I saw this man play with the Spokane symphony about 30+ years ago. The orchestra members were dressed up in their black formals. He was introduced as Mad Katz, so I've never known his real name. And, of couse, he came out with hole-y blue jeans and no shoes. It was a really fun evening of music for the audience and the entire orchestra. Glad I stumbled onto this video.

I've known *Madcat* for over 45 years. Simply amazing! I should point out that he has played in bands with Brubeck's son Chris-and toured with Dave Brubeck himself.

Me Too! , although not ongoing. I met Peter in 1976 (wow 46 years ago) at a concert in Sarasota, FL (hometown) when the "Sky King" band was active. I was only a young teen and he brought me on stage before the concert to show me his stage rig and "microphone on wrist" set-up. Then at the after party we sat outside the home hosting on the seawall overlooking the bay and played harps until about 3 am. If you are from Ann Arbor, then from that far back you may also know Peter Spring? (plays guitar, sax, etc.) and used to play in duo with Peter. Peter played in my band around 1999 and we realized the connection. I emailed Peter and received a nice note back, recalling the concert and night we played harps that night.

Hi Madcat I saw you perform TAKE FIVE with Dave Brubeck at the Fox Theater in Redwood City about 10 years ago. That version of Take Five was really great! Your harmonica made it even more memorable. That song sounded like hearing a great movie soundtrack performed live. (Like The good, the bad and the Ugly) That was my second time seeing the Dave Brubeck Quartet and they sounded better than the first time I saw them at the Raddison in Sacramento, which was hard to believe. That was a great night. I'm a guitarist by the way. Thanks

Great rendition. Saw you in Seattle around 1976 or 1977 playing along with Brubeck and sons and thought you were playing a chromatic harp then. It was a great concert. Thanks for posting this wonderful rendition of Take Five!!!!

Peter, great to see you endorsing Seydel harps. I switched a couple of years back for their durability. I do still love the H brand tone, but what us po' folk pay for harps nowadays compared to in the 70's is ridiculous! Thanks for the video, & for the CORRECT pronunciation of "Seydel"! Also thanks to Seydel for producing great harps!
