Thanks again for your fantastic unbiased video. I have been really struggling to compare Apples with Apples and PCs (excuse the pun). With the upgradability and the flexibility of the PC for the same price point, I think I know where I should spend my money… Your comparison of the different Mac Minis with a comparatively priced PC was exactly what I have been looking for…
the $1300 pc should be stronger, pair with rtx 4070 pls to be fair(for gaming)
pc is better
been waiting for this type of video/.thank you
Love this channel. A very well detailed video. Thank you!
I think people now understand the true value of PC vs. MAC...I remember when you talked about why the M1 Ultra is overrated compared to similarly priced PC...yes, there were synthetic tests, but in this video there is a real comparison, even when we add to all that that it was used 3050 graphics, there is no dilemma what to choose as an editing machine..
This is great, yes windows seems to be a great option. Would love to see a few playback scrubbing and fusion work!
YOUR CHANNEL NEEDS TO REACH 1 MILLION SUBS ASAP!!!!
SO GREAT CONTENT AS ALWAYS
Finally i find video which i am looking for??
Thank you so much for video.
thanks ..so detail knowledge
Interesting video, thanks. Personally if it is a desktop, I would go with the PC as I prefer windows filing system and experience when it comes to editing, Now, if we are speaking about Laptops, I would use the MacBook as the battery life, lack of fan noise and overall build is on another level (it is annoying to edit with Mac OS though as the filing system is not my fav.)
100% agree!
Exactly
I spent 2 years editing on Mac, its final cut pro software seems super good and it was the only reason why it was there, I ended up going back to PC, for me it was a problem to be able to manage the files, it took me more time there and also not being able to update the files components . On the other hand, in Windows the file manager is great. And today I was wanting to go for a mini m2 pro again because they praised its power a lot, but thanks to these videos and your comments I have decided that I will continue on PC :) I will use the same processor as the video with an Rtx 3060
This is so helpful! I've never thought about the differences between the file system.
Interesting. The biggest issue with the Mac is if anything goes bad you are out of luck and the whole machine goes back to apple and hopefully can make it back without a complete reinstall. I have had too many power supply, ram , drive and mobo issues over the years to rely on a single machine. At least with a pc you can usually be up and running on less than a day of you have access to spare parts
only if you wanna work on PC's all the time, I hate working on my computer, so I drop mine off, and it gets fixed or replaced. Done. You can't do that with a PC as easily.
@@chrisw443 Guess that depends on where you are, if I include the local microcenter there are at least 4 or so places I can think of in my area where I could take my PC to be fixed if I couldn't do it myself. That has saved me from being the IT department for all my non pc savvy friends.
Well it never happens in reality. Apple products are high quality compared to windows
@@simply6162 wish that was true. I had 2 macbooks go in for repair and it cost a lot. That when parts could be replaced. Now it's a whole new motherboard with cpu, GPU, ram and SSD. Apple uses AMD GPUs in my Mac Pro so it's the same as windows. All the parts are made by TSMC in Taiwan which builds for nVidia and AMD as well. Only Intel build their own parts
@@simply6162 apart from surface pro/studio, Microsoft don't make PC parts as windows is licensed so your wrong you apple fan boy who's sour
Pre 2012 Apple products were no better in quality when compared to other PC part manufacturers and items could be changed if one broke but now, a small part of the main logic board is made in such a way so that it breaks forcing a repair, Louis Rossman an engineer who specialises in repairing Apple products, has always stated, Apple do this on purpose to make more money and that's why he was speaking at the senate hearing backing for right to repair bill.
You can buy motherboards at $300 dollars which has vrms/capacitors rated to last decades if you run them in the right environment. i have LGA775 and LGA 1366 motherboards to run my legacy software which were checked recently and the electrical engineer who checked them was astonished that everything was in excellent condition even after being used 8-10 hours consistently for 15 years.
I'll go with pc thanks for making comparison video .
