I have not lived in Detroit and Michigan, which is my birth home in thirty Four years, however, I came back for visits over the years and loved the progress Mayor Mike Duggan has made in bringing Detroit back up to high standards, especially Downtown, midtown and other neighborhoods. God bless you Mayor Duggan, i hope that who ever takes your your place, they keep the momentum going that you started in turning Detroit around even though it has a long way to go. Good luck in your next your next endeavor where ever it may lead you.

I have lived in Detroit for over 24 years, he has been by far the best mayor we could’ve hope for, I’m sad to hear he’s not running for reelection. I’m afraid what’s going to come next, and I hope it’s not back to the old Detroit, as he has built a coalition of the whole metro area successfully, something no one ever else did. I hope he runs for governor, though, he is by far the best candidate to win it.

Build up downtown area and to hell with the rest of Detroit. Just like DC surrounded by slums and projects. The only reason you were able to do anything is because of 5m a month from each of the casinos...
People forget it was two black mayors in office before him. Both could not preform their duties being the city had a financial manager that called the shots. Nobody in Detroit black voted & Mike won. All the years he been in office we only saw Downtown Detroit & mid town be redevelopment. He never told non of the big companies & business owners to build things in the inner city to give children a chance with programs & trades. All the money in Detroit is spent downtown & know one of color own nothing down their that’s major business. Hopefully The people of Detroit vote this time & vote a black woman in office to help Detroit grow in a better way besides doing business with the big corporations to make all the money & they not giving no kick back to the inner cities.
