- A scene depicting the baptism of Jesus by John the baptist, the descent of the Holy Spirit, represented here symbolically as a physical dove, though I think in reality it may have been Gods Spirit and energy radiating brightly in the shape of a dove. Jesus then led into the wilderness to be tested.
This is my beloved son in whom I am well pleased.
And a voice came from heaven: “You are my Son, whom I love; with you I am well pleased.”

This movie will always have a special place in my heart. Among the movies on the life of Christ this one is my favorite. It tells the life of Christ in a simple and straightforward manner. Further it is in accord with the Gospels but it is not twisted like the Last Temptation of Christ was. Thumbs up for Jesus of Nazareth!!! I agree also that Powell was great as Jesus.
Thank you JESUS for dying for our sins. Thank you for saving a sinner like me from the pits of hell. I’ll love you for eternity. Amen 🙏🏽

This is a wonderful scene where we see the three persons of the Godhead working in unity. The Son is doing all righteousness, The Holy Spirit is annointing the Son Yeshua for his ministry, The Father is approving all. This Jesus of Nazareth is the best film version of the messiah.

Acts 9:18; 22:16 - Paul is baptised while standing up in the house of Judas. There is no hot tub or swimming pool for immersion. This demonstrates that Paul was sprinkled.
Acts 10:47-48 - Peter baptised in the house of Cornelius, even though hot tubs and swimming pools were not part of homes. Those in the house had to be sprinkled.

marnie abis baptism is the action of the Holy Spirit, water is the form used, dont get caught up in sprinkling vs immersion.

If people watched this video and then read their Holy Bibles, they would see that this video is not at all a true representation of Jesus' baptism. Please go back and read John 3:13-17. For 1. Baptism means immerse. To dip in water. 2. The dove aligned with Jesus when he CAME UP from the water. 3. A voice CAME FROM HEAVEN. I'm sorry to say as much as this may have been good acting, it isn't the truth.

Ephesians 4:4 The one baptism is the one that baptizes you into the Body of Christ at the moment you become a true born again believer. Baptism involves a change that comes with repentence. The message of the great commission is what saved people thousands at a time -- no water. The Baptists have two baptisms. Water was a Jewish ritual for proselytes such as the Eunoch.
John preached Israel to repent -- no savior yet! Jesus baptism was his annointing to be the Christ -- nothing to repent of.

He humbled himself to come among us, and humbled himself as well to undergo the sacraments, and to die in obedience to the father.

I say good video, it just needs God's plan of salvation according to Acts 2:38. This is the way the church got started and the Jews, Gentiles, and Samaritans all came the same way. Acts 2:4, 2:38, 10:44--48, 19:1-6, Mark 16:16, Romans 6:3-5, 1 Corinthians 12:13, Galatians 3:27, Ephesians 4:5-6. 1 Peter 3:21. One can't escape baptism of the water and spirit. So what was the example in the O.T. for the forgiveness of sin? The day of atonement. The High Priest Aaron laid hands on one goat and transferred all the sins of Israel on it. The goat did not become a sinner IT ONLY CARRIED THE SINS and was then lead into the desert . Therefore when John the High Priest laid hands on Jesus, He transferred all the sins of the WORLD unto Jesus,
NOW Jesus did not become a sinner the same as the goat. Jesus carried our sins. Immediately after the baptism Jesus was lead into the desert just like the goat.
NOW carrying our sins, there was a price. WAGES OF SIN IS DEATH. The offence was sin, the punishment for sin was DEATH.
SO JESUS HAD TO DIE FOR THE SINS THAT HE WAS CARRYING.
If Jesus just died without the sins, there would be no salvation.
WHY was God pleased with HIS son JESUS, because he was doing the fathers will, and that was to be baptized by John the Baptist. John the Baptist whole life had one purpose and that was to baptize Jesus.

Thus we need all three for salvation, if one is left out THEN NO SALVATION.
