He's basically just a FIFA player on steroids
Nicaragua also has purple in their flag but very little, the reason it is so rare is that purple was historically a royal colour and purple dyes were the most expensive and so it was far cheaper to have a flag without any purple on it.
The only way they could produce it was through the use of sea snails or something like that, and you needed 1000s of them to get just a little bit of purple dye, so mass producing a flag with purple on was very difficult

For any budding vexilloligists out there, I have a feeling Jack got a lot of his trivia here from a book by Tim Marshall called Worth Dying For: The Power And Politics of Flags. Its a great read and I would recommend it to anyone interested in flags!

the red flag with 2 guys, one cutting the other´s head off is the flag of the Empire of Benin.
Dominica is in fact not the only country with the colour purple in it. Nicaragua also uses the colour purple in it's rainbow!

It's a very good talent knowing all flags, I'd say I know about 150ish, but knowing all of them is very impresive.

One thing I am usually pretty good at is even though I don't speak any other languages, I can almost always tell what a language is just from hearing or reading a little bit. Which I don't think is particularly impressive but I've never met anyone else that could do that as well

I know all the flags, would get em first try. I did it surprisingly easily, took me a few hours. I think i have some sort of photographic memory
Would it be easy for you to study for a test. Could you easily become top of your class if you just read the books? I want to know how this photographic memory works.
There are 3 Square flags though Niger, Switzerland, and The Vatican City.
Saint Lucia 🇱🇨 is also my favourite flag alongside Albania 🇦🇱. I got 8 out of 9 but got Slovenia 🇸🇮 and not Niue 🇳🇺

it amazes me. not because he is so good, quite the opposite. in the eastern world, all he knows is common knowledge. even i know all of that. And americans still are fascinated at him

I have memorised every national flag most us state flags and a lot of territory flags in total its nearing 300

Video games that show the flags of the world have made learning about them in geography obsolete. I learned 90% of my world flag knowledge from the 2010 World Cup game

Picks the most recognisable flags in vexillology or the extremely unique ones that all flag people know.
If you knew ANYTHING about flags, beginner, intermediate or extreme. You SHOULD know the majority these flags by memory.
Slovakia and Slovenia are identical to the average person and are easily mislabeled by the beginner vexillologist.
I learnt where all the counties of England are, states of the USA, where all the countries and territories are in the world, all the flags of countries in the world. Just like being the guy where people just ask you and you give them the answer easily

i mean to be honest learning every country flag isn't that hard. But its still impressive and a cool talent to know. Its cool to know how far Jack came in form of Geography I've been a geography/flag/history nerd most of my life and it was so weird to meet someone not good at that topic just learn it i only know people who are good at it or bad at it no one who actually learnt that much.

I also did Sporcle daily from when I was 16-18, 6th Form life. Nearly 30 now, still can have a pretty good guess at most flags. And I got Slovenia right - Slovakia has like a Red/White Orthodox Cross on it's crest.
