Japan’s countryside and regional towns are amazingly beautiful, I encourage everyone to take their amazing JR to visit as many as you can. Watching this bring back so many fond memories.
it's been 3 years since the last time I traveled to Japan, everything in this video is still very strong in my memory, the peacefulness of Hakone, the busy streets of Shinjuku, the harmony of the environment, can't wait to travel to Japan again
When you think you've missed the train: Reality is often disappointing- When the conductor opens the door for you: *This, does put a smile on my face* Shimonada Station was opened on 9 June 1935 as the terminus of the then Yosan Main Line which had been extended westwards from Iyo-Kaminada. It became a through-station just a few months later on 6 October 1935 when the line was extended to Iyo-Nagahama.
Thanks for taking us to the famous scene of 千と千尋の神隠し , 瀬戶內海is very beautiful. Great editing and video, hopefully can visit Japan very soon. Stay safe and take care!😊
I've been to this train station and it's a tourist attraction for train station enthusiasts and/or Ghibli fans. I was staying in Matsuyama, so my travel time was a little less. If you're interested in out of the way train stations, here are a few: Okoba Station in Kumamoto, Tsubojiri Station of Dosan Line in Tokushima, Doai Station in Gunma (underground), Tsutsuishi Station (underground) in Niigata.
You know you're on a Japanese train if it has a vending machine! Shame it wasn't working though. According to the Nagoya Railroad, the actual inspiration for the Spirited Away train was the Meitetsu Tokoname Line when it was flooded during Typhoon Vera in 1959. The train in the movie looks similar to the Meitetsu 3400 series train that used to operate on the line. Nagoya Railroad cleared this up after people at a shipyard near Shimonada were complaining about the tourists trespassing onto the property and how they were attracted to the shipyard's "submerged train tracks" which aren't train tracks but just tracks for transporting equipment
Thank you for sharing the info. You know that very well! I have seen that picture before too, and I thought it looked really similar to the Spirited Away train.

Only creator of spirited away had got first to feel the beauty before it getting famous becoming tourist and local attraction. If this was in my country i would sit there for hours without phone just to feel myself. Thanx for your hardwork.
Ah.. Japan is sooo amazing. Been to Japan many times but only in the cities.. Like Tokyo, Yokohama, Fukuoka, Osaka. I should try their countryside but many of their local transport are in Japanese fully. It's hard to navigate 😩. Even via Google map some places are in Japanese language only

The last minute u said the line was in danger, man I hope the situation will be better. I'm in the Philippines, the state railway reopened the old line in the provinces between Laguna and Quezon. The operational line is only 50 kilometers but when the weekend hits, its so many locals ride on it even to the point when the terminal station was already swelling of commuters mainly for tourism in both cities of San Pablo and Lucena (located in the southern part of Luzon island). One thing the main advantage is that the ticket price is way too cheap, farthest fare price is 50Php (or 100 yen). I believe this is the best way to travel in cities by train, I wish more rail lines to be created in the near future (not on cities but outside of metropolis).
