F1 Old Interlagos Layout (1975) | Sebastian Vettel Onboard | Assetto Corsa

- Here's an onboard lap on the old F1 Interlagos layout used in 1975 with Sebastian Vettel in his Ferrari SF1000.
It is not very likely we will a Brazilian Grand Prix in 2020, which is a shame as it's one of my favourite races on the calendar.
The new layout of Interlagos still has the charm of the old one, although much shorter. It was fun to race on the old layout, but I much prefer the newer layout as it provides more of a challenge on the track.

The current one is an absolute blast to drive on, but this layout is just majestic! What a beast of a track!
00:00 to 1:19 - WHERE AM I???
1:20 = oh ok.
you wanted to say:
00:05 to 1:19
I got lost somewhere between where turns 3 and 4 are today
From 00:40 to 01:00 are the actual circuit layout’s turns 7, 6, 5, 4 and 3 but going clockwise
This track looks like it would both detonate engines *and* shred tires like a cheese grater. If you were to combine the 2000-era Hockenheimring with Catalunya's long, fast, high-load corners, you'd end up with this. Interlagos is already awesome; this version, with the crazy weather and everything, would be wonderful chaos.
perfectly said
This old layout is absolutely bonkers. Forgetting about track safety for a moment, you can't accuse any of the old-timers for not being creative when they designed classic circuits [Interlagos, Nurburgring, Hockenheim, the old Monza layout, etc]. Wow.
The current Interlagos is one of my favorite f1 circuits, but if any historic layout was to make a comeback, I would love for it to be this one.
This is fast for this era would be boring
The current Interlagos circuit needs parts of the old one to modernize. We are at risk of losing our GP Brasil as the race promoters believe that they need do nothing. Silverstone is a good example of how much we could improve Interlagos. Unfortunately, we will lose the F1 race !! It's a pity !! Regarding the video, spectacular !!
Really hope we don't lose Interlagos, it is honestly one of my favourite races of the year, and probably the circuit I enjoy driving the most in the F1 games.
Here's to hoping for many more years of Interlagos in F1!
They did use the old circuit, and a lot of it too. upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/4/41/Interlagosoverlay.jpg The issue isn’t the track layout, it’s one of the best on the calendar and consistently puts up incredible races. 03, 07, 08, 12, 16, and 19 immediately come to mind. It’s unfortunately more a matter of money and politics.
If covid stops to spread there we may get it back...
It's just empty words, we don't have money to spend in a shitty Tilke circuit, and as a fellow brazilian you must know how lovely our roads are to host a street circuit. They will probally bring Interlagos back when the Covid go away.
@@TheEmolano Yes, F1 has already signed a new contract with Interlagos for another 5 years.
Dude... what a sensational track Interlagos is. It is not because I am Brazilian that I say this, but it is one of the most emblematic motorsport tracks in the world, without a doubt. Thanks for the video, what a ride! Hug.
Acho que seria uma boa ideia que os organizadores do Grande Prémio do Brasil e a cidade de São Paulo recuperassem o circuito original, com esses quase 8 quilómetros de longitude.
@@Subar_Sama eu discordo totalmente
best track in the world, totally destroyed by the new layout
@@macioz It's one of the best races in F1. The layout is great
@@maciozbollocks. The current layout still carry the spirit of the old layout
The first sector can be called Ferrari's Worst Nightmare lol
That's literally our version of the AVUS :)
Interlagos quite possibly has to be my favourite circuit past present and future
A portion of the old track (from the end of the first right-left chicane to close to the end of the second subsequent right-hand sweeper) is used in the modern track, but in reverse.
Most of the second half of the track (about 1:18 to finish) is used in the modern track.
Gracias por esa parte :))))))))))))))))))))))
Holy crap, this layout is huge!
If It was in the calendar today, It would be the biggest track. Over 8km each lap. Spa, for instance, has 7km each lap.
I think the race in the old days was like 41-45 laps. Tops
@@otaviofrn_adv That's insane! And kinda cool :)
What a wonderful at its original layout configuration 🤩
Amazing, still prefer the current one with curves 1 and 2, the old one looks really difficult to overtake
Emerson Fittipaldi: "The old Interlagos is like a small Nurburgring, it have slow corners, fast corners anything "
Well, i cant say that the current version is a downgrade, but i cant say its an upgrade either.
My conclusion: Brazil knows how to build good racing circuts.
Yees Jacarepaguá was a good one, and the "Circuito de Goiânia" its a good one too!
Oh, thank you
This track is better then the current track
This track is fucking insane and I love it
It's really nice to see Vettel adapting to how the cockpit changes, from the speedometer still on the car, well now he has too look at his steering wheel so
It is interesting to see that some parts of the circuit were made in reverse, such as the second straight after the senna's "S", the "curva do sol" and the "descida do lago", which at the time was called "subida do lago"
Circuito antigo do brasil
Vitórias do fittipaldi
Can you add maps the track layout ?
would be great!
Niki would of have done this track in 1975 in a Ferrari
well, he ran there in 1975. finished 5th
This would be one hell of an endurance circuit imo. Lots of overtaking opportunities, very friendly to slipstream, it kinda has it all. But as an F1 circuit I just couldn't ditch the Senna S. It's simply too iconic and fun to drive through.
I came back after the race and this was the Classic layouts we saw in 1972 50 years ago very different from today’s 2022 layout
The best circuit all the history.
😍😍😍😍😍
Amazing track.
Old interlagos was so fast track death for engines 8 km but this interlagos is challenge up down
If you could somehow create a replica of the Senna 'S' at the original Curva 3 (The braking zone at 0:21) I think this circuit might be the perfect Interlagos for everyone.
O traçado antigo era fantástico! O novo quando surgiu, levantou protestos de muitos!
I can not tell were about we are on the track!! It all looks the same and there seem to be different corners!??!!?😅😅
This layout is the only Interlagos that have to be.
🔥 odhgara
You’re pretty good at this circuit!
The best F1 track ever?
But what's happen if car touch the that high kerb?
Wow this tracks much cooler
Tbh I preffer the new, the old one seems just too fast, but still a great track. It's a really well made mod!
I love this layout but it's clearly designed for older cars, the new Interlagos layout is in my top 3 favourite tracks
eles só copiaram o trabalho da Reiza estúdio para o Automobilista 2 e lançaram como mod do AC1.
aí sim, o trabalho da Reiza foi magnífico, se vc prestar atenção, tem até as placas de publicidade daquela época
Make one of the old Interlagos "Oval"
if i was the owner of the race track i would not change the layout of the track
I think it was a demand at the time. No one had the expertise to improve the security in a decent way, and Brazil would lose the GP. Bernie said after 89 he wouldn't come back to Rio (another great one, RIP). So they rebuilt in a smaller version.
BTW, the city of São Paulo owns it
Okay but how many Gs going flat out round that lake hairpin?
*a lot*
Its a big difference without the “S from Senna” curve…
1:07 Asseto Corsa made a mistake here; the Sargento hairpin had 14⁰ banking, much steeper than here. This can be seen clearly here at 4:22 on an actual film from this turn m.ruclips.net/video/Qh0LPIT5ydw/видео.html
Please add the track map so we can see the real different of the old and new track 😊
IMAGINE THE OVERTAKINGS
I have to say i actualy hate all the old layouts of most tracks its just straights and high g-force corners with nearly no braking. i think its boring and i prefer the new layouts most of the times
I thought it was Jacarepagua Circuit 😅
Hi brother. I love it!!! do you have download link for this track?
