Thanks for posting this. Just bought a 1620 and it pumps fine but I wanted to know just in case. Your video reinforced why cleaning these machines is absolutely essential.
Glad it helped
Getting ready to spray my kitchen cabinets and have not used my machine in years. Now I know what I need to do to get it ready. Thank you so much.
Hope it helps
This was one of the best step by step videos I've watched. Thank you sir
So glad you found it useful
Wow I had to laugh when I saw your tool box. If I had one of them I would run water through it after every use. You did a fantastic job Rooster
Man tanks it means alot after the week I've had
My Spray Tech pump wouldn't prime. Watched this video, took aprt my pump (piston), super cleaned, reassembled and Presto. Did not buy a repack kit or new piston. Justr super cleaning. My not even close to this bad but a little paint sticks everything up. Check balls a big deal, you have to hear them rattle. Thanks, Grandpa...I relate to your style.
At-a-Boy keep that $ in your pocket and fix it yourself 🐓👍🏻
its been 25 years since i had to work on paint sprayers... thanks for bringin back the memories haha its like people get dont painting and just put the sprayer away.
Lol Tom ol buddy iv been working on paint sprayers since 1993
good one Rusty, tell that customer yo clean after every use
Heck yeah thanks Bob
Great vid on the how to thank you for taking the time to do
Yeah buddy, thanks. I hope to get to work on more paint sprayers soon
Wow! What a crazy amount of disassembly and cleaning to get to all those gooey paint boogers. I'm glad you posted this non gasoline powered repair video. I enjoy learning something new. I didn't realize you were a fan of Jackson Pollack's painting style ;)
Lol.. thanks a bunch Lawnmower Lady im old enough to know what your talking about i really love your channel whish i could produce the quality of video that you do
@@TheRustyRooster LOL. I wish I was as easy going in front of the camera as you!
Nice to see you work on more than just lawnmowers. Great job 👍
Thanks Joe 👍
Nice work. Great explanation of the inner workings. I have to completely clear a field marking machine a few times a year and yes its a dirty job. I little helpful hint flush it with a bit of warm water dish soap in it then flow a bunch of clear warm water after it's done being used..it woks like a charm.
Thanks Ed, been working on commercial spray equipment for the past 30 years
I really enjoyed this video. I’ve got to get my paint sprayer out & test it. I really appreciate how you explained all the different assemblies that could be issues. I’m subscribing 😊👍
Thanks a bunch. I'm working on some new projects now.
Good one! I learned some good information. That thing has a crankshaft, rod, piston and a needle and seat (ck ball and seat) Lol. Awesome Rooster 🐓
Raley you know I appreciate that you watched, anything you need holler
Lol love the look of the tool box.. great video as always bud
Man you have no idea how much that means to me, thanks so much for watching
Thumbs up just don't seem like enough buddy that looks like a real chore I got to go drink a beer to ya ! 🍺
Woo-hoo I'm with ya brother best comment ever.
very educational, i do appreciated, thank you.
Thanks for the feedback glad it helped
Look at Rooster being a trendsetter, next thing we know never times gonna want a paint-splattered toolbox.
Hey fella, Yes Sir everybody going to want one like that soon.
Dang man, never knew how these things worked. Still need to report the customer to the lawn mower detective for “tool abuse!”
Yeah buddy not that difficult its a simple pump
Maybe it would be easier to paint the rest of your tool box and shop white 😂. Great job Rusty!!!
Thank you sir
That took some patience brother, I would be telling the customer to clean his own pump, that was nasty
Hey Steve, these things can be finicky but all in all not bad to work on
That's why you need to clean the inlet hose with water after every use
You Dog-Gone right on that Robert, clean it up good when done with it and store it with mineral spirits in the fluid section.
Rooster,
what size is that prime nut that attaches to the primer hose
sorry fella I dont know off hand
Nice repair rooster! Looks like you've done it before. What a messy project! I would rather work on a greasy engine.🇺🇸 Roger 👍
Thanks for watching Roger, yes sir I have worked on my fair share of this type equipment
They are worth the money because they are not cheap. I fixed one on time made 750 on it crazy
Thanks a bunch fella I appreciate you watching
Well done Ruster good video
Man oh man I actually love working on these things thanks so much for watching
Hello, good afternoon, how do you change the drain valve?
Drive the roll pin out of the prime knob then unthread the valve assembly
I have a 2105, is there a painter filter intallled anywhere?
Hey fella the best I remember the ep2105 had a filter on the underside of the machine
Not 100% positive
I looked I could not find it. The newer 2105 I believe did that’s just some basic research I’ve done thank you for your comment
@@TheRustyRooster in regards to the 2105 that I don’t believe has a filter I figured something out. I have a older sprayer I can unscrew the housing where the filter goes in and the threads seem to be close if not the same that are on the 2105 on the intake hose. I’m going to fab something up, maybe use a bushing not sure I think I can make it work ha ha. Love the vintage Graco sprayer though
Meant to say love the vintage Grayco gun.
You got clean like this after every use?
No, just a good flush after each use. The one I was working on had not been properly maintained.
Any experience with a wagner procoat? Cant get it to prime. Only used it on 1 job yrs ago.
Yes they a pain in the backside. Try and force prime it with garden hose if no luck clean the valves.
Thanks. I cleaned the intake valve last night. Had a bunch of old paint on it. I will try running water through it first then paint if it goes well. Do you recommend armor pump oil after each use? I did notice small amounts of rust on valve as well. I appreciate the help
Pump armor is fine if you don't have that windshield cleaner or antifreeze . I store sprayers with mineral spirits in pump.
well that made a difference paint all over instead of oil but a good job rooster one question could you have put the parts through the ultrasonic cleaner
Thanks, yes I could have ran the parts through the ultrasonic but I think lacquer thinner worked better to soften the dry paint
Im workinging ona 1620
Hope ya get it going. Good luck with it
Hey rooster not sure if you still monitor this but mine started smoking. Kept adding separating oil trying to get it to move freely. Now it won’t turn on at all. Hope I didn’t fry the engine
Crap once you let the smoke out of the motor, it's all over
@@TheRustyRooster yeah it’s toast 😅 time to pick up a new one and take better care of it. I always send water through it till it’s clear. Maybe I’m missing something
@an80sguy_ with latex paint flush with water until clear, then I pull mineral spirits into the pump
@@TheRustyRoosterohhhhh thank you. Bought a new Graco today, about $380 or so after tax. Will be taking much better care of this one. Thanks for the maintenance tip!
@@TheRustyRoosterI imagine some will come out into the paint next time you use it. I guess just have a separate bucket to spray it into
Did everything still won't pump???
Just some bubble's
Force prime the pump with water then see if it will draw from bucket
Why not use paint thinner?
On larger cleanups i will use thinner but on small jobs carb cleaner works fine its acetone in an aerosol can
can you make a video thanks
Editing one for ya now... thanks
