Cheers Peter for this. As a 37 year old feeling "old" and "time passing by quickly", your mention hit me of happiness in the pursuit rather than pursuit of happiness. Enjoying the journey is the key!
Beautifully articulated. I turn 40 this year and whilst I still have commitments and young kids, I’ve learnt to care less about what others think. I’m content with what I’ve achieved and feel privileged to have had the gift of life experience. Your words resonated deeply. Good to see these types of videos from a fellow Victorian based petrolhead!
Great stuff, Peter, and coming from a man who demonstrates exactly what he's talking about. I'm just coming to the end of my 40s, but definitely feeling like it's time to put myself and my happiness a little more front and center. Here's to a fantastic 2024 for all of us!
LOL - that will never get old! I'm so glad you dropped by - it's given me a prompt to revisit your channel and learn about your close call in the desert. I'm definitely carrying too much belly fat, so I'm taking your advice, and have just booked an appointment with my GP to get a CAC scan. I'm now checking out TroopyDoc. Thanks, mate, and all the best for 2024!
Amazing , eye opening and encouraging tutorial for all photographers. A different general subject from routine photographers do. Very interesting and straight forward message. Love the content. Thank you Peter. 👏👍
Thank you, Bill. I’ve written about these kinds of things for years, so I’m finding it harder and harder not to broach them in my videos. I’m still out shooting landscapes (I did some yesterday), but doing a video at the same time often negates the stress-relieving aspects of it. There will be more landscape photography in my videos, but it will likely augment the story rather than *be* the story.
Its strange how the message I needed to hear today found me without me looking for it. Thanks for this video, its uplifting to hear that it is never to late. Continued success in your ventures and in health.
Thanks Peter for another fantastic and timely video. Health is definitely number 1 - without good health life is a damn sight harder. Thank you for all the content you have created in 2023, your perspective on life is spot on and helps keep it real. As a bloke in my early 50's there is a lot that resonates with me I always look forward to receiving your emails and watching your latest videos. All the best to you and yours for a fantastic and healthy 2024.
Agree on all those points Peter with some resonating especially 😀 . I enjoy your philosophical pieces even if to me you are but a youngster 😀 . Not sure if you follow him but Sean Tucker has some really deep photographyly centric philosophical pieces. 😀 After 43 years in engineering certainly on retirement I’ve finally had the freedom (and time) to exercise the other side of my brain and as you say the access to problem solving and learning are massively larger than when I started work in 73 (in the slide rule era !) . Seasons greetings to you and your family and all the best for 2024 😀
Yes, I'm very familiar with Sean's work, and I certainly appreciate his insights and intellect. Thanks so much for all your generous support, Chris, and for all your thoughtful commentary throughout the year. Take care of yourself, and here's to another go around the sun. 🙂
We d We do think alike on many topics! Another excellent motivational video! I really like this one, and thanks for adding one of my video clips 😀 Always a pleasure, Peter! Take care, buddy!
Thank you for good insights, I have been thinking about this too and I fully agree with you. I wish you a Happy new year from Sweden and look forward to see you on RUclips soon again. Take care! Johan
A great video to start a new year. Happy New year Peter. Thanks for the great content this year, not least the quit drinking one. Day 40 now and loving it. Why didn’t I stop earlier! 👍.
Hello Peter, what a great video. Your 5 points are absolute correct and health is really important. No generation before us had this opportunities and capabilities. Thank you for this video. I wish you a happy and healthy New Year. Best regards from Germany 🇩🇪
What a great video, and what a way to tell a story. I guess most of us want to change our lives in a way or another, I for one always want to, when i feel that I reach a plateau in one aspect of my daily life, usually professionally. Please, never stop putting your thoughts on video :)
I’d forgotten that feeling of what-if, imagining taking a completely different course, and the rejuvenating emotions that brings. Time to spend less that 100% of me on my job which has become a means to an end i’m not sure i want or need. So Mr Fritz thank you for promoting the thought and for providing unusually insightful content. Stands apart from the crowd. Please do keep them coming
Well said, Jon. When it all comes down to it, many of us feel the same way, I’m sure. We don’t really want (or need) the end for which we work. Thanks for that insight. 👍
Real world advice, as always Peter. Meeting new challenges is a topic I’m very interested in as I turn 71 this year and am thinking about what’s next. So appreciate your efforts online… best wishes for you and your family this holiday season! And Happy New Year!
You are looking really healthy, Peter, so we can tell you are walking the talk! Great motivation to wrap up the year and serendipitous timing as I was just having some of these same conversations with myself this evening when I decided to stay up late and watch just a little more You Tube! And there you were! Have a great 2024!
Thank you, Juanita! Lots of work still required, but I'm certainly feeling good these days. Thanks for always watching my videos, luv. Here's to a wonderful 2024!
Thank you Peter, Good content. But the reason for the season starts in the very beginning. PLEASE read the book of John Mark Comer: Garden-City-Work-Being-Human
Thank you Peter, I feel lucky to have found you. The perspectives and advice you offer are super helpful. Please continue to do this, even when you have a shit day and doubt yourself, we all do that. Wishing you a prosperous 2024 🙏🏻
Great content mate. Be true to yourself indeed! Just looked up Common Sense on Wikipedia, seems the definition given may becoming less common generally, or is it that as we age we can acquire more?
Thanks for the videos throughout the year and especially this one . Great message , content and story. Well crafted and executed plus packed with cool B roll, snippets and visuals .
Thanks, Chris, for being so encouraging and supportive all the time. You're one of the people I thought of in my closing remarks. All the best for 2024.
Cheers Peter for this. As a 37 year old feeling "old" and "time passing by quickly", your mention hit me of happiness in the pursuit rather than pursuit of happiness. Enjoying the journey is the key!
I know exactly how you feel. That switch in perspective can make all the difference, though. 👍
Fabulous and timely message for a discouraged 66 year old. I feel a fresh motivation ! You told me exactly what I needed to hear! Thank you 👍
Thank you for saying that. All the best to you for 2024. 👍

Yes! Let's move into 2024 with the curiosity and determination of an 8 year-old and live courageusly!
Yes - and the sex drive if a 30-year old!

Agree entirely. The benefits of consciously crafting who you want to be really resonates with me. Wonderful message. Thanks again Peter!
Thank you, Mark.
I've just turned 39 and considering a major career change. I was dreading the energy required to get there but I think it feels right.
Thank you!
I know that feeling all too well. Good luck.

What's my next gig or gigs? Thanks for the approach.
I've been asking myself that question since I was 8. Some of the answers turned out to be real adventures!
Great video Peter, I was wondering which brand of model cars those were in your office they look great. Are they Maisto?
Thank you, Prabhjit! The cars are mostly Minichamps and AUTOArt, plus one Kyosho. I love quality diecast models - especially the AUTOArt ones.
It’s just another year month day year. What are we talking about here. Reinvention is just another word for starting over. If your good why?
Did you watch the whole video?
That was a Colombian Chrismas party....
That was my daughter’s 21st. It was fantastic!
