The Australian redesign flag at 8:49 has the dots on the yellow star, because it is aboriginal Australian dot painting, and it is a symbol of aboriginal Australia.
Hi Jack, I just thought that I would let you know that the dots on the star on the Australian concept flag are referencing a style of art that was used by the traditional peoples of Australia, as well as the colour scheme which which is heavily inspired by colours used in traditional Aboriginal paintings. :)

hi jack! at 4:18 there was a flag u didnt recognize, im pretty sure that is the flag of the Åland Islands, an autonomous region of Finland. It consists of around 6500 islands if im correct.
U were close with the islands they have 6.700

5:38 the simple maine flag is the old one 🥲 and practically everyone in maine only ever flies the old tree and star flag, i was just there and in every gift store there were a billion stickers and shirts sold, the citizens of maine basically ignore that it was ever changed to the navy blue blanket one now because the old one was so unique

I love the flag of Nauru 🇳🇷 it's so simple but has so much meaning. The line is the equator and the star is the island. The star is given 12 points to show Nauru's original 12 tribes and the white color is even supposed to symbolized their phosphate industry. Just goes to show less can be more in flag design

Personally I love the second one because it represents the native people (the Aboriginal people) with the colours on their flag(red, yellow and black) but I think it should include green blue and white colours for the other native people( the Torres Straight Island people) but overall it's a great flag with elements from the old flag and new things such as new colours and the boomerang representing the Aboriginal people and also the dots on the yellow star are from the aboriginal peoples painting(dot paintings)

I don't know if there are other comments saying this, but the dots on the Australian Flag Redesign at 8:50 are in reference to a traditional aboriginal art of dot painting. The artworks in this style are stunning
