Fallen Order is great, but this was such a fun sandbox to play around in, regardless of it being a more linear game. Can't casually stack chairs on a storm trooper for kicks from the start of Fallen Order. Maybe it's just because the dark side of the force is a pathway to many abilities that some consider to be unnatural, but IDK
I love battlefront 2 (EA) as well. The VR games are also really nice, but let’s be honest, if we get a remaster of this game it will be the best Star Wars game

Whilst the new movies are not canon to me neither are the force unleashed games. For one star killer is o.p good for a fun video game but in terms of actual lore context not so much. Same as the warhammer space marine game it isn't necessarily Canon but is so awesome it doesn't need to be it's a parallel to what goes on in the main stream. Titus not being an official captain in lore as is star killer isn't in o.g star wars unless you count that Luke was meant to be named star killer before Skywalker.

Episode 3.5, if you will. It was decanonized along with the rest of the good Star Wars EU material in 2014 so Disney could make their shittier version instead.
I had the DS version growing up. It controlled weird, using the touchpad for all combat moves, and the D-Pad and buttons for movement. I didn't know the proper way to input combos (Dragging the stylus over the buttons, as opposed to quickly tapping them) until after I was halfway through my second playthrough, so before that all my combo moves had about a 3/4 chance of failure. It was decent, but a good ways below a great game, like the Lego games or Zeldas
It's a shame the PS2 version wasn't put on PC. As that was the original project, it has quite a bit more content. I like it more overall as well. Also no dumb behind-the-back lightsaber grip :P

Even today one of my TOP 10 games ever, advanced physics, great combat system and much better version of Rebels Alliance origin than a canon one. Graphics looks great even as for modern standards when you'll think how old is this one.
You need to play Jedi Outcast and Jedi Academy. The graphics aren't great anymore, but the lightsaber and Force gameplay has never been surpassed by any other game.

I remember renting this game back in November of 2008. I was visiting my dad for Thanksgiving, and we immediately went to Hastings to buy the new Call of Duty (World at War), but I also decided to rent this when I saw it available. Great memories of being able to play both games in a couple of days before taking Force Unleashed back. I would later buy the game sometime after Christmas and replay it. We truly had a great golden age of gaming back then.
Replaying this game recently has reminded me of two things. 1: QTEs are a sin that should be forgotten FOREVER. 2: The walking animations cutscenes are funny af.
I usually hate QTEs, but I thought games like The Force Unleashed (I had the PS2 version) and GoW handled them great. I am happy we're out of that era, though
QTEs are badass, this game's are super forgiving in that it's literally impossible to die during one and even if you could it's just button prompts that you follow to get a really well choreographed action scene, some of the coolest moments in my favourite games are QTEs especially in the Yakuza games.
I thought the QTEs were fine in this game. You still have to beat everyone legitimately and QTEs only come in when they’re near death. It’s like those finishing animations in Jedi Fallen Order and Survivor, just with some button prompts you press.
Gotta love Oboe noticing how Shaak Ti dies three times (the 2nd one was to Anakin in the temple with reused footage of her stabbing by Grievous, and was left in the Lego game).

100% there are differences, there are even different bosses and stuff. Idk which versions have which but on the wii I remember fighting some gungan as a boss in cloud city I think, and then a big robot at the end of the cloud city section and neither of those were in the Xbox version when I replayed it recently

I think I know why you decided to condense a whole game down to a single video, but...imo, I don't like the new format. I went from lots of Oboe in my life to very little Oboe, and now everything is happening so quickly, I don't know what is going on any more.