I really like your channel, I would be happy if you could also do comparisons of games on a variety of graphics cards.
Sorry but never gonna happen, there's plenty of gaming channels out there and gaming hardware reviewers, I'm focused on creators ;)
I chose a windows PC intel 13500 - upgraded my pc so I could use all m older ssd+Hdd power supply cabinet and graphic tablet etc. I prefer PC because I find it easier to attach a variety of devices. I also went with a ddr5 motherboard. I find the PC more flexible as can decide what exactly to update and what not. Also PC parts in India are cheaper than some of the apple variants in India. Easier to install other software that I require
Good review. May be also interesting to see how many watts eat each device .On this field PC may be will be looser. But of course it's upgradability and sometimes very attractive pricing is a bonus. p.s Adobe Premiere may be just not optimised well for M line of processors as Da Vinci do. IMHO.
As a curiosity, why would that matter much? It must be like 2-3 more dollars per month. The sound level might matter more. So does the flexibility.
@@FlorinArjocu It doesn't, people are literally finding out that Apple has straight up lied to them about the performance of the m series and will still try to find silver linings because apparently that's a courtesy we afford evil corporations now.
@@FlorinArjocu yes on a laptop it matters, not here
In the sense of upgrading the PC is better, but if for compactness and aesthetics, then the MAC
I am running a 12700K w/ 32gigs of ram and a 12gig 3060, while I am happy with the exporting speeds, I experience plenty of hiccups with playback (Sony A7IV 10bit 4:2:2 H265 and DJI Mini 2) while I tested a base model M1 MacBook Air that handled the playback with ease. I am considering moving to a mac, because the playback is more important for me, then the exporting speed. How do you find the playback on your PC?
why would you shoot in h265 on a sony? h265 requires a lot of cpu power to decode for editing. shoot in h264 and that system will be fine.
@@kpx976 cuz it's only option to shoot in 10 bit 4.2.2 .
It most definitely is not lol@@mex5341
So essentially M2 Pro is a 3050 gpu wise but with better efficiency. Still not a bad deal!
Not really, the GPU power is much better on the 3050 even at performance per watt... just encoding is slightly better on the M2 Pro :)
@@theTechNotice The key measure I want to know is how many watts per minute did you use to render that 31 minute job on the pc and how many watts for the 2x more on the Apple. The cost to operate these machines is hardly ever addressed.
@@sammavitae114It only matters if they run 24/7. Otherwise you end up paying 1-2-3 extra bucks with the PC. That is what, a cheap coffee?
@@FlorinArjocu Helping the planet in the process, that's something
@@stephanemignot100 Sure. But then we should also never charge the devices wirelessly as it is inneficient compared to cable charging etc.
I dont want overclock. Is 13700 would be great for video editing ?
Great video, bonus on Windows desktop is gaming and other uses, that Macs struggle with, Very Interesting hmmmmmm
Quick question: would I see a difference in Photoshop on 13900K between DDR5 4800 and DDR5 6800? I would like to avoid XMP for stability. Thank you!
If you want stability then don't do it! But yeah you'd probably see a small difference!
Again excellent video. You are the best. Sir keep it up. You deserve much more.
I will keep sharing your videos because i love your total genuine content and no biased things like some other RUclipsrs.
If we use 7200mhz cl 34 ram in dual channel and RTX 3060 12gb then it will be more performance and with upcoming RTX 4070 with 16gb video ram. Leaks suggest 4070 will have 16gb ram. 40 series has dual encoders and will be even more fast.
You are the only one who really knows what PC can do.
Intel arrow lake desktop and laptop chips coming in 2024 with Intel 20A node will be biggest leap in transistor technology since the introduction of FinFET in 2012 which is RibbonFET transistors and new power via backside power delivery tech also.
Very good!
What about comparing Final Cut X projects on the Apple M2s? They are far better optimized for Final Cut. Granted, you can't compare to PC because there's no Final Cut on PC.. but create the same work in Final Cut on the mac and then test against the PC. That would be an interesting look at what the Macs can do with their native apps.
