You mentioned getting into hydroponics. I have been getting more into semi-hydroponics and would like to see ideas you have with that. Maybe some 3D printed self watering pots. Also, I love terrariums.
I am all about all of this and support this direction you're going 100% I've got single plants down but am definitely more eager to hear your coverage on a variety of terrariums. I found this channel recently and have been binging and taking lots of notes and points to ask about. Thanks!
I'm so excited for 24! But crap, I see aquariums and terrariums in my future😂. We Love you and your channel, so keep up the good work and don't be so hard on yourself. I definitely would be interested in buying propagated plants and the 3d printed things. Also the terrarium is a great idea as like pre-built one is beautiful and they make great gifts
I really love watching you grow so big. I remember when i first met you , you had around like 20k subs now u have 200k. Congrats!! hope 2024 will be great for you
One experiment that I would like to see personally is testing the optimal/minimum amount of time it takes to root a plant cutting in water and then transfer it to semi hydro (Leca, Pon, etc) I'm really impatient so I transfer my plants to Pon too quickly and some of them can handle it and others don't so it would be neat to get some data for that. Similarly, transferring a plant from soil to water to semi-hydro would also be a good experiment idea. I find that most of the soil roots die off when I do this so I wonder if it make sense to cut them off from the beginning and grow new roots or try to transfer the old roots, and finding a sweet spot in terms of timing for the best results. I'm personally really interested in semi-hydro I think its the biggest innovation in plant growing so anything relating to that is something I'd love to see. I hope 2024 is a good year!
I have an experiment idea: I believe plants can recover from minor root rot themselves. But everything online says I have to deal with it asap or my whole plant will die. I feel like my plants that have very minor rot do better when I just let them be and fix whatever I did to cause it in the first place. It actually does more damage to completely uproot, mess with the roots, repot, etc, but I could definitely be wrong
i agree with what you are saying, ive had plants that are mid rot on some roots and i change my care and they recover as well as when ive repotted ive found old rotted roots that have dried up and new roots comming out right above where it stopped
More videos on Terrariums would be pretty cool. It's something I'm looking to get into and it's a nice way to great some life in a limited space. I don't have a 3D printer, by the way, but I have friends that do.
Looking forward to your content in 2024!!!! Your passion and enthusiasm for the plant world is contagious biased on all of the heartfelt comments!😊 Keep up the good work!!! How about creating Techplant terrarium kits for sale?❤
You are a wealth of information; thank you! Love the experiments (would love not see some with lighting; I am playing with all kinds of different coleus and their coloring) , general plant info, all of the different kinds of plants, great close ups and SO much more! A few thoughts/comments: Don't move the camera so fast, if yo can use a 3-D printer with wood, go for it, we have WAY too much plastic, could you sell your largest plants (for a pretty penny) to local businesses? And YES to the terrariums and tanks!
I use a 3D printer to make custom perfectly fitting semi hydro inserts for my nice ceramic pots so I'm hyped for 3D printing content. I keep watching your channel for the more nerdy things, learning about about the biology of plants and so on. Love watching your experiments.
Hey! Love the videos and I've enjoyed your channel for quite some time now. Something I've always wondered but never had the dedicated space to experiment with is if you can graft indoor plants successfully. I'm really interested in learning about tree grafting and wonder if something similar can be done with indoor plants.
Its possible, I tried once but failed due to a multitude of reasons but a lot of commenters had great educational comments and so i will try again and talk about how to make it work and why others are not as easy to make work!
