So there’s a lot of comments saying how he’s so reliant on his souls, and people 80% chance may be right, but I think that he actually decided to bring his souls because he knows how hard Mario is to beat, and a plus is that they are Mario’s friends, even his brother, Mario wouldn’t want to hurt any of them. The reason why Sonic.EXE didn’t bring his souls is because he thinks he’s god and he thinks he’s so powerful he can do it on his own.

Round of applause for Mario, he stood his ground for the Mushroom Kingdom one last time even if it meant fighting his friends and family turned into reanimated puppets by a fiend wearing his face, even if he lost, he went out swingin’ and jumpin’. Honestly it’s cool to see he actually put up a good fight against his demonic counterpart, most .exes or doppelgängers alike normally are beyond the original’s power but that didn’t stop him.

I like how in the original, Sonic is actively running away. Likely to either stall or find a way to get the upper hand somehow. Whilst here, Mario just straight up goes face to face with this random eldritch being with what looks like no hesitation at all. A pretty accurate trait for him honestly.
Sonic also running could also be seen as a race/duel type of thing similar to what he does against Shadow or Metal Sonic especially since running is Sonic’s main trait. So in a way, both Sonic and Mario are dueling against their demonic imposters in the ways they best know how with their main traits and battle styles Edit: also wanted to point out that by dueling in their main traits and battle styles, they are trying to prove who is the better one. If 2 people claim to be the fastest, there can only be one and the only way to decide that is to race and to truly figure out who really is the fastest. If 2 players in a fighting game go in a 1v1 as the same character, the only way to decide who is the better player is to win that ditto battle. This mindset is essentially what is happening here with Sonic and Mario where Sonic and Sonic.EXE race to see who really is the faster and superior Sonic; meanwhile, Mario is battling in terms of power and combat battling to figure out who is the superior Super Mario.

genuinely one of the best songs i've ever heard, and definitely you and the team's magnum opus so far. so many incredible moments, especially the SMW2 motifs that hit ridiculously hard, the Time Attack reprise, Oogtar and Yoshi's part and the Athletic reprise... well the entire second half of the song just made me ascend again and again basically.

so i have like 1 or 2 theories about this 1: this takes place after the main week, of course after MARIO IS MISSING, since the souls are here, and Playstation 135 summoned the souls to try and get Mario's spirits down, which I'm assuming worked judging by the ending. 2: This takes place before the main week, and the souls are an illusion made by PS135, which I'm leaning more towards, since they kinda disappear and then reappear in the song.

Mario saw an eldritch murder demon, stared it down with its creepy ass eye, saw it use his friends as puppets, and said "I'm gonna punch it." My favorite part of the song is when Mario said "it's mirror modin' time" and beat the breaks off of PS135 and saved his friends. Truly a moment ever.

So, when I first heard this, it was just the audio. I was working and I just tried to guess what's going on and who's there. But then today, because I watched the video itself and the concept, it all hit me and it made me cry? I absolutely love this concept and idea of how powerful this song is because it's literally a final boss battle between Mario and his alternatives. You'd expect to win bc you've played through the entire song, but instead, you see that Mario fails. The buildup is amazing, the vocals and beats make me wanna sing along. I can vividly see everyone singing and moving in specific poses depending which part happens. I love this so much. I remember reading PS135's wiki on The Mario EXEcylopedia and it mentioned PS135's eye being vulnerable to fireballs and invincibility stars being able to kill PS135, so Mario would be able to harm PS135 since he has the fire flower here and if he gave PS135 an invincibility star, Mario would've won the battle.
Knowing that Oogtar is the only willing soul, PS135 probably had him get rid of all the Starmen in Dinosaur Land. If that didn't happen, Bowser probably took them as Fire said that the two of them made a deal.

I love this song, my favorite part is definitely when PS135 goes “THIS IS MIRROR MODE CONFRONTING YOURSELF MARIO MIX +FLP FT POLYFIELD MARIO”, that line went WAAAAY TOO HARD.
Its funny because in real life Mario completely surpassed sonic. But in terms of Fandom sonic has completely mopped the floor with Mario in fnf. But you single handedly made Mario more then just "a nock off of sonic songs" with your Mario mix's. You made Mario.exe a legitimate contender against sonic.exe and you did it in a way that feels like a passion project and not just for the sake of doing it for clout. Which is why I feel like your songs are so good. there is an extra level of care and attention to detail within the melodies that you incorporate within your songs that are very apparent. Keep it up.

so i have like 1 or 2 theories about this
1: this takes place after the main week, of course after MARIO IS MISSING, since the souls are here, and Playstation 135 summoned the souls to try and get Mario's spirits down, which I'm assuming worked judging by the ending.
2: This takes place before the main week, and the souls are an illusion made by PS135, which I'm leaning more towards, since they kinda disappear and then reappear in the song.
Theory 2 makes more sense because of the forest of illusions

So, when I first heard this, it was just the audio. I was working and I just tried to guess what's going on and who's there. But then today, because I watched the video itself and the concept, it all hit me and it made me cry? I absolutely love this concept and idea of how powerful this song is because it's literally a final boss battle between Mario and his alternatives. You'd expect to win bc you've played through the entire song, but instead, you see that Mario fails. The buildup is amazing, the vocals and beats make me wanna sing along. I can vividly see everyone singing and moving in specific poses depending which part happens. I love this so much. This is just a ramble by this point but omfg please keep making these cool Mario versions of songs!!!

This song is absolutly amazing! All the way from start to finish is absolute bangers! I just can't get enough of this song, this is just a true pump of adrenaline, along with that fact I can just imagine the fight between these 2 and with Mario getting more emotional and starting to break down when Luigi and Peach enter the fray. I think the only reason he relies on the souls is probably because in the super Mario show they pretty much never left each other behind which is why he brings the souls with him pretty much everywhere
He didn't always use them. He didn't have them in "Powered Up" or in both versions of "MAR10 Day".
Ps135 doesn't rely on the souls. I think he uses them because he knows how strong mario is, and that they can tear down his spirt, in which worked.
I remember reading PS135's wiki on The Mario EXEcylopedia and it mentioned PS135's eye being vulnerable to fireballs and invincibility stars being able to kill PS135, so Mario would be able to harm PS135 since he has the fire flower here and if he gave PS135 an invincibility star, Mario would've won the battle.
Knowing that Oogtar is the only willing soul, PS135 probably had him get rid of all the Starmen in Dinosaur Land. If that didn't happen, Bowser probably took them as Fire said that the two of them made a deal.

Its funny because in real life Mario completely surpassed sonic. But in terms of Fandom sonic has completely mopped the floor with Mario in fnf. But you single handedly made Mario more then just "a nock off of sonic songs" with your Mario mix's. You made Mario.exe a legitimate contender against sonic.exe and you did it in a way that feels like a passion project and not just for the sake of doing it for clout. Which is why I feel like your songs are so good. there is an extra level of care and attention to detail within the melodies that you incorporate within your songs that are very apparent. Keep it up.
