The thing with the Mig-21 is that the short wings only work right at high speed, so the fuel consumption rate is very high... but still.. beautiful plane.
The modern avionics kinda messed with my head but the front windscreen said MiG 21. The roll rate and tight maneuvering shows why the Americans had a hard time shooting it down when in the hands of a competent pilot.

PS that's why they have two red lights on the left and on the right of the cockpit, the MIG's can reach surprisingly fast at the maximum permitted envelope of the plane itself.

Mig21 is very rare for piloting. Imagine. 400km/h landing speed. IF you pull afterburner lever than afterburner starts after 12 seconds.. Very complicated for piloting..

That’s how you roll a plane. More stick = faster roll rate. The only time you don’t is in snap rolls... which on this plane is pointless because of its high roll rate.

I just looked up this plane. It has helmet mounted sights probably for radar and off boresight IR missiles. And relatively modern radar!

Looks like the nosewheel was riding over the embedded runway lighting. Some pilots will offset the rollout in smaller aircraft just for that reason.

False information! Landing speed of the early versions 300km/h (same as at its age with Mach2 capability) later only 270-275km/h
