Just fitted both new pump and flexible fuel line to a VP2003 1989 engine. Very straightforward job and fuel line is correct length. By bugbear is that Volvo do not sell a service kit for the old pump which literally had a small failure on one of the internal valves, not the diaphragms. I was therefore forced to buy pump and fuel line at a cost of 250gbp. Ouch! Ps. The new pump is a sealed unit.
great video. I am about to replace my fuel pump as well on a '83 Cape Dory C30's MD7A. I am trying to find the part number. Have you got it? I'm guessing it's 833323. Thanks for putting it on RUclips!!!!
Sorry for the delay! I ordered the pump at Tom Smith Marine, in Signal Hill, California. They are are a Volvo Penta dealer. However the fuel line they provided was too short so I had to modify it by adding a few inches of fuel line in the middle.
I no longer have this boat. But I did purchase the part at Tom Smith Marine in Signal Hill, Ca. Tom Smith Marine 2852 Gardena Ave, Signal Hill, CA 90755 (562) 427-6800 g.co/kgs/gqCsF1
Well done!, what is the spray to use for start?
Nicely done. The ol’ MD7A continues to frustrate. It also continues to run. Thus we keep them.
My1984 sunbird still has its original md7a. I rebuilt my fuel pump. Parts kit purchased on eBay uk. I am in aus.

Did you ever find the part?
You think about install an electric pump?
I did consider it but decided against it’s as to not have to rely on electricity. This engine has the capability to crank start.
Nicely done.
