The ending always confuses people. Damon and Elena at the end are Flash Forward after living another 70 to 80 years as normal humans-with Elena opening her private practice, and starting a family with Damon. The appearance they have is of young people come up because in Peace, you appear at the age that you were the happiest.
@@aronsmith2688 Because...he forgave himself with time. That's what matters most, never mind all the people he slaughtered, some of which included entire generations of the same family. But hey Elaine is totally down for the guy who slept with her mom, turned he rmom into a vampire, and killed her brother. And her other major choice was a "good guy", with a blood addiction, who is actually a homicidal mass murderer whose body count dwarfs demons when you think about it. Because even Damon didn't wipe out a migrant Village😂. Honestly, I get why Ian and Paul were confused by the fan base actually supporting Delena/Stelena.
Elena looked a little different because of the wigs they put on her the actress had cut her hair in real life so they had to put those wigs on her. Also, in the end it’s just showing them after they had lived a long life and went to heaven to reunite with their loved ones. Thank you for reacting to this show in its entirety!
Yeah. She got her family back at the end but at what cost? Only in death (her second death btw). I still feel like no one really got their happy ending except Damon who deserved it least out of everyone. Elena literally lost everything, but somehow kept pushing forward. These writers were evil to everyone except Damon. What a depressing life they all had to live. Everyone just dies around them.
yeah, the scene with her shorter hair is her real hair and she looks so much better also, i never thought nina aged much it's just she got thicker eyebrows to stay with the trends and it really did not do anything for her (it's also suspected she did something to her eyes to remove the hooded part which does too but like in terms of aging nina has no real wrinkles whereas caroline, damon etc. it's a bit more prominent but less noticeable their aging because you're seeing them do it season after season compared to nina taking a break.. go back to season one and you can notice how much they changed compared to kat and paul)
So, fun fact: the ending was super rushed, as much of it was filmed at the last minute. Originally, it was supposed to premiere on February 25, 2017, but it got pushed back to March 10, 2017, because they were still filming. The showrunners, Julie Plec and Kevin Williamson, really wanted to get as many former cast members as they could for cameos and kept rewriting the script down to the wire. Hilariously, due to the last-minute nature, some people couldn't show up because of scheduling conflicts. The big one they really wanted back but couldn't get was Bianca Lawson, who played Emily Bennett, because she was in the middle of filming another show and couldn't take time off. Filming officially wrapped with less than 2 weeks ago and post-production got everything done just in time thanks to that delay. As far as the Bennett witches go, the ones we know are cousin Lucy, Grams, Beatrice Bennett (the new witch introduced this season), the Witch of the Five (Qetsiyah's descendant who created the Brotherhood of the Five and the silver daggers that can take out an Original), and a couple of actors and actresses who appeared previously as background Bennett witches but never got names. If Bianca Lawson had been able to make it, she would have been the witch to take Bonnie's hand on her left side, instead of Beatrice, while Grams took the right side. Qetsiyah was also missing from the group for similar reasons. Due to the rushed nature, certain plot elements were changed (they were even debating which brother would die down to the last minute). This is also why Katherine's lines didn't hit as hard as they normally do-they were written at the last second. Also, yes, Nina looks different mostly because she cut her hair, so she wore one of TVD/TO's infamously bad wigs, and she lost a lot of her "baby fat" (she was fully in her 30s by this point), so she appears thinner than when we last saw her on TVD. Also, the showrunners have revealed that if Nina had never left the show, the devil plotline still would have happened because it's based on the book series. But Katherine wouldn't have been the final villain. Instead, the original plan was to introduce a new doppelgänger, one more ancient than Katherine, possibly the first doppelgänger born from Amara, who, throughout the series, we would eventually learn was working for Cade. They haven't given many details, but some fans speculate that Sybil would have originally been a Petrova doppelgänger, which would have made it easier to replace Elena in Damon's mind. That part is just speculation, but the final villain being a completely different doppelgänger than Katherine was confirmed by the showrunners. Also, had she not left, she would have ended up with Stefan-yes, they would have broken off Delena and Steroline to restore Stelena. He was the original endgame, but because Nina left, none of these plans worked out, and they didn't want to get them back together in the finale because it would have been in poor taste. Honestly, I think Nina dodged a bullet when she left like she did.
