Thanks for the help. My shop came with the exact same door and frame. The instructions were pretty much useless. With your help, I was able to install my doors, and make them look good. Thanks again for your help.
Great detailed video! Would you be able to provide manufacturer of door frame? I clicked on Amazon link but it sent me to a different kind of door. I am having trouble finding one with kerfs for weather stripping. Thanks!
what if your door is too short and doesn't reach the purlin/header? My door is 72" to the top and the metal is at 74". The extra pieces are too tall. It is frustrating me greatly.
@@chickenfarmer209 you can use a 2x4 angle screwed on to drop the height. If you have a cee girt u can flip it over to drop the height. If this doesn't work you may need to frame an opening that you can attach the door in.
Im to this point on my building but my side girt is 2 inches above the door. Whats the normal fix for this? Its a 40x50 with 14'sides. All clips are down so they are not flipped but sure seems like the holes were punch high on all of them or is this a normal thing on some buildings?
Thank you brotha! Just watched your video on squaring a metal building and then this video. And I’ll be doing those two things this week! Questions I’m assuming windows are the same it’s just that the window will be able to slide up and down in the channel to the height you want?
Yes frame your window to the size desired... usually 1/2" bigger opening than window measures... and to the desired height. Before installing doors or windows, building needs to plumbed, squared, and all bolts tight. Check doors again before wall panels are screwed off.
Hi..I got a steel door to put in..but there's a steel frame that came with the building ..separate from the door box which I bought..I have to cut the girt which is no problem.. the steel frame is 7'2x3'4..will door box interfere with this....I assume that door box gets welded to frame..but not sure..have you installed this kind?
You will need to assemble together. Frame the door with the frame at the same time. If you assemble frame first then it will be hard to get the door and jambs in later. We usually use screws and do not weld.
I have been doing pre fabricated metal buildings for 11 years and still hate walk doors lol Edit: just out of curiosity, how many of those wood screws do you have 😆
@@BuildingwithNARF but why do they mix the screws instead of separating them...... it is annoying. Idk what door manufacturer you get with your buildings, we always get assa abloy. I like how your door has the threshold put in before setting. Ours is cut to fit and installed after. Is yours spaced perfectly before installing?
I was putting in a welded steel frame and we put a drop nail in that expands in the concrete wen u hit it. Ok and I dropped the door about a foot up and we think I bowed it in the middle by the nob and thats why its not shutting smoothly. How can I fix this 900$ door lol
Good vidio but not info, on drill bits to stablize door pin nuts 1/2 inch or whetever. Door long lenths wide more inportant the floor cilling. Higts metcments to cill ect ect you nees mechements espfic on what you showing! Thanks!

Not sure of brand but it is a standard kind. Should be able to find at any builder supply.
@@BuildingwithNARF ok mine is the same without the groove for the seal channel.
you may have an interior door frame
Is wood pole barn same ?and do I need wood frame around metal framing of door?
All according to the door you have.

The wood screws are for a wood slab door

I have a few but usually we throw the screws away...lol..why are they included?

You did not show how to fix the door frame to the purlin. I watched the video to see that part
Screw the top flange to the wall girt
Word got do 1 at work
Hmm. Guess I'm gonna frame a new door space out of 20 ga. steel because the door does not reach purlin height. Damn.
Yes, If you use other style doors you will need to frame an opening.
Ahh yes, the real truth about door adjusting. Start with a level and then go for looks good works good.
