From what I've seen the cupholders in the centre console are redesigned with spring loaded grips instead of fixed rubber grips, and there's some USB plugs in the back of the console for the back seat, new higher quality finer grain leather wrap on the steering wheel, new tuning for the standard shocks & general build quality improvements.
HCFX I just bought a 17 xlt f150 and noticed the steering wheel leather quality is much much better compared to the 16. The 16 almost looks like it’s fake cheap leather, the 17 just has a very nice solid and smooth feel. It just feels high quality grabbing onto it. Other than that I’m not totally sure on what else they changed.
I'm going for a (obviously) used 2017 3.5L XLT supercrew LB. It's my first ford truck, fingers crossed. What impressed me the most was the 10 speed. I'm a V8 guy but the 3.5L impressed me, the tq was awesome.
Town and Country TV. You missed the most important change on the 3.5 Ecoboost, which is the dual injection. It has both Multi-Port and Direct Fuel Injection, which gives it better control of Hp and Torque over the rpm range. But, the most important aspect of Dual Injection, is that fuel will now be sprayed on the intake valves, which should do away with, or significantly reduce the Direct Injection carbon build up problems. Sadly, this engine is only offered on the F-150, for now.
Andy Bloom, Direct Injection is on all Ecoboost, but for 2017, Multi-Port injection has been added to the 3.5L turbo, so it has both (dual), but this engine is only offered on the F-150. Hopefully, dual injection will become the norm for all engines that now have DI.
I stand corrected. I was under the impression that Ford had already introduced this change to the 2015 3.5l ecoboost engines which is untrue. Therefore, you are correct, it is absolutely a significant change to the 2017's that should have been mentioned in this video. I'm curious if Ford increased the potential for fuel delivery on the 2017 engines as this seems to be a limiting factor for power potential on the previous (direct injection only) engines.
I think the main reason for the dual injection, is to address the carbon build up problem, but concealing it in the power increase. The MPI helps the engine power and torque at lower speeds, and the DI takes over at higher RPM's, allowing for more power over all. Ford probably doesn't address the addition of MPI for the carbon problem, or people may start to wonder why it's not on all their other Ecoboosts.
It was because of this video that convinced me in December to buy 2017 F150 ecoboost over Silverado that I almost purchased. Ford could learn from this summarized demo. Another reason was Silverado High Country has NO keyless ignition and a sunroof is also extra.
Our truck has that package too! It's black, tow package, supercrew, and an FX4 The only differences is that it's a 2002

I have a 2015 f-150 super crew & the rear floorboard is completely flat ( No transmission tunnel hump in the back )-- so is the 2017 with the new 10 speed automatic the same??
I have a 2017 F150 regular cab, and I got into a 2016 super crew. The funny thing is the biggest thing I noticed when getting in was the computer next to the speedometer. The super crew one I drove was an XLT and it had this old out dated display, while the 17 XL looked more futuristic and high end. It's just a small cosmetic thing, but it gave me a bit more pause about going back. Maybe in 2020 I'll be able to find a 2017 5.0 with low mileage that's a super crew.
Mid-July builds and after 2016 models with Sync 3 have Apple Car Play and Android Auto, the rest are getting the update/upgrade originally announced for summer and now Ford says by end of the year - days are running out. Android Auto is anticipated to be OTA upgrade while Apple Car Play will need an additional hardware installation because Apple requires certified hardware/usb adapter for Car Play to function.
I've heard that the high-output 3.5-liter V6 Ecoboost engines in the new Raptor have direct injection but also have small port injectors that spray the valves to keep them cool and free of carbon deposits. Is this true?
Zachary Zarko ignore the high output, its just a marketing scam! and yes the new raptor will have direct and port injection they do this as it helps improve engine performance and yes it should help to eliminate the build up of carbon! since direct injection engines dont coat the intake valves with fuel carbon tends to build up but if you add port injection the air and fuel can both mix together and coat the intake valves thus eleminating carbon build up
Illuminated cup holders, B&O audio on the way and lincoln-like glossy leather won't supplant the frustration at the service department. A lot of flash. Ford Marketing department is killing it and your parting ways with your hard earned money!