Yeees, I love the experiments! I am mostly interessted in aroids, as I thing most plant people in generell mostly have them, but I am sure the terrarium and aquarium content will be fun to watch as well. For Ideas: maybe comparing the groth on mosspole vs plank vs bamboo stake
@@TechplantChannel awesome thanks! I’ll give you a culture of hydei fruit flies to feed your sundews if you’d like too. Another experiment could be showing 2 sundews that are the same size and feeding one but not the other over like anywhere from 2-6 months would be so cool to see. Same with pitcher plants cause I only have one nepenthes right now but I bought mealworms from a reptile store and just loaded it up to see how much it would increase growth vs just my natural fungus gnat population lol
Nice! I love that you are doubling down because I absolutely love your videos and am always looking for new ones to drop. I’ve only been watching your channel for about a year now but I always come back and watch your older videos because I can’t wait for more. ok here’s an idea possibly for an experiment or a question, or just maybe you can make up an experiment out of it. 20 years ago I got the idea of rooting out spider plants in food coloring water, I thought it would be cool to see different colored leaves, concept came from broccoli experiment in food coloring as a kid, anyways they didn’t take up the color of the water into their leaves, so it’s like the roots filtered it out or something. Anyways maybe you can make something up out of that. Glad you’re not stopping posting, me and my family love watching your channel.
oh you got me !!! LMFAO . OK so i have a wild suggestion. remember the time you tried to splice a pothos and monstera? OK, so, take several kinds of monsteras (with matching stem sizes) and splice different nodes together to make a grafted/spliced variety. I think the reason the pothos one didnt work is bc they werent the same kind of plant. Be so cool to see a regular monstera plant start growing Thai Con, albo, verigated etc. ALSO congrats on the new baby! Hope all went well.
I love all the ideas you shared! Like you, I love anything nature/plant based. I would love to see you delve more into terrariums and aquariums, if you decide to. I love how much you care about making *quality* products, and would love to support your business and family if you do end up with 3D printed products, plant care products, or plants for sale. 😊 Looking forward to even more in 2024! (Please don't block me😂)
Do you plan on revisiting your spagnum moss experiment? I remember you saying something about putting a kiddie pool outside and seeing if it would be possible to grow moss. I would even buy a kit for that if you ever sold one. Super excited for the new projects this year!
Used to know you on fb, been cool to see you grow this channel over the years. Wishing you all the best and lmk if you need any shopify advice I’ve run various stores for a few years now.
Sounds like it's time to do a ton of cuttings, propagate in water to root and sell them to further fund your ideas that you want to do. Not to mention it'll help create new spaces once you start selling. And it sounds like there's a lot of people who would be interested in buying. Just a thought.
I absolutely love your channel. I’m here for the long haul. I would love to see alternative ways to propagate some plants. For instance have you ever propagated snake plants in perlite or moss. I love anything you post cause I usually learn something new. Good luck with the new baby.
Terrariums are where I want to go this year. ❤ to see decent sizes and the substrate vs false bottoms. Best and safest charcoal to use. Many questions. Looks like my basement 😂. Need ways to display them especially in terrariums. Thanks
I have found your channel informative and entertaining since I found it last year. I am excited to see it progress into aquascaping. I do have access to a 3D printer but would also be interested in ordering stuff. Having houseplants and fish tanks and terrariums at home makes me happy, so yeah.. do it. Thank you!
Your experiments are really invaluable, i cant wait to see your backlog. Going from one to two kids is a major adjustment, i implore you to learn from my experience and prioritize things that are self sufficient and don't suck your time. Having two toddlers is so incredibly exhausting and time consuming as well as rewarding. Prioritizing them, yourselves and your relationship is the way to go. Time becomes the most valuable thing in the world, hands down. I would love aquarium content, im wanting to start using one for my kindergartener to have a fish to take care if, but also for water props. I haven't started yet because i don't know which plants are safe to cut and put in with fish.
You should sell your used t shirts 💀 jokes aside I will watch anything you post man fr, you make anything interesting. Also I don’t mind if you still something random every now and then. Hope 2024 is awesome for you, best of luck with school and with your family!
i love your channel. I don't have a 3d Printer. The most helpful videos are your experiments and how to stake the monsteras to boards. Some ideas for the channel: I have no idea on how to grow my huge pothos plants vertically up and that would be helpful. Experiments with liquid fertilizers would be helpful. Also how to read the water quality report from your water company. Should I add stresscoat+ to my tap water for plants?
