Very nice Davie, as David mentions above, so often the better fish are in the head of the pool getting first "dibs" on any food. Lovely bend in the glass rod👍
It was great fun Chris, one of the very few times this season when there were fish rising all over the river, not my local river, about fifteen miles away. 20 quid for a season permit!!
Belting session Davie! the head of the pool is often a good place to find a bigger trout! I don't know if its a North/South thing, but our trout fishing is a bit stale at the moment, despite lots of good water for more than a month. Waiting for levels to settle a bit to fish at night for sea trout. Very bonny river, looks like something from much further west and north!
It's a gorgeous area mate, rolls down from the Ochil Hills eventually emptying into the River Forth. A spate river, it had been high 2 days earlier after heavy rain, great fun after the levels dropped 👍

Thanks for the kind comments!
What part of the devon are you fishing is it up at rubbing bridge
What rod and line are you using? I have tried that bit with 6wt with size 10 or 12 daddy long legs dry flies. Only had a bit of success with them
I'm using a 7ft 3 weight, great fun. I don't really use any flies bigger than a size 16. Think I just hit the River at the right time!
finding that rod oright davie boy
Tis a thing of beauty father, you would like it!
