Sir! We The Türks are not colonialists or imperialists. Unlike Westerners! We bring justice and peace.
Let me give you a simple example.
At the end of the First World War, we had to surrender Jerusalem to the British, and from that day on, those lands forgot peace. People who lived together for centuries forgot about peace. The holy lands turned into a bloodbath. We are Türks, we do not plunder, we do not label people as second class because of their religion and skin color, and we do not bow down.
Our job is not easy, but we are Türks.... Being a Türk is difficult because you fight with the world. It's harder not to be a Türk, because you sholud fight with a Türks. Respect!

Thank you and your sources for extremely valuable information about the ongoing situation in Syria. Some bits are somewhat puzzling (Russians building a base in the mountains without a port and airport???) but all the rest makes good sense, really.
If the HTS regime can't pay salaries, then it's already half way to its end.
The SDF won't surrender. I know they had been trying to gain some time with "overtures" to HTS but there's no way that they will accept what those neo-ISIS demand.
Very intrigued about what is Iran scheming. They have gained a lot of legitimacy for their support of Palestine and it seems to me that toppling Turco-taliban puppets, especially once they lost their initial fad and people becomes aware of what they actually are, both in terms of totalitarianism and mafioso nature, should not be that hard.

I have had a huge number of exchanges about this and I will try and do a podcast if I get the time later today or perhaps tomorrow. Yes Latakia is insane. Here is the thread of a conversation with a secular Syrian friend who is fairly rational but there is more to it than this but I haven't got my head around it yet:
[19:17, 1/24/2025] William: Something is happening in Syria
      [19:17, 1/24/2025] A: On the phone.
[19:19, 1/24/2025] A: So far, lots of news, but could only be classified as rumours, mainly talking about HTS withdrawal from the coastal area.
What is for certain, though, is that people are having a huge reaction.
      [19:19, 1/24/2025] William: Yes that's what I hear
[19:19, 1/24/2025] William: They are pulling out
[19:20, 1/24/2025] William: Will let you know if I hear anything more
[19:21, 1/24/2025] A: Our team has classified this news as rumours, so far.
      We're still awaiting proper confirmation.
[19:27, 1/24/2025] William: I hear that the HTS fighters have withdrawn but they have been replaced by Security guys in black masks and police. But the fact that the fighters have withdrawn is causing excitement amongst the locals who are celebrating
[19:29, 1/24/2025] A: This news is still qualified as speculation.
There is a theory that HTS is behind the rumours, so that people go out celebrating, and firing weapons in the air, so that HTS knows where the hidden weapons are 😂
[19:32, 1/24/2025] William: Thanks. Curious business. But there has been a bit of fighting in the coastal regions. Maybe they want to pull back from Latakia and concentrate their resources on the Kurds for the moment, where the oil is. They need money 💰
[19:38, 1/24/2025] A: We have heard of clashes at certain areas, but nothing widescale.
[19:46, 1/24/2025] William: This from a guy close to HTS verbatim: the reality is the government sent their official minister of interior and the militia stepped back out of the town in order to show the civilian is civilian way.
There's propaganda that Mahr Al Assad is coming. But this is seizing the moment because the Saudi foreign minister was in Damascus
      [20:03, 1/24/2025] A: Maher's one is definitely a rumour.
We have seen images of MoI's troopers in Lattakia. Still, no confirmation of major withdrawals.
People are simply firing in the air, anyway.
Curfew imposed in Jableh now, as per one piece of news.
[20:03, 1/24/2025] A: People are simply quite tense, so they are over reacting...
[20:04, 1/24/2025] William: Thanks dear friend. That's helpful
[20:31, 1/24/2025] William: This from my Christian Syrian friend:
      Spoken to many Syrians...
      The situation still murky
The leadership is ok.. speak to the outside world to be recognised and cancel the economic sanctions....
But HTS individuals are out of control...
      No one knows
      What's next...
      Security at its lowest point..
But people happy to get rid of 50s years of dictatorship

Also he does not work for the political party you mentioned, he was only invited by them to do a speech about Syria's situation under the Ceaser' s sanctions . Also yes he was always in favor of the government,so what? He can't? If he hated the Assad's government it will be fine with you but bc he supported it he's not good? What kind of mentality is that? It will only get worse. This "new government" sent someone to the economic forum where they discussed privatizing syrian oil, cotton, and furniture industries. Which means all socialized programs like Healthcare will inevitably be cut

      @NCFpeace  9 дней назад +3

Hasbara - Hebrew for explanation - is a public diplomacy technique which links information warfare with the strategic objectives of the Israeli state.
Is that what you are talking about?
It will be interesting to see if Israel honours its commitment to withdraw from Lebanon tomorrow.
If Israel thinks it is achieving anything through its information warfare it is sorely mistaken. As are you I guess.

What is going on is a pantomime, HTS is only a powerless front. This is a hiatus to protect the country from a devastating war. Jimmy