I may be entirely alone in this opinion but since it’s long over we can debate what could have or should have happened but I always liked the idea of Elena being with Damon when she was a vampire because she was more like him and drew her closer to his darkness and I liked the idea of him becoming better because of her, almost In a way healing. I wouldn’t have minded seeing Elena return back to Stefan after taking the cure if it was done in good taste but above all I would have liked to see Damon with Bonnie, I think their chemistry was great and even in the end she fell for someone who was kind of like him in Enzo. The biggest issues with tvd is how many times they changed story lines, it’s like so many times they put all their eggs in one basket then do a 360…
@@teamxloadin3128 Meanwhile, Ian and Kat were like make Bamon happen, and Julie Plec gave a firm "never gonna happen." Another showrunner, one idk (brunette, long hair, thinner than Julie, also shot it down during one of the comic con panels.
@@lucariomew365omg thanks for this, honestly I hated how rushed it felt. I actually enjoyed every episode from S7&S8 but this finale aside from the emotional moments, felt mediocre. Elena's entrance would've been better if she didn't have that cheap wig, I actually think the scene where Bonnie approaches Elena in that kingside bed and the shot where the cameras coming close to Elena opening her eyes, that was the only shot imo where the wig didn't look too fake/where Elena actually looked really good, once they showed her face I felt extremely disappointed by that cheap ass wig, but it was heartwarming reunion. Honestly it should've been longer than just a regular 40 min episode and tbh I really wish Nina could've returned for more than one episode if she couldn't do one season then I wish we could've gotten at least 5 Episodes. Tbh I didn't like how Katherine was handled, I mean the only Katherine scene I liked in this episode was when she fooled Damon/Stefan at their house, it actually felt like what Katherine was from the previous season well imo that scene felt 70% of Katherine from the original seasons. Every scene with Katherine after that felt like an over the top parody/caricature. Yes Katherine is a bad bitch but having her as an Evil Queen of Hell is too much, she was manipulative but she had a caring side to her we've seen plenty of moments where she displays subtle acts of caring for the Salvatore's and even helping Elena in S2 and a bit of S3, I hate how the Salvatore's didn't even mention to Katherine a line about Nadia like, "Shouldn't you go find peace to reunite with your daughter" I mean I know Kevin Williamson wasn't involved with the show after he was a bit during Season 3, but I wish we could've gotten more acknowledgement of the past seasons. I don't ship steroline but im glad the scenes were handled respectfully in this finale, I really wish Pearl&Anna, Liv&Luke, The Michaelson's, Tyler Lockwood's Fam could've cameo. Honestly if Season 7 was successful enough to warrant a season 8 and maybe a couple more Seasons do you think we could've had a better fleshed out finale. Cuz I wish tvd would've ended at a season 10,11 or 13 and by then we could've had Nina return for a full season or at least 5 episodes but idk, if that would've happen I hope it wouldn't have been as rushed as this finale. The Damon/Elena scenes felt so empty it felt like in some scenes except the end ones, it felt they used one of the actors and the other one a stunt double. I hope I'm wrong, I hated how some delena fans terrorized Ian and Nikki, I mean if the rumors were true then def I feel bad for Nina but, it's becuz of their bullying Nina and Ians chemistry don't feel the same anymore, I'm glad to see in this finale that at least Nina's trying but with Damon it felt, I don't really want to do these scenes with you, but I have to so let's get it over asap. I wish Vampire diaries didn't end at season 8, I wish Tyler and Enzo didn't have to die like that just for us to have a conflict with the Salvatore brothers, Bonnie deserved a better happy ending, I really wish we could've had it more fleshed out maybe the Salvatore meeting guissope and Lily but idk. As much as it came to an end, it felt rushed. I hope I can find a good fanfiction where someone has the desires I just stated coz honestly it this episode definitely shouldve been reshot 😭
Omg this episode is so sad when Stefan dies. But it makes sense because the whole show is his diary and the amount of episodes is his age. But yes rest in peace Stefan.