Cheers
Rick
Not sure if you knew, but Resolve is optimised for MAC and even better than FCX :)
@@theTechNotice I have not tried Resolve but may put it to the test with one of my own projects as compared to Final Cut. Would be an interesting test.

Rick
So I've downloaded resolve on my PC laptop and will do so on my mac when I get back from my trip. Seems simple enough to navigate, but I've not tried anything "complicated" yet. I'm eager to see how it handles a project as compared to Final Cut X. I'll let you know once I have a chance to pull something together. Thanks again for your channel.

If I were a video editor and not reliant on FCP, I would totally go for a PC. Granted Apple has some great laptops if you need mobility when editing but you can't beat the pricing on a desktop PC. Plus you have the advantage of upgrading memory, internal storage, GPU and in some cases even CPU upgrades. I wish Logic Pro was available on Windows..lol. What's bogus is what Apple charges for extra memory and storage. No way should it cost $600 to go from 512GB to 2 TB of storage. You can get 4TB SSDs in a PC for under $400.
Yep...
@@theTechNotice Really fair comparison if you are not picking up some relevant PC brand like Dell or so would be building hackintosh at the same price. Of cource, it has to be intel one then but they would have similar condition and power consumption.
How I wish Final Cut existed on PC, but it is something that I think will never happen. Although Capcut is going down that path and it seems to me a similar interface, its desktop version has been improving a lot, although there is still a long way to go but I think that in a short time it will be one of the favorite editors in Windows
Thats a reason I sold my M1 pro laptop to build a Desktop. Even if you want mobility, Macs are not upgradeable
@@mikefantos2878 They have upgrade options at purchase but the cost is ridiculous. 2 TB of ssd storage doesn’t cost $600. Right now 2 TB PCI-E Gen 4 m.2 drives are under $150.
That was very good comparation...
What about m2 pro vs 13500 + 3060/3060ti. Time line performance
distroy M1 Ultra
Love my 13600K. ❤
When are you going to do an i9+A770 video? I think a lot people are curious how an all Intel machine performs using their best consumer grade hardware.
Will do, just waiting for Adobe to support ARC :)
@@theTechNoticeI am very curous to also see the AV1 encoding comoarison between Apple, AMD and Intel at that moment :)
Years ago back in the PPC days? This is one of the reasons I switched to windows. If you really have work you need done? Windows. If you like to play around? Enjoy doing videos without hard timelines? The mac is the "Nice guy" on the block.
And food for thought? Intels GPU offerings make this even more appealing. That low cost card is a Video Trans-coding wonder Him/Him/Zur/Etc... BUT.. It still not rock solid stable from what I have heard yet. So not for Mainline editing rigs as of yet. Still a good option for the "Home Gamer".
PC only has 2 genders.
Why would I export a 4k video to 8k?
Great video.
I have a legion 5 laptop with amd ryzen 7/5800h and 3050ti and I'm happy with it. Anyway I bought the mac mini m2 pro because I want to get into macOS, so I will work with both and take advantage of the better system, depending on the use. On the other hand I am aware that the nvidia gpu is more powerful than the m2 pro. The advantage of the laptop is that I was able to expand it to 64GB ram and two 1TB ssds.
@RSV9 hey 👋🏻👋🏻,
I know they are different but I was actually thinking about getting either of those options for my personal & work computer..
What did you think when using both? And if you'd sacrifice one which would it be?
@@omartaka206 I'll be honest, for a few weeks I was using both the windows laptop and the mac mini, but I found that I still work better with the laptop. It offers me more options and the fact that it has Nvidia's dedicated graphics card gives me more power when I'm using Stable Diffusion. I was able to get the graphics programs (Luminar Neo, On1 Photo Raw) also for the mac mini and the work is similar in both, the advantage of Nvidia in this case is not noticiable. What I don't like about MacOs is its window options which are very simple and sometimes there are some that open in the background and you can't see them because they are behind other programs. Maybe I do something wrong but it confuses me every time. In Windows, the window appears in the status bar in yellow to attract attention.
