Cannon once tapped Jean-Luc Godard to adapt _King Lear_ for them, under the mistaken conception that just hiring any sort of prestige filmmaker to adapt Shakespeare would be instant credibility. The end result was... exactly what you'd expect if you have any sort of familiarity with Godard's works.

I would have loved to see a kaiju parody or comedy movie! My favorite show Mystery Science Theater 3000 always riffs on Sci-fi and Monster movies The newest season had "Atlantic Rim" a Pacific Rim Rip off That was so cheesy Not even the Ninja turtles would eat a pizza like that! 🤣 Also Happy to say I got my text today and my MIB Pushie has been pre-ordered can not wait! 😎
@@kingjamesc1156 I wasn't properly read up on the whole Mickey Mouse-situation before, but if I understand correctly sometime by 2024 people will be able to use the Steamboat Willie-version of Mickey Mouse in their own works, however not any newer versions. I guess you could do own interpretations of the character as long as it doesn't resemble too much any post-1924 versions of the character. Meaning by 1954 one could use that version of Godzilla and their own spin on the character. Someone feel free to correct me if I'm wrong. Edit: * Godzilla by 2054 of course, not 1954.
@@Mer0lk I think the Showa G-Jira films will enter the Australian public domain in 2068 because one of G-Jira’s three creators died in 1997. Unfortunately, G-Jira is still trademarked so tightly that I don’t think I’ll use him at all in my own projects.