@@Yourfav341 tbh I don't think the literal diary thing matters as I think the writers dropped that concept. But I do agree with it making more sense that the show is stefan's story. The show starts off with his voice over and ends with a scene of him rather than elena. Plus elena was gone for two full seasons.
The question I had was “did everyone Damon compelled, suddenly remember?”. When Stefan was cured, all of the people be compelled, remembered. I am sure people would want to go find him lol. Overall, I was good with the ending.
One of my comments in the episode where everyone remembers Stefan’s says exactly this. When Katherine got cured.. no one looked for her even though she spent a summer as a human and it didn’t show Matt or anyone remembering. I don’t know why they did that with Stefan
@@shellyappiah the people that Katherine compelled actually did remember and looked for her except it wasn't the main cast because they obviously don't care about her well being. Remember the 1st episode of season 5, Katherine is now a human and told Damon that she has enemies everywhere and that they're chasing her, so the people that's looking for Katherine is probably her enemies that remembered.

That’s right. No one got their happy ending except Damon which is so messed up cause he deserves it the least out of everyone. Some people will argue that Elena kinda got her happy ending too. But did she really? She lost her entire family as a teen. Her adoptive parents, biological parents, her brother at one point, her aunt, her guardian (Alaric). Literally died the same way her adoptive parents died & turned to a vampire. Then got her years taken from her when she was put in a sleeping spell. Also was used as a pin cushion/blood bag by Klaus.
I agree that Damon did not deserved a happy ending after everything he did... Thank you on Elena's point of view for the happy ending, she did deserved it.
"I was feeling epic" is what Stefan said to Lexi when he first saw her. And they had to let her ring the bell. There's no other way to destroy Katherine or hell other than the way they did it. - You're pissed off for no reason Aqeel, You got fired up over a lot of useless stuff LOL. I mean, you're mad that there's an afterlife now & that they all found peace? Your issues with this episode were kind of weak and ridiculous
I guess but no one really got their happy ending other than Damon. After everything everyone went through, they just had to deal with it. Damon didn’t deserve his happy ending more than the others
@@movsss exactly. He got his wish when he wished for an eternity of misery for him. Stefan is always sacrificing himself for Damon’s selfish … self. This time he can’t reverse it. Sure Damon tried to sacrifice himself instead but after how many times Stefan had to save him. Mind you, Stefan is the little brother not the oldest. After everything he’s done in the show, the most morally correct character (Stefan) ends up dying instead
it's stefan's story lol. he's the one the books are based on and he's the vampire that wrote a diary, there's 171 episodes matching his age. and theres seasons without elena lmao@@Yourfav341
I like seeing u guy’s reaction to theses series I hope u guys react to legacies also that forces on Klaus and Hayley daughter and Caroline and Alaric kids
Everyone didn’t die… in fact, Elena and Damon are both human now and they go on to have children. They are mentioned later on in The Originals (love it) and Legacies (which I don’t like).
That's either a plot hole or on purpose. I think this was written to reflect the future where they do die so that would be after the present day and after Legacies.