In the end it's a matter of taste, I'm staying with both but I work more with the laptop.
@@RSV9 thanks a lot my friend.
I'll probably get the laptop for now since I'm already used to windows and will need the touch of portability.
Have a nice day ✌🏻✌🏻
@@omartaka206 On the other hand, if you look at the portability side, then an apple laptop has more running time compared to a Windows laptop because it is more efficient especially with the new M1 and M2 chips. I don't need portability and I use the windows laptop only stationary and with two external monitors. 🖖
@@RSV9
That's true but unfortunately where I live macbooks over 13 inch are super expensive and the 13 inch models which are too small for my eyes tbh, so my budget was either win laptop or mac mini. Which will probably go in the direction of win for upgradability and some but not much mobility.
Sir please can you make a video of best 3600mhz cl16 ddr4 vs good 6400 mhz drr5 comparison for video editing.
Pudgetbench scores comparison and exporting differences.
This video will me best for saving money that any good scaling we get in ddr5 ram video editing or ddr4 is still good enough.
great video. I would have used a non k i5 then used the cost difference for a 3060
May you test it in HDR?
Pc users have the advantage of upgrading their graphic card and instanty improve the speed of their system without having to buy a new computer.
can you test the same things but with a 6core intel cpu? Cause rtx 3050 must match better at this kind of budget !
You need to do a video where you compare the M2 Pro with a similar spec'd PC. But have the Mac run Final Cut Pro and have the PC run either Premier Pro or DaVinci Resolve. Put both machines through the same types of tasks. That way you are comparing platforms. FCP is optimized for Macs, and DaVinci and Premier Pro are optimized for PCs. The whole video editing experience should be taken into account, and compared for what each machine does best with the software it is optimized for. That's the only way to get a true Mac vs PC comparison.
Both Premiere and DR are optimized for Mac and PC, Final Cut performs even worse on Mac compared to DaVinci on Mac...and this is cheaper PC than M2 pro...
@@mrrexy4151 Final Cut does NOT perform worse on a Mac than Davinci or Premier. That's nonsense. Not sure where you got that from.
@@squatch545 yes it does, dr is much faster in rendering performance, there is a lot of benchmarks, from different youtubers, maxtech have put some great videos and comparation bettwen dr18 and fcp...
Mr rexy is right ;)
While I do agree that FCP is optimized for the M Mac chipset family for obvious reasons… Davinci Resolve is just as optimized, if not even more so in certain editing tasks. It’s my video editor of choice on my Mac… Premiere pro on the other hand is known to be the least optimized out of the bunch. So I would say that for this comparison, it would have been best to focus on comparing editing on both machines using Davinci as it’s known to be well optimized for both platforms fairly equally.
Apple only have the performance edge when M1 launched, and since then, PC has caught up massively; Intel has launched 12th and now 13th gen with their intel 7 process, AMD has launched Zen 4 with TSMC 5nm process, and Nvidia has upgraded to TSMC N4 process and gained massive performance per watt uplift, so now Apple has now loss the performance crown again, and their efficiency crown is also dwindling due to the competition also making deals with TSMC to access advanced nodes. For laptops I can see Apple still having the performance crown not because they have the highest peak performance when plugged in, but because they have higher performance when on battery, which is the majority of the scenarios people use their laptop with, and plus the battery life itself is still superior, and the mini led screen on the Macs is still the best for Dolby Vision HDR and color accurate editing, but for the desktops, I don’t see much of a point when it doesn’t run on battery anyway and the only benefit you got is just slightly lower electricity bill, or perhaps more convenient to move, and combined with the fact that Apple still didn’t include RT accelerators in their M2 chips to speed up rendering, I find it hard to choose their Mac Mini/Studio, unless the ultra large Vram that is enabled by Apple’s unified memory architecture is needed for your specific rendering scenario.
nahh u must be some bored guy to be writing essays in yt comments😂😂😂😂
I’d like to have both systems
at lest! a performance test useful . thanks
Thank you I waited on this, will be sticking with the PC for a long time :) apple is only a marketing like always..
