- For many reasons (that I decided not to spill out of nowhere), I’m so happy to hear Rin’s stance on the view of “a straight person can just turn gay” that many Chinese people have.
Like I saw the clip and immediately started editing it even though I had much more IRL things and other drafts waiting to be finished LOL (it was also after finishing this that I remembered how I planned on uploading a different vtuber clip since I’d done like 6 clips of Rin in a week, but here he is again LMAO)

I'm really happy that he talks about this topic so passionately and really shows his stance. The "straight turns gay" belief is a common belief in many Asian cultures that just pushes people into the closet more
Same , i was soo happy, cuz he is one of my favs that i watch to learn mandarin and its really nice to see him talking about it seriously , it made me a bit stuffy watching this cuz so many people around me think this way.
Asian culture is often very conservative and more so with those living in Asia. It always makes me so happy whenever I see someone talk so passionately and sensibly. I followed him because of your clip of his singing, but this clip makes me like him so much more.

I don't know who is this Rin, but i'll start to looking for him. It's not because the LGBTQ, but i love the way he's thinking. From the Asian eyes, when i watch him talking this i feel 'hell yeah! Why are you care if someone turning gay or what, if they are, it's not because who they hanging out with, but deep inside Themselves they already are, it's up to us who we want to hanging out with' it's like telling the first place in class to not hanging out with the last. They still the same human being please.

@@shaq8934 “it’s them that have an issue” means it’s them that have this negative habit that they need to figure out themselves, not you, while “that’s their problem” means it’s their inconvenience, not yours.
To say it in a more broad way, the first one’s pointing out that they have a problem in themselves/it’s their fault, while the second one says it’s not necessarily a problem that they have in themselves/it might be the circumstances that resulted into their inconvenience towards this thing, but even if it isn’t their fault, you shouldn’t be the one who feels bad about it.
It’s confusing, because in mandarin, it’s said the same way, with the same words. It’s just interpreted differently with context. But in english, there are better words for it than that, that’s why I think the og translation is correct as well.
It’s a very (and I mean VERY) subtle difference, so it doesn’t matter that much and it won’t change the meaning of the sentence, but if we really want to be nitpicking, the commentor is correct, because the intentions in this video is he’s calling out their bullcrap, and that it’s their fault, circumstances aside.
