axel kromm The majority of users still don't have 5.0. Only phones that came out out in 2017 have it. And not many other (older) devices support it either.
Muhammad ElGhazaly stronger connections, faster data transfers, longer range connections, can play different songs on two different speakers simultaneously.
The ONE real problem, regardless of your distance, is that there's a noticeable audio delay (more noticeable when you play games) and it makes the experience slightly or even extremely horrible.
My problem is less with the connection dropping spontaneously and more with it deciding to connect to my laptop across the room, rather than my phone in my hand...
Never had any problems with Apple Bluetooth devices (AirPods, trackpad, keyboards). Speakers though... The Naim speakers ($700-1500 Wireless speakers) had the worst connection breakups I’ve ever heard, even with the phone sitting right next to them.
Not to mention the audio quality is terrible. I wont ever use bluetooth until it sounds at least like a standard 3.5mm headphone jack. Curse compressed audio i hate it so much.
THEE Yandere - Chan Thats just your headphones, and/or your connection. I have no problem with my Bluetooth beats whatsoever + they sound miles better than most wired headphones I use.
But Bluetooth is amazing, I got my first Bluetooth headset a month ago, it doesn't consume much battery and the connection, sound and range is awesome.
Bullshit. Bluetooth is dependent on others using same frequency. Drop offs and failed pairing attempts are universal. Not frequent always but recurring
Bluetooth 5.0 can go up to 50mbps and can have a range of 240m (even though it never goes that fast and far in most devices) Also Bluetooth doesn’t drain the battery too fast nowadays
because logically speaking, there is XOR in the middle, not AND. It can go up to 50mbps OR it can have range of 240m, because the 50mbps speed is only if the devices are relatively close, but if they get far away, the speed drops significantly because it needs to send/receive more bits in order to confirm that the signal has come good.
These earbuds i just got are 5.0 and they don't work at all. When trying to pair it never pairs. It takes 20 minutes or more to get them paired. When they manage too connect after 20 minutes of trying too pair there is either No sound or sound is only in one earbud. When there actually is sound and everything is working, paired and connected, the sound so extremely low and highly distorted that they are virtually unusable.
Biggest reason it sucks: every Bluetooth chip and driver implements the connectivity in a slightly different way and this ultimately leads to incompatibility and inconsistency. Source: wrote an application that uses Bluetooth, can confirm, even different headsets from the same manufacturer can at times behave differently when streaming audio or making a call. And don't get me started on Android phones...
Not to mention codecs and standards (for audio) are fragmented. With companies all trying to come up with their own versions and standards, I won't be giving up wired headphones anytime soon.
I only use BT for 2 things. 1, to connect my old Samsung S5 (which i now only use as a MP3 player) to my car head unit. And 2, to connect my iPhone to my GPS unit in my car for both handsfree speakerphone and also the GPS uses the phones internet to get traffic info. Both seem to work ok other than the odd stutter in music playback
Thats odd... my headphones never disconnect randomly.... maybe a signal dropbout of a few seconds in crowded and noisy areas, but other than that ... they are fine. 3:01 Switch from iOS to Android :D 3:20 While that is cute... they still look like Q-Tips, are overpriced, and have the same battery life as cheap 20$ Knockoff HPs...
it doesnt suck, you sue it with either broken hardware or just got an error once and went nuts. i use my razer hammerhead BT on my pc for gaming and on my phone for music and its all connecting through bluetooth, never disconnected and the lag is almost unnoticeable.
themrjones What are you talking about? BlueTooth 5.0 isn't vaporware. It's slowly being implemented into the latest devices, including iPhones and Galaxies.
I bought a pair of Bluetooth headphones yesterday. I managed to pair them up with my phone to listen to music, but the sound kept stuttering. The headphones have the option to use a cable instead, so I'll be buying one tommorow.
I haven't had any issues connecting my BT headphones to a Nexus 5, Z3 Compact, X Compact, LG V20, and multiple Samsung phones. The same applies to BT speakers. Maybe you should buy good gear.