Man !! I will support you as well but sadly I can’t buy anything from you because I am from Kuwait but tbh I like your channel and I wish that I can stole some plants from you 😂
I'm so glad ur not giving up on TechPlant! I think selling ur merch would b fab! I would love 2 b able 2 make my own well built terrariums as cheaply as possible & use found items where possible. Maybe showing us how 2 clean & use driftwood, stones, moss (real moss not decorative fake moss)? I do not have a 3-D printer but I kniw those who do & I mifht b interested in buying 1 if I could weigh the benefits against the investment costs & upkeep vs buying product from other sources? I have been asking everyone if plants can b sustained indefinitely in perlite & what would b the best way 2 do it? Which, if any fertilizers can/must I use? Would moss poles work in that setup the same as they work in Leca or Pon? But I have really not gotten any real answers 2 these questions. Can u help me with any of this! Idk, does any of this help? 🤎 ur channel❣
fantastic suggestions. Im working on DIY terrerium kits as we speak and cooking up ways to make assembly very easy but with a fantastic finished product
I want ur prop boxes with lights directly on the transparant lid, and the mix you put in them. Also, kids are so expensive, and they just keep getting more expensive as they get older.
I would love to see terrarium content! I just made my first mini terrarium a month or two ago and I love it. I would love to learn more. On 3D printers I just got rid of mine, but I can still access it and I am very interested in 3D printed moss poles. Thirdly, I’m very curious about terrariums, both as a fish habitat, and for growing plants under water. Your content is excellent, and I’m happy that you are expanding in to new areas. Congrats on your baby!
A test of my friend plant theory would be wicked. I did claim that e.g. Basil loves to grow with pepper plants. Throw some seeds together in pots, then control plants on their own. Should not take too much space. I became crazy from too much under water footage. I don't get what I see, confuses me. Always. Big congratz to your family expansion! Hope everything works out well, esp. if you give up sleeping soon :)
oh man if you sold plants id be on that so quick you have awesome plants I don't know where you find some of them we are in the same area and everything lol
Can’t promise I’d have the money to throw your way but I’m VERY interested in designs or products for better moss poles, planks, etc. With your experience and experimentation I would trust that you would be producing improvements on what’s currently out there. (As an aside: I don’t own a 3D printer but one of my local library branches has one!) I rarely buy plants online but that’s another area where I would be happy to support YOU specifically when I do.
discord for a community might be cool. definitely be interesting to see more terrariums and aquariums; just experiment. don't mind the sponsors we can always skip them ;)
Selling printed moss-poles to guys overseas (like me in the EU, Germany) is to complicated to import and to expensive because of the taxes. I hope you sell the stl-files as well. I have da 3D printer :) good luck for 2024 and baby!
lol its a bit late, everything plants had some family stuff and I wanna time it with him so viewers can see both! I think hes returning soon so it shouldn't be long before we resume!
I appreciate the honesty and commitment to this channel. Personally I'd love to see a video about cable management/electrical set up in a plant room of that size. It's most likely not going to be a big video but I would find it interesting. I would also love to see more experiments again. DIY designs and guide videos would be cool, but I wouldn't be able to do 3D printing since I don't have a printer. Terrariums would be awesome, but I'm pretty biased toward fish tanks and the like lol. Be careful with Seachem Excel, that's powerful stuff and it's really easy to accidentally kill your fish with. The long tank looks like fun, looking forward to seeing the process! Lastly, I'd love to see if it's possible to make sculptures out of pothos vines, like training it to do some cool shapes. Edit: if you need any help with fish stuff feel free to hit me up! I've been in the aquarium hobby for a bit now and planted tanks are my go to, I'd be more than happy to help out.
Love your content, videos have helped me so much!! I would definitely buy 3d printed moss poles. I’ve gotten obsessed with philodendrons and really want to let them climb! Also managed to score a baby strawberry shake philo and want to let her climb. My grandma is deep in the gesnariads and gave me a bunch of really cool hybrids. Happy growing!