Could you please make an updated real-life usage of the power consumption between latest AMDs and Intel 13th gen (maybe some middle range and their top of the line)? I am very curious how they are now, last time I watched something like this (here), AMD was not really better (it had very poor idle) for real-life use than Intel.
how are you using intel quick sync with an NVIDIA card at the same time?
Resolve allows for gpu+igpu hybrid function where both work cooperatively on the same render task. It's one of the main reasons why F-spec Intel cpus are not recommended for creators due to the lack of hybrid workload potential.
@@Real_MisterSir that's amazing, i bought a computer from a guy without any idea of pcs and brought me a 13900k KF that supposed to be K, and know im fucked
@@blion3d That's a bummer, I mean the cpu is still great but you may be losing out on additional 20-30% performance in some tasks depending on what you do. If you work in Resolve, then yea the lack of igpu from the KF chip does take away a fair bit of speed in rendering.
13600K + 3050 or 13500 + 3060Ti?
Were you running davinci in native or rosetta?

I'm musician, so Apple, forever! Another thing, making PC games from GOG working on my Mini M2 is half of the fun
For Creators….Based on your Benchmark test. What is the Best Bang-4-Buck Value PC and Mac mini setup with Monitor $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$
For around $1300 which is what the m2 pro mini costs you could get something better than the 3060
If you have a Mac you would be using Final Cut, so would be interested to see what the Macs could actually do forthe video exports. Also I would have been interested to have seen the rendering times and the srubbing speeds !
This is a very intersting take that I don't believe is even remotely true. When I work professionally and collabroate with a team i.e. a production company I will, more than likely, be using Premiere Pro espcially if working with or for/with a studio. Then maybe Ressolve, and then perhaps Avid. I think Final Cut would be the last option if working with any sport of production company.
Final Cut is not for professionals....
Nah logic pro from Apple has been destroyed by 3rd party options such as reaper... DAW optimization apps is useless...
Professionals would likely be using premier pro or resolve. My sample size is admittedly limited but I've never seen Final Cut used professionally.
@@nadtz recently pp not worthy to subscribe..plague with bug and tonnes of issues
Thanks for your testing. Premier pro is sucks. Ok over all PC is handling better but what about size and portability comparison?

The main thing is both are the same price.
Apple chose an Alienware Aurora R13 that’s poorly cooled with an i9-12900KF (no iGPU) to show off the power of their M1 Ultra in video editing. They got away with it because their fanboys have no clue what was being compared. People can save a lot of £££$$$ if they educate themselves a bit and stop listening to marketing claims.

@Muhammad Ehtasam no it didn’t. Phone link is still garbage, Apple being secure killed it. If you have a smart home and turn on secure routing so there’s no incoming connections it breaks the ecosystem.

@Tech Notice I know someone who could help create the efi file for you for any intel configuration. He has a RUclips channel called iKip, and he is amazing (helped me out).
Every time I see one of these "comparison" videos, they use the M2 with only 8 GB of memory, when we absolutely know that 16 GB improves the performance incredibly for these complex tasks. Ditto for the 256 GB SSD that is a known bottleneck (512 GB is almost 2X the performance). I'm willing to bet your Windows machine wasn't configured with 8GB of RAM (minimum recommend for Win11, right?), so why configure the M2 and M2Pro with "minimum" RAM? I just don't see the value of a "side by side" comparison where the specs of the various machines aren't optimized for the task at hand.
Read the videos title.
"for same price" ..
