A few points brought to you at 3am by my sleep deprived, over caffinated, hyperfixated brain:
-the developers have said that medic isn’t a nazi. They specifically didn’t make him a nazi because, in their words, it would be “too easy”, which I actually agree with them on. (Pulling my own fan interpretation here, its possible that he resisted the nazis similar to how heavy’s family resisted the soviets, and that contributes to why heavy and medic are so close.) either way, he was still educated in Germany at a time when the hippocratic oath was more of a hippocratic suggestion.
-engineer is an old white southern man. I grew up surrounded by old white southern men. Best I can do is hold out hope that dr conagher is different.
-i may love him but I can’t defend scout tbh, the pedo thing is technically canon as it came from valve** (he hit on high schoolers when in his twenties. *Still very bad, don’t get me wrong,* but just calling him a pedo with no further context leads you to assume worse)

technically it never specifically said scout was there to hit on high schoolers, just to "pick up chicks". It's possible he was there to hit on older siblings of the high schoolers, who would be closer to his age, or maybe even the coaches if they were female and about his age. (i am in denial about my tf2 blorbos being problematic)
