First ebike for me, 3.0, stepthrough with the elite seat / bundle included in price. It's very nice for the price and can't wait for the weather to get better to fully master it. Put about 25 miles on it since i got it 10 days ago. Nice review!
Funny about the seat, the XPremium seat I got is better & softer than the C9 I got to replace it. A thinner front and a fatter back tire would be nice for the 2 seat option. An update for the XPremium controller would be wonderful as well.
Wife and I bought two XP 2.0 st bikes for Christmas last year (2021); love them. I added: --folding wire basket --11-34 freewheel --smartphone holder --Lectric foldylock --Lectric suspension seatpost and cushy seat --Wireless alarm & horn button --bottle cage --5v USB outlet --FlatOut goop --cushy passenger seat and footpegs. So the 3.0 is pretty close to all my mods on the 2.0. Don't know why they didn't add the 34 tooth freewheel, and it would have been nice to include a 5v USB power outlet, as smartphone GPS soaks up power. Going from 18a to 20a on the controller is a trivial change; maximum output is now 960w versus 864w before--small potatoes, but still every bit helps, although you're still limited to 10a continuous (500w motor).Same for the small increase in front fork travel. But by far the biggest improvement Lectric made in 2022 was increasing battery capacity from ~460Wh to 672Wh, a massive improvement and one backwards-compatible with the 2.0 and 1.0 models. I personally have zero interest in going 30mph on a bicycle, perhaps because I now realize how dangerous it is to be on a bicycle trying to mix it up with auto traffic. 20 is fine with me, and of course in much of the world the ebike limit is 15mph, still good enough for getting around a city. So Lectric has delivered a winner with the 3.0.
One thing for sure is the brakes though definitely need to change the pads already only have about 170 miles on it and melted thru the brakes I don’t have the money for hydro upgrade but that I do really recommend if you like going the 28 mph you can reach with the pedal Assist you will want to upgrade those brakes
The gearing adds a HUGE difference in the enjoyment of the ride for sure. You actually feel like your helping and making a difference and not just 'mopeding' around. Plus, it will help with range when you can add a little leg power throughout the ride.
Crooked Path rogue is on sale for $999 I picked one up this Monday. Has dual suspension, hydraulic brakes, phone holder, rack, metal fenders… I mean it’s almost a no brainer if you’re looking for an ebike. It’s also foldable.
The 3.0 is a great bike with some improvements over the 2.0. The problem is getting one. I ordered in early June and Lectric charged my credit card. Five working days passed, then ten, not a peep. I emailed support for an update. End of July...maybe. Eight week wait time with an interest free loan of the entire bike cost. It's nearly impossible to talk to a live person, phone wait times routinely exceed an hour. Great bike but the company is a victim of its own success.
Thanks for sharing! Just curious, it's been more than a week since your comment was posted and I was wondering if you got your 3.0 yet? It really is a great improvement over the 2.0 and you're going to love it! End of July is quite long and hopefully it gets to you sooner if you haven't received it yet.
There is a passenger accessory package sold on the Lectric website that comes with the seat to mount on the rack, foot pegs, and a small handlebar attachment.
So i wounder are they still gonna be releasing more ebike from their company because i wounder if the Lectric Xp 4.0 is going to be next or are they just gonna stop from there and leave it at Xp 3.0
I bought 2 of these xp 3.0s. I bought it on June 22,I haven't heard a peep from Lectric, it's July 12th. When you order, make sure you have lots of patience because it takes time for Lectric to get the parts from the factory wherever that may be. China?
I am seriously thinking about buying one of these. Tried out my friends 2.0 and was surprised how well it moved me as i weigh 250lbs. I was even able to ride up a steep grade hill with pedal assist and maintained 15mph. Quite impressed. Now it does concern me to rate the rear for 150lbs as after all this is only a 500watt motor. I truly believe I’ve you had a 150lb rider in the rear and a 150lb rider in the main seat too many times it would burn out the motor before long. Especially with the second rider being directly over the motor. Possibly Lectric had there 500watt motor special made to be more commercial grade?? As odd as it sounds i am selling both my new Onyx and buying 1 Lectric 3.0. The Onyx are great for sure but ended up being to fast and powerful for me. Shocked myself when i came to that realization. Anyway i appreciate Lectric making these e-bikes to being affordable to so many. Next upgrade I’m hoping for is to get rid of the 18650 battery cells and use the much better 21700.
Good Morning, the one thing they missed out on if they operated the battery they should have upgraded the motor to 750 watts they also missed out on making them hydraulic brakes
it would be nice. Not too easy to get anything over there right now. Too many logistical/political issues too list at this point. The rolling blackouts are the latest culprit. Imagine assembling e-bikes in the dark when it's over 100 degrees. I agree about the brakes, The Hydraulic brakes on the XPremium are the ones I would've upgraded to, but the parts are scarce and freakishly high there right now.
Great points for sure! A 750watt motor and hydraulic brakes would be awesome, but it sounded like they had a problem even keeping the motor controller size small enough to fit and still not burn out. I wonder if they made a Lectric XP 4.0 that had hydraulic brakes and a larger motor while selling the 3.0 in tandem it would be a good way to capture the market of those who are willing to spend more on a higher end ebike, but not need a middrive? I know that Levi is passionate about keeping prices low and affordable to allow as many consumers to get a good quality ebike and that has always been his top priority. That being said, we may not see a 750watt hub drive motor Lectric anytime soon. Who knows, those guys are amazing at making good ebikes at great prices and they may have a 750watt under $1100 sooner that we think?
I just bought one, but am deciding if I made a mistake by not buying the long range battery. Do you think it's necessary? I'm a believer in using the pedals and not throttle the whole time. Also do you know if pannier bags can be used in the rear rack with the passenger seat?
If you do a lot of pedaling the regular battery will do you fine, although I personally get range anxiety and will usually recommend that anyone who can afford to get a larger battery should do so if they’ll need to make long trips occasionally and not able to recharge. The new gearing is really helpful and will extend the range of what we used to get for those who pedal even a little as you are essentially helping the ebike out. The pannier bags might need to be creatively attached with the passenger seat. I don’t remember exactly how it used to hook to the old rack, but I think you’ll need to find places to strap the tie downs to make it secure. Lectric’s customer service is amazing, I highly recommend asking them if they have a creative solution to make it work. It’s a great question and may have already been solved by their team. Congrats on your purchase! You’re gonna love it. Safe riding!
If you are just riding around town, 500Wh is fine, and you can always get a second bigger battery down the road. And with two batteries your range is greatly extended.
Nice review Chris! I ordered my XP 3.0 this morning! It’s obvious why Lectric and others have made you one of their top choices to help promote new ebikes. Lectric has outclassed several other bike manufacturers by waiting on taking orders until the actually have bikes in stock. I became very annoyed when the bike manufacturers started taking preorders and prepayments for bikes. Legit companies won’t run your card until they ship. I think Sondors discovered a way to finance their company by taking prepayments on ebikes. Most everyone else followed. It’s a nice business model using the “OPM” other people’s money to finance your business. Otherwise there are some great ebikes available and I own several. The Koolaid tastes great? Didn’t mean to rant. I own a Lectric 2.0 and they make great products! Thanks!
Thanks for the kind words! The 3.0 is a really great upgrade. Something about it is even more comfortable than the 2.0, but I just don't know what it is yet. It's also super stable at high speeds. I was going over 35mph and didn't realize it till later. Some of my 26" fat tire bikes start to wobble at those speeds. Congrats on your 3.0 purchase!
As is so common in RUclips videos, the "background" music is *too loud.* I can barely hear the narration. Yes, it starts out relatively quiet, but then it gets significantly louder and drowns you out. 😠
For the price it's a good deal. I can't wait until they do a non folding bike using the same components just with with a better price for bike Uber delivery
Why your brakes are mechanical?? I thought all 3.0 are hydraulic brakes … what is this? Older 3.0? Upgrade to hydraulic, guy, no this problem, bleeding hydraulic is 10 times easier than this. My 2 cent
The 3.0 is now shipped with hydraulic brakes standard. My bike was one of the first shipped out and at the time it only came with mechanical brakes. It is my understanding that Lectric will send an upgrade kit to hydraulic brakes to 3.0 owners who want them.
@@EbikeProducts i see that makes sense, have you asked Lectric for free upgrade? I m interested in 3.0 because it has hydraulic at that price point. It is great bike and you don’t have to spend a ton like other brands.
You need to be careful when you're dealing with these people. They run deceptive sales ads, they cheated me and I'm sure they're not above cheating you.
You know I can't watch this video Everybody Wants a 750 watt motor you're trying to tell everybody that everybody likes a 3-in tire over a four and everybody likes the 4-in tire except you they had all the opportunities the improve this bike by putting a 4 inch wide tire back on it go to 750 watt motor like everybody wants and they just refuse to do it that's why I would never buy one of these bikes because the tires are too small and it doesn't have a big enough wattage motor for me it's a real shame they keep putting the same thing out over and over and they're not really improving anything
It's weird in the bike world when I am going to buy new automobile person check price same with the motorcycle or both if you don't give a price waste of time for everybody
Like most e-bikes in this style, you can definitely peddle it for a while on flat ground with no big issue. It’s heavy, so it’ll be slow going though and you’re going to want to be in a lower gear. Since the tires are 3” fat tires, it’s easier than a 4” fat tire ebike though and lighter. Personally, I’d avoid letting the battery run down to where you’ll need to peddle it home.
With that skyhigh pricetag I'll just stick w gas...all these electric vehicles keep proving they are overpriced rolling shitmobiles that have a very high probability of burning your shitshack to the ground 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥

The back task weight is exactly what I was looking to find out! Thanks! I have a 32 pound Boston Terrier I want to train to ride with me. Thanks!

Are there actual pegs on the back available for the rider to place their feet on? That tiny bolt doesn’t look to solid for the passenger.

Good Morning, the one thing they missed out on if they operated the battery they should have upgraded the motor to 750 watts they also missed out on making them hydraulic brakes
I agree with you Manny H.
Both make excellent upgrades but would push the bike out of its competitive price range. The stock features are sufficient for 80% of riders.
it would be nice.
Not too easy to get anything over there right now.
Too many logistical/political issues too list at this point.

It's about cornering the Market, Yes the price would go up, But with the upgrades, It Would sell....Just My Humble Opinion

You'll be fine! If you pedal most of the time, you'll be able to ride over eight hours.
Yeah its totally fine standard will get you pretty far if you pedal
The long range is super worth it. It’s the only reason I commute with it.
Nice review Chris!

Ooops. Sorry. You’re right. Just to clarify, I really meant there aren’t a lot of cargo folding e-bikes out there.
As is so common in RUclips videos, the "background" music is *too loud.* I can barely hear the narration. Yes, it starts out relatively quiet, but then it gets significantly louder and drowns you out. 😠

I'd probably get a child seat for a four year old.
Leave out the sucky music next time.
Can’t wait until this company upgrades to a 750W motor.
Trying to visually watch and listen, all I needed was constant inane music as a distraction……. ? 👎
It was too loud for sure.
Yes, music always sux on any video.
@@whatta1501 Agree. 😕
Why would you pay that much money for something that doesn’t have rear suspension with a questionable front suspension having mechanical disk brakes?😅