One thing I wish was better is that the gear cluster on the 10 speed is so small you cant read it if you have to wear readers like me but cant wear them when driving. The gear that you're in should be nice and big so you can see it so you know exactly what gear you're in since it does have 10 gears.
The Raptor is so cool. I guess I want it but they're not available yet for my location, I have to check again in January. I do like the grill of the basic F150 tho.
Using a phone to unlock and lock it and shit I mostly see old people drive these nice trucks I don't think old people are gonna use a smart phone to access there truck but that's still amazing Ford!!
Does Ford give you any information as to when they will be pushing Sync 3 2.0 to the 2016 F-150's? They have claimed they will update to support Android Auto but it seems like they are now holding it back just so they can claim it's a new feature on the 2017's to get people to buy those instead.
I would have liked to hear more specifics on the 10 speed transmission and 2nd gen Eco boost. For example, 10 speed tranny keeps RPM's in the heart of the Eco boost's power band (where it makes the most power) if you are towing. Or how the 2nd gen Eco boost is COMPLETELY redesigned. Basically the only similarities between the 1st gen and 2nd gen are the engine block (basically). Pretty effective and informative video overall.
I don't want to be the guy that points out the obvious but. You forgot to mention that Xavier Harris will be sent a Free 2017 F-150 Platinum courtesy of Town and Country. LOL Great Video as always.
+AV8R Tom yes. If your vehicle ALREADY has sync 3, you can add the Apple car play module for relatively inexpensive. We made a video about it on our channel.
Oh well. Sorry to be that guy but oh well. Good info on the video anyway. I live over in Memphis, do y'all have any Raptors coming in sitting on the lot or are they ALL preordered?
Hey are sure the f-150 5.0 will be getting paired with the 10 speed for 2018? Also how would I go about buying a vehicle from your dealership in Alabama. I'm in NC.
I'm impressed with what they've been able to do with the V6 it's amazing to get that much horsepower and torque on it however it is still not a V8 I am a sucker for that V8 Rumble and I'm sorry to say I will not be buying another F-150 unless Ford brings back their V8 I don't care how much torque they get out of a V6 I want the power and the sound of the engine and he cannot duplicate a V8 Rumble
The best change to me, was the 10speed automatic transmission.. imagine if ford started putting 10 speeds into there ford fusions, edge, explorer and so on. Fuel economy would improve and efficiency which is one of the few but still main advantages other competitors have over ford is fuel economy. I think Ford should def implement this into all of there main stream cars, one up the competition.
can you add sync connect to your truck (raptor) after it will be delivered. i didn't know about this feature and dealer says its too late to add options?
fxnytroxtx same things for me. They said sync connect will be available in january only in the f150. But im supposed to get my new truck this week. So i dont know if i will get it or not...
The raptor used to be my dream truck. Now that i can afford one, I can have rev battles with a Honda. New Ford trucks are perfect except they don't offer a competitive v8 to rival Chevy 6.2
Town and Country TV Ford's continual lack of interest in 8 cylinders did that. I'd prefer to see the 5.2 put in the raptor. Not long ago Ford put a supercar engine in a mustang and f150. Now they put the engine from the Taurus and sprinter. It just hurts my heart to see Ford treat it's v8 like an unwanted step child.
There's nothing to compete against. Chevy doesn't want to sell any big V8s either. Went looking at 2 dealerships a few weeks ago only found 1 6.2 between the two lots. Even the Denali's don't have the 6.2 standard anymore.
Please correct me, but I haven't read anything about the physical parts of the raptor motor being different than the f150 3.5l gtdi. Just tuning for higher boost and rpms.
not all 2017 have this. All 2017 f150 can't remote start with the app! I just found this out you need a modem in the truck. I spent one at the dealer to come up that I need a modem for the f150 to do this.
XL has way to many sensors to go bad 100s of them, i want a truck like i said 1970 only new.. thanks for your suggestion. also there is no manual trans anymore,:(
yeah that would be really cool but all gov regulations killing that idea. Its impossible for companies to delete all the sensors like you mention. epa regulation on fuel economy requires more controller on engine which gives more sensors to put on.... and i'm not even starting on the safety regulations. Its just not possible so better off buying nice well maintained used truck.