@@xxKeyy_-it’s not a plot hole. in this ending, they aren’t actually dead at their current ages. this just shows that they do EVENTUALLY find peace after death, not right now. as you saw, before going into the light, elena had a ring on, indicating that her and damon remain married until their deaths which is presumably when they are elderly. this glimpse into peace takes place far after legacies and the originals, hence why damon and elena are still alive and mentioned in both the originals and legacies. my theory on why they showed them young in the afterlife instead of old could be because that was the most happy or impactful era/age in their life, but this is just my theory (or they just didn’t want to get old actors or use makeup💀)
After their long lives they found peace. The head showrunner, Julie Plec said, in Peace , your age and appearance are based on how you want to appear and it's most often a reflection of when you were the happiest. The Elena at the end went back to school, became a doctor, opened her own private practice had kids (Legacies gives us the name Stephanie Salvatore), and lived a normal human life into old age. Moreover, Elena & Damon haven't permanently parted. After the two reunited together in peace, the next people they want to see the most were their respective families: For Damon, it's Stefan; for Elena it's her family (Parents, Uncle/Bio-dad John, and Aunt Jenna). As Showrunners Julie Plec described it, if they wanted to they (Damon, Elena, their respective families, and other characters) could all get together in the car and drive off and watch a movie or something, whatever that makes them happy in Peace .
12 monkeys tv show... the best ending ever (compared to breaking bad finale in some online articles, it's just a super slept on show) just to add to the list. Tbh, I watched TVD when I was way younger and never finished it, but for fun I watched the finale and it seemed. . . bad lol. Maybe I just didn't enjoy the fan service idk, but I have to agree with the seasons that you guys liked as being the best for sure. I haven't followed all the reactions for this show on the channel, but the ones I did were really enjoyable, thanks for the ride!
I constantly watch this whole series over and over again, mostly the first 5 seasons, and the last season. Same with The Originals. Legacy got too corny for me. I never finished it.
You’ve probably said a time or two, but are you guys gonna react to the 3rd “story” (aka spin-off lol), Legacies . You kinda have to to see if you’ve seen vampire diaries, and originals. Trust me dudes
Thank you! It was a pleasure to re-watch TVD with you. I have seen the series 3 times (I love it), but I also felt that this end was rushed, they wanted to put all things in the last minutes. Although it is not intentional, it is evident that due to the personal circumstances of the actors: 1) Nina had an obvious physical change (God, as that wig can fact is made to feel forced and uncomfortable that kiss of the reunion between the two). My favorite characters: Damon, Caroline and Bonnie. My least favorite: Elena, Tyler, Jeremy... even Alaric sometimes. My favorite villain: KAI PARKER.
s4 and 5 of TO has the worst writing , not to mention the problematic tropes , falling in love with your abductor ( freya and keelin ) , white knight who tries to kill his black son after “ saving him” ( klaus and marcel ) , elijah’s character was ruined halfway through , some things made no sense , the hollow wasn’t explained well , and the idea that rebekah should be sorry to klaus ?? after he abused and daggered her for hundreds of years ?? just because she called michael makes no sense , most female characters in general were just there to be used and make the male characters look good , aurora for another example who was just mentally ill , i could go on but ultimately , tvd had great writing at the start , julie plec ruined tvd toward the end and to , she’s misogynistic and racist and even the actors admitted it .
After everything Damon and Elena went through, they are the ones that deserved a happy ending. Especially Elena because she always sacrificed herself for the love she had for the rest of her friends.
Idk why you guys have such a big problem with the finding peace "world" LOL. It's just like any other show or even real life when someone dies you wonder where they go. But in TVD, the writers decided to show us where. Maybe that's what you guys didn't like about it/would have rather had the question still standing of where they go now? But I didn't mind that the characters found "peace" after all. They were especially able to do this because all of the other supernatural purgatories were destroyed (the other side, hell, etc.)

“donovan diaries” LMFAOOOOOO
"I was feeling epic" is what Stefan said to Lexi when he first saw her.