@@nukester. Why do you think I need to read the video title, when my point was that when it comes to the Mac Mini M2, he is comparing a FAR less expensive configuration, while claiming he's comparing two systems (three actually, but I'm ignoring the M2 Max, as I did in my original comment) that you can acquire at the same cost. His title actually says "for the SAME PRICE" in big, bold letters...
The video he references as "the build I used" shows a price of $1300 for the PC used in the testing. And in the "comments" area where he shows the specs, it is confirmed that he's using a $1,300 PC build that has 16GB of RAM and a larger, faster SSD. He's benchmarking that "$1300 PC" against a $599 base model M2 Mini (8GB memory, 256GB SSD). To get even remotely to the "SAME PRICE" claim he's making, he should be at least upgrading to 16GB memory ($200) and 512GB SSD ($200) for a total cost of $999, which is still WELL below the cost of his "bargain PC" config. The only way I can see to make those two systems actually close to the "SAME PRICE" you would have to take the GPU card ($350-ish out of the PC.
You can't say "for the SAME PRICE" when one system costs more than TWICE as much as the other.
@@jimparker871 The main comparison is the PC vs the Mac Mini M2 Pro base model. Not the Mac Mini M2 base model. There are two main version of the M2 Pro. One has a 10 core cpu, the other has 12 cores.
@@LBCAndrew I get that, but your review title, and the review itself state that you're comparing the PC to BOTH versions. But it just gripes me that everyone compares Apples to Oranges...

I am shocked that nvidia GPU are this good!
I think using that much electricity is a real problem on windows computers. I really do.
When time is money well the m series mac pretty pointless in performance per watt and energy efficiency
The actual felt speed of application switching and launching and just general lag in between regular tasks is better on base Mac than a $4500 PC. However, it unfortunately isn't worth the other tradeoffs, and adding just a modest amount of RAM and SSD space to any Mac will run you +$1200 on top of in many cases already high base prices.
its related to windows and macos.... maocos is lil smoother.... i also run ubuntu on custom pc and damn its blazing fast...web speedometer 2.0 is 40% higher....if linux supported all games and application it would have been killer os but sadly linux is just not for daily use
@@leejenshakya8524 Linux has horrible designers
0.2 sec lag is making you mad?
@@Teluric2 What are you talkin about? No one said anything about .2 sec lag
Tbh while testing these M2 max minutes I've been surprised how leggy they are compared to a 13th gen PC. Especially when opening large projects on pp or DR. Just expected about more smoothness ;)
Imagine having MacOS on a PC prices and capabilities.... And no I don't mean a hackintosh. I mean official support so you don't have to go through the many hoops to keep a hackintosh working fine.
I like M2 Pro because I can't stand the noise from Window pcs.
Average apple user ☕
Use water cooling, problem solved.
My PC makes less noise than apple computers.
I like how AMD wasn't even mentioned in this comparison =)
You forget talk about size and noise. For PC you must have room separately
When you're running a business, time is money. Aesthetics are meaningless.
@@LBCAndrew Only those who don't know their capabilities don't have enough time?!
When i assumed and compared RTX 4080 efficiency and performance per watt against m1 ultra, 4080 is even much much much much more efficient than m1 ultra for the performance and also reliability, compatibility it is offering like in blender, vray, octane bench, unreal engine, 3ds max, nvidia omniverse, and 100s of 3d content creation.
4080 is even more efficient than 4090.
4080 is 2 to 3 times efficient than 3090 or 3090ti in gaming and 3d apps which was already efficient and has better performance per watt than m1 ultra.
@Muhammad Ehtasam yes. I have seen tech notice video. For 3d work 40 series is 2.2 to upto 3 times efficient than 3090 or 3090ti.
I have also seen many gaming videos like hardware unboxed etc.
They got 4080 is 2 times efficient than 3090 for same resolution, same frames, same graphics setting.
I have RTX 4080 and i got it for 1030 dollars in black friday sale.
What a excellent card 🤩Very efficient. Very cool running and very very quiet running card.
I love my 4080.