XeXProDucTionZ1 Yeah man they're real fuel efficient people always think diesels are so harmful to the earth but my 6.0 puts out less emissions than the average car and still gets 22mpg when I keep my foot out of it
Yup. Can’t speak to the Gen 2 Eco’s but my 13’ hit 80K miles and started to have issues. I replaced the timing chain at 100K due to the start up rattle and it’s doing the rattle again at 115K. I did the weep hole mod but I’m still sucking up oil into the intake manifold which is creating misfires. Sad because it’s such a powerful engine but I never did like the drivability. Engine always seemed laggy and had moments where there was a big delay between stomping on the gas and when power arrived. You almost had to step on the gas one second before you actually need the power. Weird.
Another change, though not a positive one is the removal of the Fx4 and offroad packages. You want skidplates on your Lariat, sorry cant have it, weld it there yourself. You want an offroad prepped pickup from ford? Buy the Raptor, period. No other option exists anymore. Want a family pickup thats capable on the highway, hauling and prepped for the times you have to go offroad or visit a worksite? Sorry, you have to go Superduty now. Never thought I'd say this but my next pickup will probably not be a ford for those exact reasons.
couldn't find anything I wanted on the ford lot so ordered a custom they take forever to come so far been waiting 10 weeks amd it's supposed to come in 5 days ,reg cab (like all trucks should be ) 4x4 locking diff chrome package tow package ecoboost spray in bed liner, also you don't have to get a stx for body colored bumpers and such it was an option on my custom xl but I chose chrome why on earth would you want painted bumpers.? what's next ? carpet floors in trucks ?if you need a sunroof and heated steering wheels amd room for the kiddies maybe you should be looking at station wagons .
I'd still prefer to see a 5.0 twin turbo in the f-150 and Raptor. I would never buy a raptor now because it has a V6, I don't honestly know what would have been so hard about keeping the 6.2 and adding torque and horse power, or teaming up with Roush or SVT to bring out a supercharged version of the 6.2. Not to mention, if ford phases out the 5.0, I will probably have to switch brands, you'd never catch me in a truck with an V6 ecoboost.
hey Kyle this is what I said about a month ago ...I had 6.2L f-150"s for many years but since I wanted another limited model I had to switch engines ...personally I think the ecoboost is faster than the 6.2L and I'm driving it a lot more than my 6.2L ...I don't even think of the growl anymore because the 16 limited is a dream truck and ride... plus I'm getting better fuel mileage as well...I have no regrets about switching engines at all..
F-150 KING OF TRUCKS That's good for you. But like I said, I will not buy one, and we could talk about why and why not, but it just end's up in an argument that is not needed. If you like the ecoboost, by all means stick with it, I've been in a couple, and sure their great, I am though the type of person who doesn't want to worry about the reliability of my vehicle, I want to know that I got a reliable engine under the hood, and I know a v8 will offer that.
Nice Rolex Explorer II. Makes me trust you a lot more than most car dealers that buy some crappy quartz Tag Heuer to try to be a show off without spending real money. Never trust a man with a try-hard watch.
BLIS and SYNC Connect - optional on XLT, Lariat, King Ranch, and Raptor. Standard on Limited and Platinum. Apple CarPlay is a feature available with any truck with SYNC 3 on the 2017 model
Owner of a 17 Lariat for one month now, Sync is pretty poop but that app is useless. I can start the truck and see fuel level..... great. :/ Buuuut I live this damn truck. Sexy, capable, beastmode. The 3.5EB and 10spd is freaking flawless.
+Rigoberto Hernandez FX4 USED to be a specific trim level that had zero Chrome. Now FX4 is just an option that gives you off-road tuned shocks, hill descent control, and skid plates. FX4 is now optional on EVERY 4x4 F150.
I only live about a hour from you guys ..... when I get ready to buy a truck ill come see you......thanks for your videos buddy.....
