I also like the small but charming Sherman Oaks gardens and the Self Realization gardens in Malibu and Encinitas. Reservations are now required though like the Getty museums ever since the pandemic. So many beautiful places.
We are members of Descanso Gardens so that we may avoid the 90 Mile rule and go to our member gardens free in Encinitas and San Diego. Thank you for posting this because we have not been to the first two gardens you posted on this video. Of course, we love Huntington !!!
As always , The Curious Princess is a delight 😊Out of all of the gardens in the video, South Coast Botanic Gardens is my favorite. Ok , I admit I'm somewhat biased toward SCBG given I've been there more over the years since my late mother and I were often there for the bday parties of the now college student my mom was a nanny for and I'm still close to her family. Her mom actually works at SCBG . The only Botanic garden i haven't been to is the LAC Arboretum Fun fact: the House that was used in the 90s revival "Father of the Bride" Movies with Steve Martin, Diane Keaton, Kimberly Williams -Paisley ( Country singer Brad Paisley's wife) etc isn't far from the Huntington gardens in San Marino and neither is CalTech.
I’m guessing the answer is “Yes”, but, Have you ever been to Butchart Gardens in Victoria? Absolutely one of my favorite places on Earth (we first visited on the last day of our 1991 Honeymoon and have returned in 2000 as well as last June)
Great list. It's a shame that people go to LA for Hollywood and touristy places but miss out on these world class gardens. One of the best Japanese gardens in CA is the one in Sherman Oaks right where the 405 / 101 meet.