I’d buy non cedar wood trellises or planks. I’m allergic to cedar and having a hard time finding anything non-cedar. Id buy a space friendly terrarium but don’t have a 3d printer. I’d also purchase cuttings from you ❤ Aquascaping is spendy (I should know I have tanks). If you want suggestions for the videos that get the most views as far aquarium content. Tank progression and aquascaping videos get the most views. On my channel or TikTok the ones that get the most views are carpeting plant info (so aquascaping plants), progression of my 55 and products (petstore info). My friends RUclips channel is an education channel and he says he’s done posting. Beginner videos aren’t getting views I noticed. People want to see the pretty visual stuff. Aquascaping is fun to watch 😊 - I was considering turning my aqua channel into a house plant and aquatic plant channel. I’ve noticed a lot of what I’ve learned over many years of aquatics helps me with troubleshooting houseplant problems. Instead of beginner videos I was thinking advanced videos… because no one breaks down the process of troubleshooting tank problems or houseplant issues. A how to be a plant detective video may be a good one. I’m too lazy to pursue it at the moment though
so much great info, my designs are based on pine to keep them very affordable I have ideas for interfacing with the soil so they dont rot out! stay tuned i think you will like them!
@@TechplantChannel that would be perfect!!!! I understand the reason cedar is favored. It’s rot resistant and aesthetically appealing. Finding a lot of companies aren’t disclosing their material source or they do but are using cedar. Eventually I will need supports for my philos and monstera. So if you come up with something I’d purchase! I’m not a fan of moss poles 😂
Also an experiment with Rockwool and Leca. I've been experimenting with it, and researching it, but can't find much about it. You can use rockwool as a passive hydro growing medium, and even mix it witht he leca, for plants that need a bit more moisture. Sorry for all the suggestions, hopefully its usefull. But yes, hydroponics in general really interest me. I've been trying different mediums, like leca, vulkastrat which is a european product, and rockwool and mixes of all. Hydroponics and moss poles is where it's at. Something else I've been thinking about is a rockwool moss pole. That would be such a great alternative to spaghnum if it works, but I don't know. So these are my last suggestions I swear. :P Big fan of your channel and experiments.
After 40 + years of keeping over 100 tropical houseplants (usually 300-600 + lol) I purged them all , now I'm into Cacti, Euphorbias and other Succulents, I never realized how diverse they are. I'm now growing them from seed as well. I'd love to see some unique ways to display and grow them . If you ever sell at flea markets, I'd love to know your market skills and hear strategies . I love anything planty D.I.Y. .
Experiments of plants in leca/ Semi Hydro! People do leca content but no one adds science stuff it it! That would be new and something I’m totally interested in watching!

the terrariums you showed in the video look super cool. your drive is really inspiring, keep it up!!
I got like 2 more i just created so look forward to them!!
I hope 2024 is a good year!
these are great ideas!
Nice, I think i will make files for sale for sure!
If you ever do find yourself at the point of selling plants, I'm looking. Great channel and great work!
I think its a real possibility this year!
Plant and aquarium content in one channel? Yes!!!!!!
HECK YEAH!
I use a 3D printer to make custom perfectly fitting semi hydro inserts for my nice ceramic pots so I'm hyped for 3D printing content. I keep watching your channel for the more nerdy things, learning about about the biology of plants and so on. Love watching your experiments.
oh my god if you make those glass cases and sell them I WOULD BUY im really into orchids and need stuff like that
I think I would need to look into more expensive glass to survive shipping. Im using picture glass which holds just fine but it is fragile
The videos I like more from you are the ones that follow an experiment during a long time, not small update videos. 🙌
Good to hear! I have a few going right now that cover a few months!
@@TechplantChannel Nice, I wait patiently for your videos, and have a big smile when I see there's one. Keep the good work.
