- We're packing for next weekend's Mount Dora, Florida antique show, the last major one of the season! Lessons learned from the last show help us know what to do this time, so we're reliving the pains and pleasures of that event as we go on a chilly day shopping excursion.
We've survived the rainy set-up, and now it's time to look for big collections, buy fun novelties we can flip for a profit (remember Charlie Tuna?), and crazy things we've never seen before (like the first 'automatic' toothbrush)! There's so much to see, it's clumsy picking up costume jewelry with gloves on, but we happily find some vintage bargains that make it worth the effort. Then we head under the pavilions, where more sheltered dealer spaces offer cool antique phonographs, a listed modern artist's sculpture, and vibrant Marc Belleaire ceramics to offer a little relief from this uncharacteristically cool Florida day!
Back In our own booth, we greet our first shopper of the show, meet wonderful collectors and viewers, and have fun with Sandy of "My Flippin' Van Life" and RUclips's "Lily Pond Treasures"! In the end, we do well both buying and selling, which encourages us now as we look forward to this weekend's show, when a bevy of RUclips content creators are expected! The blending of the online vintage community into the real world of antique shows makes me excited to get to do this one more time in Florida this season-February 16, 17 & 18.

I think this cookie jar is a walrus, not a seal. 11:23. Stay warm.😁⛄️ ❣️
Oh of course! It's so funny to me how I'll see something obvious and the wrong word comes out, and because I self-edit I miss it
Love it, George. So many treasures. Thank you.
Thanks George!
can’t wait to see tonight’s distraction from all the horrible, depressing news, etc. thank you, George!
This is the place to be, forget all that outside noise and we'll remember how to be good to each other on Valentine's Day!
@@TheAntiqueNomad yes george happy valentine s day
Absolutely ❤ ❤ ❤
❤️👋🏻😁Happy Valentines Day 😁👋🏻❤️George & Xeno
Thank you 🤗 Happy Valentine's Day!
Enjoy your videos. Thank you for sharing your wealth of knowledge. JoAnn ❤
You are so welcome, I love to share!
I always like the tour u give of Mt. Dora. I think, Jocelyn is now visiting Florida. Hope Jeffery T. visits !
Yes, they're all coming I believe! I'm excited to see
❤❤❤
Thank you, George. Happy Valentine's Day to everyone :)
Same to you!
Our church had chairs like those wooden folding deck chairs. I hated them because sometimes they would pinch your bottom which was especially bad when you were a little girls in a dress!
Lol I'm sure that wasn't good!
"Iron Cross" is the name of the exercise in gymnastics. Some really beautiful pieces there. Sorry it was so chilly!
Very good to know, I didn't get that far in gymnastics
Great video George! Thanks for sharing!
Thank you, George!
Never seen or heard of the Indiana Glass fruit pieces. I am drawn to the colors. Thank you for showing us !!
You are so welcome! I think they're going to attract collectors in the future
Wild George, this was great. I love it when you go shopping around.😊😊😊
Me too!! You'll like next Monday's video too then
another great show. thanks George
Thank you so much!
❤️❤️❤️
Fun ,love watching 🎉❤
I’m on replay now! I was listening to 80s synthesizer music 😔 I got on a role. ❤️🐩
It's fun ❤❤❤ have a good night, Poodle. Remember, Jeffery's Fri night Sale is tomorrow, Thursday. Hope we are both there 😊
@@janetpogue4970 Thank you Janet so much 👍❤️🐩
Hi Art, hope you have a great sale at Mt. Dora
Thanks so much!
It was fun to watch. A lot of cool and interesting things. Greetings from Poland. 💙
Came in late will ho back to watch it! 😊
Have fun!
I love the hoodie intro. I thought you had one of those old wigs on for a second and were pretending to be a lawyer or judge. 😁
Lol someone else said I looked like a Jawa from Star Wars
I like your plush lined garments.
Charlie Tuna! I remember some of these grocery-related things because my dad worked for Associated Grocers in Seattle back in the day. We ended up with a lot of weird branded items that would probably be worth some money now if we'd kept them!
Love the phones. I have a brown donut phone that was my grandma's. I wonder if it's worth anything? I can't really see myself ever using a landline again, but who knows.
Oh gosh, the Pink Panther! My dad used to play tenor sax and he would play the Pink Panther theme and I would start to cry (I think because it was loud, it would scare me). 😭
I bought one of those Space Needle decanters on eBay years ago, and it arrived in about 100 pieces because they did a poor packing job 😩
I imagine they would, some of that free swag is something now! Donut phone is a good model, brown is a more common color but still could sell in good shape for $50-100 or perhaps more. I played tenor sax too, never mastered that song.
Sir George, knight of the square tent... the grey hoodie gives you vibes of the king arthurs court..
This is an amazing video. Happy Valentine’s Day.❤
Hi Lori! Happy day to you too
Oh! The snail piece! The decoupage nude! Never knew plates came in cylindrical packing!. My friend sponge painted her wall 20 years ago and she was insulted I didn’t like it. Beautiful gymnast sculpture. Too much to remark on however I really like your interaction with the people. 🌹🙌🏻🐩
Hi Poodle, you were nice to root for me last night for my bid on the Bavarian plate ❤ Happy Valentine's Day.
Poodle, u might remember I won the kissing Escamos, that were Barb's. I gave them to my husband and he thinks they are great. Of course they are great!! I took him out to dinner and gave that special gift. I already ate, most of my gift , a heart box of candy❤
@@janetpogue4970 Fabulous!! And I eat candy and bad stuff like cookies in handfuls 💪🏻
The nude was SO from my childhood, dad liked them and mom didn't...gee, wonder why? My friend's sponge painting looked good in the context of her house, but was a hassle to overpaint when she moved lol
@@janetpogue4970 I did want you to own it 💪🏻💕
Happy Valentines ❤
Thank you!