On the PC Side, was it on a z690/z790, a b660/b760 or h610/h670 (K skews should be run with z motherboards); Also ddr4 vs ddr5 at how much ram (Dual Channel? XMP?)
Not sure if that would make a difference as he did not mention overclocking so Mobo and Ram has very little impact vs number of cores and built in encoders etc.
As he mentioned he is using his 750 to 1300doller pc build video as it is against similarly priced M2 pro
K chips only make sense on Z boards if you intend on playing around with overclocking, undervolting, etc. And some 660 / 760 boards also support this unofficially (Asus B660-I for example).
If you're just using the products out of box, then the difference is hardly perceivable at best, and most likely a zero degree difference in practice.
Since hardware rendering in DaVinci resolve is enabled in the free version on Mac but not on PC. I would be interested seeing a performance comparison between them. Otherwise you would have to subtract $300 for the DaVinci license to get the performance. Many small creators are using the free version.
There are also plenty of other free apps on Windows but not on Mac. Who encodes often probably needs the full versions anyways.
You can always build a hackintosh and save the $300
Why youtuber are so obsessed about exporting time? If you really putting work on your content and tou love creating them, you'll put days or if you are that serious weeks on a video. An hour export time difference doest mean nothing. The more important thing to test is the playback because that is where you spend more time than exporting. I dont understand, except if the export time is a representation of how will playback speed will be.
MAC and PC encodes at same speed, but you have to choose manually the intel or nvidia hardware codecs. But in mac theres only hardware codecs by default
Sorry you know someone who takes 4K and upscale to 8k 😅😅😅😅
Why compare an i5 and not an i7 or i9?
Price.
How about comparing it with final cut pro?
Don't have it on Windows, so cannot compare. But from what I saw, DaVinci Resolve seems to be even better optimized than Final Cut.
@@FlorinArjocuAll of those software programs are means to an end, So, My point was what would be fastest and best way to get to the end windows/pc or mac?
@@ricksmart9999 It has nothing to do with this test. If you want to see which computer is faster, you need to run the same tests on both computers. And secondary, your comment implies some better performances in Final Cut, which, from what I could see in other tests, it a non subject, DaVinci Resolve seems to be actually faster than Final Cut.
@@FlorinArjocu Okay. thank you.
Base model Mac mini & MacBook ssd is slow
Pc > Mac but iPhone is so much better than android that the slightly worse computer becomes the easy choice to have a seamless ecosystem.
Timeline Performance is the real deal. Apple SIlicon Adobe apps Are super silky smooth with timeline and loading times. Plus You can take Mac mini and Travel. Apple Ecosystem is the real deal. On the other Hand Apple Already Won the CPU war. Single Core GeekBench 1900+ Is same with second Gen Chips. Imagine what they can achieve with M3 New TSMC 3nm.
Hopefully Intel also moves to 4nm with the next generation. AMD will use TSMC, too, so if they want to pay, they could also have 3nm.
@@FlorinArjocu yes they will but They are late. Already a year or 2 gap.
How you gonna take mac mini and travel without your display and keyboard?
Can't believe 3050 is that powerful!
Yeah. And the 3050 is a crappy card.
TL;DR: go to 17:48 for CONCLUSION
This compare is not real and fair. For real test this PC components need to be compare in same range of mac for example 13th gen Intel is like m2 Max or Ultra from apple not like basic m2 so also you use more ram on pc against 8gb from apple....so if you like compare PC do it with same class not same price range bcs PC parts is cheaper than apple...
I still love how apple has the most expensive stuff ever like whyyy
Because their over-educated customers have no common sense.
☕
Pc any day
i believe the 13700k was bottlenecked by the 3050
Una mastodonte PC que no te puedes llevar de viaje con un ruidero descacharro y comparando con programas mal porteados a Mac
This video needs to go viral. Apple has crashed PC, eh? How do you like them apples?
if apple pretended they were on planet earth with folks paying $1500 one bedroom rent and priced their products accordingly they would be on to something. The cost for modern ram sizes and storage on mac are ridiculous. Pity.
i like PC easy to uograde, unlike Mac after how many years you need to buy a new one.