Would love an experiment on propagation of sundews, like leaf cuttings on water or moss and whole leaf or chopped leaf pieces.
I did a bunch in the past but i dont think i really filmed it, I will start soem again!
I have a bunch of plants that are getting too big as well. I would love to see how you eventually deal with yours.
Im considering taking down the shelves and building a giant wooden frame box thing and making a kind of open terrarium
Great idea! ❤
sounds fun! could be a cool way to spice up the plant!
Sell plant posters. It can be physical or digital copy of it (for those outside the U.S). Also congratulations on you future baby 💕🌱
oh you got me !!!
I might just do it in the basement in a large tote lol, but then this summer I will, adding to the list now to stay organized
Used to know you on fb, been cool to see you grow this channel over the years. Wishing you all the best and lmk if you need any shopify advice I’ve run various stores for a few years now.
I would love it if you had some tips and tricks! please feel free to reach out!
I found your channel fairly recently. I love it!!!
Happy to hear!
How about a short update on the lemon trees you grew a few years back? Are they doing okay?
Sounds like it's time to do a ton of cuttings, propagate in water to root and sell them to further fund your ideas that you want to do. Not to mention it'll help create new spaces once you start selling. And it sounds like there's a lot of people who would be interested in buying. Just a thought.
I absolutely love your channel. I’m here for the long haul. I would love to see alternative ways to propagate some plants. For instance have you ever propagated snake plants in perlite or moss. I love anything you post cause I usually learn something new. Good luck with the new baby.
Awwwwwgh!!! 😊
SMILES ALL AROUND MAAAN!
Here’s to you! 🥂
Thank you so much for the support!
Terrariums are where I want to go this year. ❤ to see decent sizes and the substrate vs false bottoms. Best and safest charcoal to use. Many questions. Looks like my basement 😂. Need ways to display them especially in terrariums. Thanks
Im from Romania🇹🇩 and im a plant lover and i like your chanel! ☺️
I appreciate the support!
I have found your channel informative and entertaining since I found it last year. I am excited to see it progress into aquascaping. I do have access to a 3D printer but would also be interested in ordering stuff. Having houseplants and fish tanks and terrariums at home makes me happy, so yeah.. do it. Thank you!
glad to hear!
I haven't started yet because i don't know which plants are safe to cut and put in with fish.
yeah it will probably take a bit to adjust, right now almost all of my time spent on this is when my kid is sleeping lol
Thanks for what you do. Congrats on new baby. Happy 2024.
Grow tent terrarium? Hells yes,
I hope it turns out good lol
I challenge you to convert a glass coffee table into an aquarium with a water feature. I'm currently trying to figure out how to do the same.
I will look for one!
Man !! I will support you as well but sadly I can’t buy anything from you because I am from Kuwait but tbh I like your channel and I wish that I can stole some plants from you 😂
Just by you being here you are supporting me! Thank you
Give this man all your comments, likes and subscription bells - fund this man’s obsession and addiction, for your entertainment!
almost gave me a heart attack 😂😂phewww 😂 I love this channel
SORRY!! I see you in the comments a lot and really appreciate your continued support and interactions!
@@TechplantChannel no prob! 😊
😂 Love this intro. Congrats on baby 🎉😊 Maybe create more cool automate devices to water. how about self-growing plants with water hose
damn I keep forgetting this lmao, I will try and do this with the hydroponics
I want ur prop boxes with lights directly on the transparant lid, and the mix you put in them. Also, kids are so expensive, and they just keep getting more expensive as they get older.
New subscriber! Looking forward to watching your back log as well as everything mad you continue to do 😂
Excited to see what’s to come!! 🎉 Congrats on your new baby!🥳 Why aren’t you selling your anthurium babies? 💚
I would love to see more stuff for terrariums
I'd like to buy your plants! 😊 I just found your channel today wjile looking how to plant lemon seeds the best way.
