"Mr Stalin Really wanted to conquer Finland." Actually, he offered Finland three times the territory elsewhere in order to move the border far enough for Leningrad to be out of artillery range of the border. When Finland refused, Stalin attacked - and at the end of the war the Mannerheim line was breached and the border moved where Stalin had wanted it. (I have myself visited Vyborg and Zelenogorsk, formerly Finnish and now Russian territory). The USSR again defeated Finland in 1944, History.
AFAIK there was this secret addendum to the Molotov-Ribbentrop pact that divided European countries to German and Soviet spheres of influence. Naturally Finland was supposed to be under the Soviet sphere... So even if Finland would have accepted Stalin's offer, I guess he would have later invented another reason to invade Finland. Oh, btw, who won in the long run? Finland still does exist as an independent nation, and is doing quite well - the same can't be said about the Soviet Union :D
Nope, he didn't. He got just 10 % of our country, with HUGE military losses. At the beginning of the war Soviet military leaders said that they will meet in Helsinki after two weeks and the whole war thing will be just a parade march, but... OK, we lost the Karelian Isthmus and the areas of Petsamo and Salla for you Russians, but so what? We maintained our independence. And I agree with your opinion of Stalin. He was nuts, just like Hitler.
The Red Army would have been capable of fighting if Stalin just hadn't killed some of the best commanders in his ethnic cleansings... And also one reason why Finland somehow lost was because the Finns started to be out of men and material resources. And they were tired too. The Red Army was way bigger than the Finnish Army...
...and here we have 2007 and the 'mighty' (what a joke) roosian army can't even beat the Chechen freedom fighters. The Chechens will be kicking their asses for many, many years to come! Smert mockalyam.
Missile systems will soon be deployed in S. Ukraine and a NATO airforce base will be built near Dnipropetrovsk. Smert mockalyam...ussr is dead, federation is dying...mockali have already lost. Slava Heroyam Chechniyi!
Stalin didn't want to conquer Finland. He only wanted to move the border farther from Leningrad. He 100% reached his aim. He didn't care of the price of that victory. Finland also payed a contribution. Do winners pay contribution? You need to learn more of your own history!
This happened in Chechnya in 1995. But this is staged up:( Well it did happen but camera ran out of tape. So S.O.B.R. had to stage the last part :) half-fake
But won this war any way !!! and if russians wanted could win this war on the second day it started !!! money money everything was sold!!so all chechens knows what i'm tolking about