Being that I have an iPhone, iPad, AirPods Pro, my entire family has iPhones… I went the Mac Mini route. The seamless integration with which all my Apple products work with each other makes my life less stressful. I used Windows for 20 years and Android for 12 years… I’m too old to want to tinker. I just want to turn on my devices and just work. I do miss overclocking and building custom pcs but my time is too valuable nowadays and well the Max Mini makes my life easier. That’s just me though
100% understand! Watch me do the same in 20 years time ha ha
I enjoy tinkering with my PC. it relaxes me. Building, testing, it's great fun, and joy, to create
@@takietofoto For sure it is fun, I just don't have the time at my age anymore. But keep doing it! It's definitely a great hobby that I can no longer do due to other hobbies and family responsibilities.
MAC is no-brainer for Video encoding
Lol watching you struggle to figure out how to say the render was 50% real-time made me sad. And yes, Max are not designed to do pointless tasks like upscaling.
who cares about export time , timeline perfomance is a main thing here
Test blender and m2 lose quickly
I just think its a bit funny that the Windows GPU card alone is almost as big (and probably as heavy) as the whole Mac M2 Pro Mini
You mean all Apple marketing isn't true, I'm shocked.
🤣
When apple silicon came out, it was mind boggling the speed for editing. I'm glad the PC industry is competing toe to toe with Apple. Idk if Apple can keep the performance crown when they have three giants disputing to be the best in each field. I think it's matter of time to know if Apple's move to ARM was the better choice, I mean solely in performance. It makes sense now, but in 5 years? maybe not.
Don't get me wrong M1/M2/Pro/Max/Ultra, are amazing. Somehow, Intel, AMD, and Nvidia are improving notably their architecture with each generation, also the implementation of hardware accelerators too. AMD even plans for future CPUs to have stacked DDR memory on top the die.
Apple is really big in portable computing where the power of arm makes a lot of sense. They have limited appeal in workstations so they have kept the intel pro. Not sure if the market justifies the huge investment in r&d as the power needs for fast GPUs will not translate to portable products. Apple did a remarkable job of adding multiple low power cores to make a high performance studio, but there is a limit. Even amd cannot touch nvidia as CUDA has become the standard for high end graphics. Coin mining, gaming and server farms help fund the r&d at amd and Nvidia. Apple has no presence in these markets. I had expected the Mac Pro to be on apple silicon by now, but the latest Intel and Nvidia offerings make me question that. Mac os for Intel is still in full support
Apple has never had the performance crown.
Power consumption: M2 Pro = 30 Watts and less
Power consumption: i5 13600 K + Nvidia 3050 = 300 Watts and more
Result: 270 Watts more Power consumption for some shity minutes faster video exporting
I still think to be completely fair since the SoC has the GPU built in that it would be more like IrisXE graphics being tested against. There’s no way in hell an integrated GPU will beat a discrete card.
Yeah, the aim for this was same pricepoint windows PC vs Mac
@@theTechNotice Oh I get it. We just know what you can get on the Windows side is vastly greater, generally, than you can get on the Mac side. For desktops, if you put the MacBook Pro against the Lenovo X1 Carbon I think the MBP would smoke it.
why not? apple said their integrated gpu is stronger than a 3090 some time ago
@@S1eepers no they didn't. that was a power graph and relative performance. They said their GPU was at 100% at a much lower wattage than the 3090, they just didn't continue the 3090's performance graph.
@@brandonw1604 clearly the graph was designed to make it look like it would beat the 3090 or else it wouldnt have backlashed.
I love how pc users preference speed over efficiency. I could never use a pc as I have a way to heat my home. I will never use windblows, and I have no interest in using Linux as my daily driver.
I needed to watch another 19 minutes video to know what PC specs is used? Nah man....