This truck since 2002 XLT has been my love that I just can't get over! I'm gonna get 1!!!

I loved this! Love the narrations and side notes!😂
Love my 2017 F-150 Lariat!!! V8 baby, hell yeah!!
Jesus, I live in Virginia and want to come to Alabama to buy my next F-150! GREAT VIDEO!
Awesome video! Currently have a 2014 STX but the Raptor has been my dream truck ever since I first saw one back in 2012!
This guy seems to know more about the different options and packages than the two dealerships in my area.

The vehicle passing at 4:31 is very telling of what happens to F150s two years later. Haha!!
it amazing ford put those features because it is going to make the f-150 the best seller for 2017
+Ever Fuentes we agree! 👊
Damn thought this channel would show me how to fix my Town and Country
Thanks for explaining the trim levels.
Our truck has that package too! It's black, tow package, supercrew, and an FX4 The only differences is that it's a 2002

Ford Marketing department is killing it and your parting ways with your hard earned money!
I like the amber turn single on the raptor. Wish they'd bring that style to the regular f150
When will the 2016 trucks with Sync 3 get the Android Auto update?
Agreed, enough with everything apple.
Very Informative. Thanks.
When I test drove a 2017 F-150, I noticed..... the windshield washer fluid sprayer motor has a different sound to it than my 2016. Of all things!

I have a 2015 Platinum. love it. I was hoping to trade for the 2018,but it's ugly in my opinion. so I'll just keep my 2015.
Agreed
I think Ford and GM should have been working together for years now, they would unstoppable, Europe and Japan would have nothing to rival them!
The Raptor is so cool. I guess I want it but they're not available yet for my location, I have to check again in January. I do like the grill of the basic F150 tho.

We have an entire video on that engine! Check it out here: ruclips.net/video/AiByTv9wmKs/видео.html
let's see what's new on the 2017 Ford F150 oh yeah a higher price
I don't want to be the guy that points out the obvious but. You forgot to mention that Xavier Harris will be sent a Free 2017 F-150 Platinum courtesy of Town and Country. LOL Great Video as always.
+ANonPaidAttorneySpokesperson hahaha! What!?
Can the sync 3 with Apple car play be installed in a 2016 XLT? I have the 302A equipment package.
+AV8R Tom yes. If your vehicle ALREADY has sync 3, you can add the Apple car play module for relatively inexpensive. We made a video about it on our channel.
Can you get an xlt with leather seats at all?
Ggtripleogswag I don't think so. but you can always get an XLT and some nice katskin seat covers.
Go back and edit the first feature on the pop up text. It reads "Enhanded" not "Enhanced" BLIS.
+William Bryan yeah. We tried. Can't edit the video once it's up. Saw the typo right after the video went live.
Oh well. Sorry to be that guy but oh well. Good info on the video anyway. I live over in Memphis, do y'all have any Raptors coming in sitting on the lot or are they ALL preordered?
When are the 2017 F-150 XL with the STX package available?
Will the dome light shut off if left on by accident so it won't drain the battery?
Why did they discontinue the Harley Davidson? I wish they would bring it back in 2018!
They will its just a matter of time.
EL CHEKE i hope so
Hey are sure the f-150 5.0 will be getting paired with the 10 speed for 2018? Also how would I go about buying a vehicle from your dealership in Alabama. I'm in NC.
Also would you do you plan on doing any roush Ford Explorers? If so I will greatly consider taking a drive to upgrade my current 1999 Ford Explorer.
James Jones All 2018 F150 will have auto start stop technology6.
No they won't. The big v8 engines don't have the right technology for the stop start. Also respond to the right comment next time
I'm impressed with what they've been able to do with the V6 it's amazing to get that much horsepower and torque on it however it is still not a V8 I am a sucker for that V8 Rumble and I'm sorry to say I will not be buying another F-150 unless Ford brings back their V8 I don't care how much torque they get out of a V6 I want the power and the sound of the engine and he cannot duplicate a V8 Rumble
+Justin Burks they never got rid of the V8. The 5.0L V8 is an option on nearly every trim level.