Hello George. Thank you for sharing. 🙂
My pleasure!
Those strip puzzles were cool.
Àwsome video
Great video as always, wish I could be there!
We'll meet again
A lot of wonderful, cool items. Hope you had a profitable day at your booth. You always have amazing items !!!!!
Thanks, all the Florida shows have been great so far!
So informative❣️ Love George as always. 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Thank you!
Ohhh the mention of Godansk. I was in Poland last July for 3 weeks to tour and vacation. Purchased Baltic amber. Some of my favorite pieces are with the fossilized inscects.
✌🏼💚🙏🏻 from Vermont
Great to see you up there!
So much great stuff! Someday I will get down there to shop that show!
Please do!
The "iron cross" is the name of an actual men's gymnastics move performed on Still Rings (as depicted in the Schomberg sculpture). You must hold it (static) for 2 seconds in order to get full credit (with no deductions) from the judges. George, I'm so sorry I missed meeting you at your recent estate sale in Pinellas; I had to work all three days. I was so sad. Perhaps one day...
Thank you for that, it's been too long since I watched gymnastics to remember that! I hope I'll see you at another estate sale in Pinellas, or perhaps at the Jewel Antique Mall appraisal fair this Saturday in Belleair Bluffs
Hi George, I'm hoping to be going to Mt Dora this weekend (finally) do you know what space number you are going to be at, or directions to find your location??? I'm excited to finally get to meet so many people that I have watched for many years. I can't wait!!!
I'm so glad we ran into each other! I'm in Space 4079/4090
Haulover Beach in the South, New Smyrna Beach un the North for surf in Fl.
There is a bit! We had just a tad near Cocoa Beach as well
Hi I'm from Canada. The beloved "house hippo" PSA encouraged critical thinking, an important Canadian value!
Yes! We could use a bit more of that south of the border
I always enjoy your videos I learn so much. Thank you for Sharing. Please Stay Safe Happy and Healthy Have A Wonderful Day
Thank you so much! I'll keep them coming
17:23 The "iron cross" IS the real, official name of that position/move done by male gymnasts.
Thank you!
Happy Valentines to one of the biggest ❤ around.
Just thought I’d let you know about one of their ads on this vlog . A woman stated she just watched GWill clear some shelves off . It went into their trash compacter, wowsers !
It's true, Goodwill crushes a lot of clear glass that no one will buy into cullet to sell to be made into new glass here in St. Petersburg, FL
Today me n baby ray day
Sorry I missed the premier. Would have been teasing the Seattle boy, whining about the rainy cold weather!
Lol yes but you notice I avoid rainy cold weather
I find your voice calming. You should do radio or audio books.
Once I tell everyone all I know, I might just do that
You look great in the hoodie!
Lol thanks
OK... so, I just got to @13:25 and, all I can say is...
Padumph padummm... padumph padummm... padumph padum, padumh, padum, paduh, paduuhhhh, padumph paduhhhhh...pah da, deladedleumphudumph (lost in translation).
The year; 1963. The place; a drive-in theater in Reno, Nevada. I was eight years old and had the time of my life playing in the kiddie zone until dark, when the movie, The Pink Panther, began. So many fun memories elicited from a simple album cover graphic. Now, I am 68. Peter Sellers is long gone (though Chance, the gardener, still lingers... in my world anyway), but Henry Mancini's soundtrack? It has become a timeless memento of my youth and, after 61 years, still echos in my head. Thanks for the stroll down memory lane, my friend. ☺
I love it too! I'm humming along, not lost in translation at all
@@TheAntiqueNomad ☺🎶🎶
Was that guy cleaning the window at the end of The Matrix or just a really good at it on your part. At one point he glitches good?
Hi george ❤😮
Hi there!
@@TheAntiqueNomad Happy Day after Valentines
I'm in "need" of those framed strip puzzles, very cool looking. I'm having no luck finding them online, maybe that type of puzzle has a different name? A nasty, rainy cold evening in Portland, so I can't work up much sympathy :)
Lol I don't blame you! I would try Victorian puzzle, child's puzzle, antique puzzle, etc.
George, I watch you faithfully and am so envious of the shows you go to. Are there any good ones down here in Texas?
Round Top in March is the huge one in the town of the same name, but you also might try Canton Market Days
That’s awful about the crack in the McCoy…boy you really have to totally scrutinize every piece!
Yes, try before you buy!
That abalone-sterling pin towards the end is gorgeous! Where do you plan on selling it? Depending on the price, I'd be interested! Thanks for the education!
Everyone loved it, but it sold immediately
✨💖✨
Happy Valentines, how much did you say for the black panther lamp?
The one with the woman is $135
@@TheAntiqueNomad thank you,George
QUESTION: re salt glaze crock, how is bird design? I have a bird one available priced at $50
Depends on age, size, condition. It sounds like yours is on the cheap side but would depend on those factors
I wish you would told the price on the mammy clock I own the same one
🧥 🧣 🧤 👢 🧦
Stay warm, George !! ☀
You 😊could stand a 10lb weight gain. It will help keep u a bit warner and be a healthy thing 4 u , I think .
I just don't gain weight! I weighed my same weight from high school to age 55, then gained about 7 pounds and now that's been my weight for all the time since
George...its because you never are still! I wish so badly that I had one quarter of your energy! Getting my stuff ready for Custer tho! Its taking me a bit longer this year but Nothing will keep me away! I also sent you a message for when you do sit down for a couple minutes! Lol. Hugs & be safe!
Ok will look for it@@Sass-Glass
Hey George! I dropped you note on IG.
Will check now thank you!
