump. I know he didn’t swing because he knew the rocks were weightless and not anything that wouldn’t have a WILDLY different effect. And his tape is now so sturdy even some 3rd years can’t pull themselves up. (They were wanderers without their leaders in all likelihood. They didn’t get their licenses in earlier attempts for a reason.) It’s also good to see Deku although HESITATE from eliminating other people not wanting to hurt them, knows what he has to do too. (Deku is the kind of kid who WOULD take that into account) GREAT moment for all 3 in this. Uraraka of course getting THAT much of the field THAT easily is definitely the MVP part of the move. (Because now we know she can AIM HER GRAVITY.) Deku getting himself off the field and expecting MORE bullying from Bakugo after passing is a sad go to. But they REALLY haven’t improved all that much between the two of them specifically. But Bakugo has been thinking about something else. Bakugo was listening when Deku season 1’d an explanation of OFA to him and it appears he’s starting to give it thought again. All-Might said he wasn’t going to take you seriously. But Bakugo isn’t going at this from a Deku is smarter than he looks mindset. Bakugo adores All-Might as a hero and has noticed the two of them communicate strangely. This could be a BIT more dangerous than Bakugo decking poor Deku. And if he’s thinking about this as much as he seems, it may be even more since Bakugo has been fighting a lot more reactively over proactively. Hmmm. Then we end off the test on a countdown. Not of the spots disappearing chances but of EVERY SINGLE KID from Class A pulling together to finish. Lead by Iida and Aoyama of all people. Iida talks about how he would help as he tried to pass, but I’m pretty sure he ACTUALLY meant he would try to get ALL 19 kids NOT him to pass 1st and help them get there based on his actions. (So he’s doing what I would expect of Deku. But he’s doing everything to live up to Ingenium) Iida in the background has been running around in the open and shouting. Likely to distract people from his classmates. (Iida is DEFINITELY no longer 35 mph 3rd gear and 100 mph for reciproburst. These people’s feats around him are WAY too high for Iida to not be SIGNIFICANTLY faster these days.) And Aoyama is so touched by this he decides to try and sacrifice himself instead. At this point all the major chosen team leaders are either eliminated or passed already. So the teams are no longer coordinated. And that is EXACTLY what the kids needed. And Aizawa was more confused that there were that many in his class LEFT. He silently panicked to himself when he found out. He has HIGH expectations for this exam even though I’m pretty sure this is literally the 1st time UA got all 20 kids through with their early target. And it even got MERA hyped. The plans got much less complex as the test went on and that just helped lead to everyone’s pay grades easier. And you end off on a lovely celebration. Mass terrorism to create a large rescue mission. And the ONLY rescue class the kids have been seen doing was at the USJ. The kids do NOT have anywhere NEAR as much rescue training under their belts. And this one is a MUCH more important to pass than dodgeball I assure you. But that’s for next time.
@@tobofu5978 Kaminari could blow out a city with the hero body training progression. I’m saving all the speculating and guesswork for a different arc though. You know the one.
14:25 No, he said he wasn't surprised Deku passed with the quirk he has. It was a compliment. That's why Deku was surpised. Then he called it a borrowed power, letting Deku know he believes him about getting the quirk from someone else now.
I get that you hate Mineta but the ability to restrain people is literally one of the MOST useful quirks for a hero in a society where they're heavily regulated. I'd argue far more useful than just having a tail.
What Bakugo says to Midoriya after they pass isn't a repeat, he says two things. The first "Guess I shouldn't be surprised with that quirk you got", which is what surprised Midoriya then as he is thinking, Bakugo says "looks like you made that borrowed power your own".
Maybe it's just my knowledge of future episodes speaking, but I think Bakugo's comment to Deku was basically Bakugo saying "I figured out that All Might gave you that quirk, and now that he's powerless, it's all yours." Like he's not only saying 'I figured out your secret' but also trying to show a little respect to All Might's power, and maybe blaming Deku a little for All Might's retirement.
He doesnt blame Deku for All Might's retirement. He at the very least respects All Might's decision. This is just him being coy and saying "Guess it makes sense you'd pass with the power you have". Which is a slightly backhanded compliment and then further compliments him by saying he's making it his own.
Apparently due to overwhelming shipping of Deku and Bakugo the creator made the two kids from the other class, the girl with yellow hair and can pull herself into her own body and the dark haired boy with earthquake powers are a couple.
So apparently, Grand and the turtleneck girl are a couple. And I've watched all of mha twice but idk how everyone knows that. Also, start of the weeked, and brand new episode. Always feels great