Now they put the engine from the Taurus and sprinter. It just hurts my heart to see Ford treat it's v8 like an unwanted step child.
If you want a ford with a similar engine get a 2011 limited 6.2 or a 2011-2012 Harley Davidson
EL CHEKE coyote is a fine motor, just needs an update. My dodge has an old 6.4 with more power and similar fuel economy
There's nothing to compete against. Chevy doesn't want to sell any big V8s either. Went looking at 2 dealerships a few weeks ago only found 1 6.2 between the two lots. Even the Denali's don't have the 6.2 standard anymore.
Would he nice to pick up one of these used now right
They need to twin turbo a v8
Does the sync connect app cost monthly?
Please correct me, but I haven't read anything about the physical parts of the raptor motor being different than the f150 3.5l gtdi. Just tuning for higher boost and rpms.
The turbos are different. Also, a few of the internals are slightly different for increased boost.
So does the 2016 that have sync 3 can't remote start their vehicle with ford pass?
is the 2.7L any good engine for a truck?
I love mine. Perfect for a daily driven truck. 24mpg, tows great, PLENTY of power.
Plenty of power until the turbo goes .
No one is having issues with them going but even if one did in a freak occurrence one of these turbos is only $400. Not that big of a deal.
randomrazr I love my 2.7
does it actually save gas? like mileage of a sedan? lolo
1 question......are those changes also applied to the raptor ??or not??😊😊
Mitchell, is there anything on the rumor that the superduty will get a 10 speed trans at some point as well?
+Murray Shaw not that we've heard. But it wouldn't shock us!
We have a question on my 2017 f150 Lariat on shift handle. Switch says t/s Please tell me that , what this is for?
Please send it to my email HAPD 115@aol.com
Thank you for your time
Should make standard xlt with garage door opener. Got me on that one. ???
not all 2017 have this. All 2017 f150 can't remote start with the app! I just found this out you need a modem in the truck. I spent one at the dealer to come up that I need a modem for the f150 to do this.
Seemed more like an iphone review than a truck review. ;)
What kind of miles per gallon does it get
I wish they would make a truck,... No Options,... Motor, 8' box, manual trans, I dont need a truck to be a Rolls Royce..... Back to basics 1970 truck
Buy an XL , problem solved
XL has way to many sensors to go bad 100s of them, i want a truck like i said 1970 only new.. thanks for your suggestion. also there is no manual trans anymore,:(
***** It would appear life is leaving you behind .
maybe,.. but old school is still a good school.
yeah that would be really cool but all gov regulations killing that idea. Its impossible for companies to delete all the sensors like you mention. epa regulation on fuel economy requires more controller on engine which gives more sensors to put on.... and i'm not even starting on the safety regulations. Its just not possible so better off buying nice well maintained used truck.
My dad got a 2017 f350 do you review
Do f150s still have 6 passanger option?
What's the MPG on that new 10 speed?
25 mpg freeway
Joseph Foster that just sounds bad to me to be honest.. A tuned powerstroke can get numbers like that :/
David A
Truth mine isn't tuned and get 17 city 20ish free way
XeXProDucTionZ1 Yeah man they're real fuel efficient people always think diesels are so harmful to the earth but my 6.0 puts out less emissions than the average car and still gets 22mpg when I keep my foot out of it
will the 5.0L get the 10 speed auto?
I doubt these new engines will last long with all that boost.
callofdutyguy9 this is late but you were right
Yup. Can’t speak to the Gen 2 Eco’s but my 13’ hit 80K miles and started to have issues. I replaced the timing chain at 100K due to the start up rattle and it’s doing the rattle again at 115K. Thanks for the vid. Might want to focus on the road more and keep at least one and on the wheel at all times ;)
Never thought I'd say this but my next pickup will probably not be a ford for those exact reasons.
wrong, i have FX4 pckg on my 17 lariat
What's the starting price for an XL?
Starts at around $26,730
mitch....get u a Raptor....you can do it....
+Christopher Hale video is coming sooner than you know!
