After 30 years, it's about time these guys got recognition! Their TV appearance in 1989 was amazing. The bass player, Suzuki Kenichi, has some amazing facial expressions and I love his voice. He writes the music and the guitar player, Wajima Shinji, writes the lyrics (for most of their song anyway). Wajima is a great guitarist and he has some videos on RUclips showing how to play. Maybe the most amazing part about them is that they have persevered for all those years.
This song works me over. It's heavy to the point of being haunted. These guys obviously have some life experience, so you'd think that they should have it figured out, but in the lyrics they are asking to every god they can think of for just a brief reprieve from lifetime of failure and disappointment. During the bridge, they talk about how everyone has hopes and dreams... The fact that they are still alive suggests that even hardship is worth enduring, and the fact that none of the gods have answered suggested that we as humans must be the source of mercy. All done tongue in cheek. Kanami won the first round and lost the second round setting up the deciding face-off. What l see in this parody is that a great guitar player who has been in the same band for 30 years is tied with a young lady who has been in her band less than seven and she is already on the same level as one who might have been her teacher. Think about that for a second. In the faux battle both seem to be enjoying themselves and l would say if they weren't friends they certainly were friendly with each other.
Japan has been making killer metal as long as I can remember... (which is really only Loudness and EZO), but IMO, what I've had the honor of hearing is on par with bands from most other countries.
Check out Sigh (Doom/Death), Gonin-Ish(Progressive/Death), Asterism(Thrash/Shred by 3 teenagers)....so many great bands... Peace! Cheers!!!
If you like this give a listen to some of their song "Ghost Train."
ありがとう❤

Legend called forth a Samurai from his retirement and along with an undead Monk and a Greaser, bade them "Make Music"; they did, and it was good.

If you, Holy Angels, do exist in this universe
Will you bless me on the cheeks?
With my painful effort never paid off
I've just been standing in the shadow
Will the day come someday when I can fly high in the sky?
Will the day come when I can see the Sun?
Tell me, Holy Angels

If you, Divine Goddess, are staying hidden somewhere
Why don't you smile at me on my forehead?
I've never tasted the nectar of victory
I’ve never succeeded in love
Will the day come when I can get intoxicated by the victory?
Will the day come when I can embrace love?
Tell me, Divine Goddess

If you, Lord Buddha, really exist in some place
Please have mercy on me, too
Having nothing precious in my possession
Desolated
Isolated
I've been living my life with a series of failures
Will the day come when I can totally be satisfied?
Will the day come when my dreams come true?
Tell me, Lord Buddha

Thank you!!!!!
Yup I had the same reaction 😂😂
Yeah, Japan has some of the best artists in music and film but because Japanese artists are very focused on the Jpanese market you barely hear anything about them IF you don't have a Japan-affinity. Damn, Ningen ISu are more then 2 decades in the business and just NOW they reach the western market. Bloody hell, looking forward to see them life in Berlin 19.02.20.