Congrats on your baby!
i am there to support you ......lots of love
Thank you so much 😀
My local library offers free 3D printing services. Not sure how common that is.
its getting more and more common, same with maker spaces
A test of my friend plant theory would be wicked. I did claim that e.g. Basil loves to grow with pepper plants.
Throw some seeds together in pots, then control plants on their own.
Should not take too much space.
I became crazy from too much under water footage. I don't get what I see, confuses me. Always.
Big congratz to your family expansion! Hope everything works out well, esp. if you give up sleeping soon :)
Here’s an idea that I’d love to see! Harking back to your older experiment videos, how does the amount of light affect variegation?
oh man if you sold plants id be on that so quick you have awesome plants I don't know where you find some of them we are in the same area and everything lol
Nice! There has been a few other wisconsin ppl who have mentioned this so pick up option would be nice. Or even trades!
Can’t promise I’d have the money to throw your way but I’m VERY interested in designs or products for better moss poles, planks, etc. With your experience and experimentation I would trust that you would be producing improvements on what’s currently out there. (As an aside: I don’t own a 3D printer but one of my local library branches has one!) I rarely buy plants online but that’s another area where I would be happy to support YOU specifically when I do.
discord for a community might be cool. definitely be interesting to see more terrariums and aquariums; just experiment. don't mind the sponsors we can always skip them ;)
ive been considering this im just scared someone will come in and start yelling racist stuff or something while im away at work!
Selling printed moss-poles to guys overseas (like me in the EU, Germany) is to complicated to import and to expensive because of the taxes. I hope you sell the stl-files as well. I have da 3D printer :) good luck for 2024 and baby!
Nice, If I sell the poles I will sell the files too
@@TechplantChannel do the mosspoles have a thread so that two or three can be screwed together to extend them?
Congrats on the baby. The experiments is how i found the channel. P.s. wheres the pothos race?? 😆
Nvm, u just mentioned it lol
lol its a bit late, everything plants had some family stuff and I wanna time it with him so viewers can see both!
Also will buy your plants
I’d buy non cedar wood trellises or planks. I’m allergic to cedar and having a hard time finding anything non-cedar. Id buy a space friendly terrarium but don’t have a 3d printer. I’d also purchase cuttings from you ❤
Aquascaping is spendy (I should know I have tanks). Aquascaping is fun to watch 😊
- I was considering turning my aqua channel into a house plant and aquatic plant channel.
Dude! You got me! You’re THE MAN! Well… one of the mans. You know I love Jeff and Lethius, too!
lmao for sure! Thank you, and glad to see you supporting other plant ppl!! there is always room for more!
Pleeeease do terrariums! I convinced my partner to buy me a couple glass jars and now I have to deliver 😂
I love anything planty D.I.Y. .
Euphorbias are awsm
whoa. I would watch a youtube channel of this. I dont own a euphorbias but now i need one.
taking notes!
Experiments of plants in leca/ Semi Hydro! People do leca content but no one adds science stuff it it! That would be new and something I’m totally interested in watching!
May we habe another update on your lemon trees you started from.seeds? Please????? 😊
Terrarium and aquarium content would be awesome. Getting into 3D printing would be interesting too.
Gotta schedule that burnout lol 😅
lmaoooo, happy to see you in the comments, hope you are doing well!
Got a 3D printer and yes to the terrariums
super glad you're sticking around!
for sure! Thanks for watching!
Nooo it's time for the pothos race update! :D
This saturday we are dropping one!
Terranium be cool yess
happy to hear that, also thank you for the long time support, ive seen you in the comments many times and i appreciate it every time!
Thanks!
Holy cats! Thank you so much for the support! This is very kind of you!!!!! I'll try my best to keep making good content!
Sooo glad you’re soldering on!
heck yeah!!!
Yaas we need the 3d printed sheet. No we want to buy ready made parts if u need a European reseller let me know 😉
I will remember this if i can get some designs established! If i dont, in the future just reach out again!
you really had me scared for a second
lol sorry!! Thanks for watching!