😳
Town and Country TV
Hurry up! Can't wait. =)
couldn't find anything I wanted on the ford lot so ordered a custom they take forever to come so far been waiting 10 weeks amd it's supposed to come in 5 days ,reg cab (like all trucks should be ) 4x4 locking diff chrome package tow package ecoboost spray in bed liner, also you don't have to get a stx for body colored bumpers and such it was an option on my custom xl but I chose chrome why on earth would you want painted bumpers.? what's next ? carpet floors in trucks ?if you need a sunroof and heated steering wheels amd room for the kiddies maybe you should be looking at station wagons .
tronarat chrome package is gay dude
Can we remove the blind spot sensor sticker
Good question----Yes you can! If you are talking about the one on the taillight
when is the raptor exactly coming out
They are in the plant now! Very few are in transit as well. You will probably start to see some at dealers in late December.
Town and Country TV can I call you if I wanna order Rapter asap ?
I want a f150 so bad can't wait til my lease is up
Are you driving without either hand on the wheel @ 4:40...?
Which engine has flex fuel?
...A very excellent review...;--),,,,,,,,
Yup
I'll take one
"Enhanded" BLIS ?
which is faster the 2016 v8 or the 2017 ttv6
Does this car come in manual transmission?
BLIS is nice but the light is so freaking small, look at GM the light is extremely bright and you can actually see it!!
Kyle Fitzgerald Can't handle the power or what?
Travis Fogel Of course, I just am simply saying my opinion and preferences on the F-150
hey Kyle this is what I said about a month ago ...I had 6.2L f-150"s for many years but since I wanted another limited model I had to switch engines ...personally I think the ecoboost is faster than the 6.2L and I'm driving it a lot more than my 6.2L ...I don't even think of the growl anymore because the 16 limited is a dream truck and ride... plus I'm getting better fuel mileage as well...I have no regrets about switching engines at all..
Kyle Fitzgerald the ecoboost has been around for 7 years bro...its not new...lol
Nice Rolex Explorer II. Makes me trust you a lot more than most car dealers that buy some crappy quartz Tag Heuer to try to be a show off without spending real money. Never trust a man with a try-hard watch.
i wonder why ford didn't put the 10 speed in the 5.0 F150
+billy heaton it's coming in the 2018 model.
Town and Country TV So the 10 speed will be in the 5.0 in 2018 ?
+Town and Country TV is the 2.7 getting the 10 speeds? Any word on hybrid or diesel?
Great!
2017 to Ford: Lets add features to the F-150
2017 to me: No money for you
is #1-3 standard on all 2017 Models?
BLIS and SYNC Connect - optional on XLT, Lariat, King Ranch, and Raptor. Standard on Limited and Platinum. Apple CarPlay is a feature available with any truck with SYNC 3 on the 2017 model
ok thanks!
Owner of a 17 Lariat for one month now, Sync is pretty poop but that app is useless. I can start the truck and see fuel level..... great. :/ Buuuut I live this damn truck. Sexy, capable, beastmode. The 3.5EB and 10spd is freaking flawless.
Why crome on the fx4 ?
+Rigoberto Hernandez FX4 USED to be a specific trim level that had zero Chrome. Now FX4 is just an option that gives you off-road tuned shocks, hill descent control, and skid plates. FX4 is now optional on EVERY 4x4 F150.
The chassis on the 2017 are so much safer than 2016, search up 2016 vs 2017 crash test
I would buy but I want the raptor motor in regular f150
If this dealership was in San Antonio I would have bought a Ford Truck instead of the Ram.
So you bought a Dodge because you didn't like the local Ford dealer? Wouldn't it have made more sense just to go to a different ford dealer?
He is a Texan 'nuff said !
I love all Trucks it was the great feeling I got from these guys that would have made me buy from them. Conneely you have a problem with Texans?
***** Yes , you gave us GWB proof Texans are not very bright
Look out we have a internet tough guy! lmao
bring back the 6.2 v8
I don't really care for a 10 speed automatic that's what I drive in my 18 wheeler we don't need that in our f150 lol
Pickup trucks are becoming the new semi lol
Hehe. And here I am with my 2006 F-150 with a 4 speed automatic.