Lol never had a single problem with my Bluetooth sennheiser headphones. Been using them almost daily for 8 months and they haven’t failed me once. It depends on the quality of the tech.
I had audio Technica headphones die on me tonight and I bought them 3 months ago. My cheap jlab lasted two years. I hate Bluetooth it sucks. I prefer my wired.
Somebody needs to make an iPhone Bluetooth old-phone pairing app. It needs to work just like aftermarket automobile stereo pairing - can easily pick up on either one. Using my old phone as an alternate would be very useful instead of carry around or go find my regular phone.
I emulate games on my Mac. I always play with Nintendo Switch Joy-Cons/Pro Controller by pairing them with Bluetooth. I always have to hold very hard the tiny dot-shaped button at the top for like 10 secs, and even when just paired, sometimes the controller unpairs and I have to repeat the process again. Then after playing on Mac (if Pro Controller is used), the controller sometimes disconnects when playing on my Switch!
I got Wireless head phones and it makes my internet connection terrible, but other then that they are okay, I normally use wire headphones for when I’m on the Internet and use my wire less ones for call, because it is nice being able to put my phone on the charger and be able to still pace around while talking on the phone, if wireless head phones worked on how it affects the internet speed I probably wouldn’t have any complaints about it
I still don't really prefer bluetooth unless it's 100% waterproof, considering same sound quality, bluetooth earphones will be around three times the price of a wired earphone and if it's not waterproof, I don't see the point. Unless there's a very good sound quality bluetooth in ear headphone that is less than $30
Bluetooth channel hops between 79 channels 1600 times a second hops forward a channel if it detects interference. Unless you are in a crowded please with lots of Bluetooth and cellular devices Bluetooth generally does not get interfered with.
This video is incomplete since you forgot mentioning the bluetooth 5.0 that should solve all of these issues but seems to be too pricy for companies. This is an important fact.
I *REFUSE* to switch to BlueTooth earbuds as my primary earbuds, sure, to listen in class occasionally, I might... :3 But *NOT* as a regular way... It is INCONVENIENT AS HELL! Having to charge both, and then it disconnecting/interference... :/
I understand and somewhat agree with the points made in this video except for the battery life problem. Everything your phone can do drains it's battery (something's more than others), I would say the problem is companies continuing to push for smaller and thinner phones. I have a $150 phone by Motorola, it is made of metal, it's very thick (when compared to other devices), and it has a 5,000 mAh battery. So what are other companies doing wrong that my $150 phone can have better battery life than a $1,000 iPhone x?
Apple's bluetooth works wonders within the Apple ecosystem. AirPods works really well. AirDrop is so awesome, you can share photos within just a few taps across iPhones.
Bluetooth does not suck at all. "It has a short range" - No. "It disconnects randomly" - No. "It shortens battery life" - WELL SO DOES THE HEADPHONE JACK.
This video didn’t age well, and that’s for the better. In the Present day, headphones as cheap as 20$ or cheaper have Bluetooth 5.0. that version of Bluetooth fixes all of the problems explained in this video. Except for the problem of charging, But with quick charge being implemented in more and more hardware. I don’t think it will be as big of a problem as it was.
No idea what your talking about. The battery life I'll give ya but I can be across my house and still get notifications on my watch and it has yet to drop on me. That's 160ft away from my phone. I have a Pixel 2XL
0:18 Bluetooth has a short range? How much range does a 3 ft headphone cable have?
Woah Bandicoot just put your phone in your pocket while connected to Bluetooth?
Woah Bandicoot, don’t be an idiot. You know his or her point.

Id say about 36 inches
Wired connection is still FAR more stable than any wireless connection. Give or take.
I’m tired of charging my stupid headphones and earphones
How about you get a good brand then that can last 15 hours.

Maybe for you, but in general, bluetooth has too many issues against it. It's not a good enough technology to properly remove headphone jacks.