And they had to let her ring the bell. There's no other way to destroy Katherine or hell other than the way they did it. - You're pissed off for no reason
Aqeel, You got fired up over a lot of useless stuff LOL. I mean, you're mad that there's an afterlife now & that they all found peace? Your issues with this episode were kind of weak and ridiculous
Wow brother, I don't agree with everything they neither, but there is no need to drag their personal lives into this.
ahh boi this episode still hits the same
Legacies is the next spinoff
Ugh the last episode was a knife in my heart I hate that bonnie didnt get her happy ending im glad delena did
They forgot about Stephens Blonde friend 😂
I forgot her name....
Is it just me but I love this finale?
I guess but no one really got their happy ending other than Damon. After everything everyone went through, they just had to deal with it. Damon didn’t deserve his happy ending more than the others
@@Yourfav341 his brother died though?
@@movsss exactly. He got his wish when he wished for an eternity of misery for him. Stefan is always sacrificing himself for Damon’s selfish … self. This time he can’t reverse it. Sure Damon tried to sacrifice himself instead but after how many times Stefan had to save him. Mind you, Stefan is the little brother not the oldest. After everything he’s done in the show, the most morally correct character (Stefan) ends up dying instead
I loved the final
Are you guys gonna watch legacies now? Finish the whole series?
Elena is alive 0:22
It was always a show about brothers.
Still Elena’s story.
it's stefan's story lol. he's the one the books are based on and he's the vampire that wrote a diary, there's 171 episodes matching his age. and theres seasons without elena lmao@@Yourfav341
I like seeing u guy’s reaction to theses series I hope u guys react to legacies also that forces on Klaus and Hayley daughter and Caroline and Alaric kids
I love Tvd cast sms especially IAN LIKE FIDID
I think you guys will really like true blood
Everyone didn’t die… in fact, Elena and Damon are both human now and they go on to have children. They are mentioned later on in The Originals (love it) and Legacies (which I don’t like).
That's either a plot hole or on purpose. I think this was written to reflect the future where they do die so that would be after the present day and after Legacies.
It’s a plot hole in this ending all around bc they’re still alive in legacies 😭
@@xxKeyy_- Not a plot hole if you pay attention.
L take
I constantly watch this whole series over and over again, mostly the first 5 seasons, and the last season. Same with The Originals. Legacy got too corny for me. I never finished it.
How you gonna disrespect the best season (6) like that? Disgraceful
Thank you Dani!
Jeremy? What’s to dislike about him tho?
well the originals is for sure more logical and the ending is mind blowing better than tvd
No it's not 😂
Shut up goof
The originals can’t even compare 🙄
s4 and 5 of TO has the worst writing , not to mention the problematic tropes , falling in love with your abductor ( freya and keelin ) , white knight who tries to kill his black son after “ saving him” ( klaus and marcel ) , elijah’s character was ruined halfway through , some things made no sense , the hollow wasn’t explained well , and the idea that rebekah should be sorry to klaus ?? after he abused and daggered her for hundreds of years ?? just because she called michael makes no sense , most female characters in general were just there to be used and make the male characters look good , aurora for another example who was just mentally ill , i could go on but ultimately , tvd had great writing at the start , julie plec ruined tvd toward the end and to , she’s misogynistic and racist and even the actors admitted it .
I'm a Legacies fan and would highly encourage you to start it after TO! Though I can see some of ya’ll not liking it
After everything Damon and Elena went through, they are the ones that deserved a happy ending. Especially Elena because she always sacrificed herself for the love she had for the rest of her friends.
Damon supremacy 🔥🔥🔥
Waiting for the Originals reaction
Idk why you guys have such a big problem with the finding peace "world" LOL. It's just like any other show or even real life when someone dies you wonder where they go. But in TVD, the writers decided to show us where.
Maybe that's what you guys didn't like about it/would have rather had the question still standing of where they go now?
But I didn't mind that the characters found "peace" after all. They were especially able to do this because all of the other supernatural purgatories were destroyed (the other side, hell, etc.)
are you gonna react to the originals or not?3
The worst finale to ask for
😭😭😭
