I feel like the moders dont want us to play tall cause most of the buildings make less gold than normally
They dont want us to horde land.
I don’t know about that, the domain limits are so low I feel like they don’t want us playing wide either.

They just want to simulate the absolute fuckery that is GOT at all times
It's much worse in the CK2 mod. Not only do buildings make you barely any money, there are loads of events that strip you of large portions of your wealth. E.g. you have to pay to educate your children when they turn 12, marrying off your daughters often requires you to pay a dowry to the husband's family, and 3 years worth of your income is taken from your treasury and divided amongst your children as inheritance whenever your character dies. Making (and saving) money is _much_ easier in this mod.
I feel kinda bad for modders having presumably worked on the tourney system for many many hours and now CK3 just implements something way better they will have to integrate with...
I mean, the alternate is mandatory oversight of mods by developers.
It's their own fault. They took YEARS to make this mod and they wasted time on non-essential features. They didn't need to reinvent the game, they just needed to make a GOT map and events, plus a few unique mechanics to represent certain elements.
@@arandombard1197 I gotta say that I personally am quite happy THAT they are re-inventing the game. If development continues on like this year and in this quality in a couple of years it will be in an entirely different dimension than ck2.
And even now I feel like it is the better game. There are some areas where ck2 is superior but there are also many others in which ck3 wins hands down.

20:01 Spies basically perform the spymaster's "find secrets" task in whatever court they're staying in, so you can go to the list of a target lord's courtiers and recruit any people with the deceitful and callous traits because they almost always accept. From there you wait until they find information in their respective courts that you can then use for hooks
I only figured it out yesterday tho so I don't know if there's an easier way to use that mechanic, but that's been my personal experience
Clearly Tywin being friends with you was a major coup, if you were not hellbent on removing him or ruining the Lannisters, then House Vikary would staunchly support Tywin as opposed to overthrowing him, what a genius 😂😂

Had a great run with littlefinger where i managed to get my son to be lord paramount of the vale and my player heir grandson to also inherit dorne and another grandson to become lord paramount of the reach. By just killing everyone in the way😂
I know that it won't really work for this playthrough, but if in the future you're ever doing a challenge (and not going for an achievement) I recommend using "BDW's Custom Nicknames Mod" as it allows you to give yourself any nickname that you want through a decision. I think it'd add a bit to the playthrough, especially in those situations where you accomplish something great but aren't given a nickname for it.
Great start, i appreciate you starting as a lowly lord as it gives a different perspective than the big paramounts

Haha Kevan is actually Tywin's brother, and in the show/books is actually pretty close to him which is even funnier
Hopefully the first of many great CK3AGOT videos, there's other dead Houses to revive and other great living Houses to play!
With all the famous characters in this world, following their stories here will very interesting! Even the new characters you get, you could follow the stories of them and their Houses since Houses are very important in this world.
Your Lonshaw vassals funnily enough has a red lion sigil just like the Reynes, you could build a story from that connection? Hope to see some other stories from your other knight Vhalaso.
Btw, your Castellan needs at least 10 points in a Skill to do different roles

With the castellan the person who is assigned that role has to have a certain amount of skill points to be able to do a lot more than what was shown. I think if everything is above 10 there's more options.
Castellan is pronounced ' *CAST* L Anne ', or 'Cuss *TELL* In' ; I've heard both but I think the first is more accurate
A castellan is a manager of a castle, both in times of war and in peace, who serves the lord who owns the castle. Castillian, what you were saying, is a Spanish ethnicity :P

The mod needs some work I started on bear island replacing the Mormonts prior to the rebellion then helped Robert win a little with my 2000 men then after the war I got offered the iron throne at the age of 23 (5years into the game)

I appreciate the mods choice of limiting personal domains. Thinking about it neither in the lore nor in reality would someone manage more than maybe three regions directly, that's the entire reason that you have vassals to govern the rest of the land for you. It's also a good suppressor on the players power because I think a lot of people just utilize high stewardship to overpower the AI.
I hate it, there needs to be a balance between lore and playability. They should have kept vanilla settings and just tweaked it slowly over time imo

Raising development with steward isn’t viable in this mod. Better off collecting taxes . Get a steward castellan as well 😂 most building give 0.1 - 0.2 gold lol

I ran my revival Reyne and here are the results (so far dude)
- reclaim the castamere and spend thousand of golds restore the city. took the revival of Reyne.
- claim nearby countries and become the most powerful house. Tywin is crazy enough to grant me spymaster position
- I poisoned Tywin, Tyrion (;_;) and using hooks on his heir to conquer more.
- took all Lannister lands but before I can march to Casterly Rock, Lannister falls and somehow their heir is Baratheon (ironic).
- I took the rock anyway and drove the new lord paramount out, force his daughter married my heir and stabbed his son. bruh.
- I am the Lord paramount of Westerland and convert all the westerman to Castamere culture. good.
- Sail to Old wyk in trying to reclaims my lost Valyrian sword but even I took their land I can't claim it.
Damn. All that work and you don't get your sword back? You hate to see it. Sounds like an epic playthrough though

It looked like you couldn't Knight your son because you needed 150 Prestige and you were at -540 Prestige at the time

Do you have the game on steam? if you do you just need to download the mod on the steam workshop, launch ck3 then go to the playsets section and add the mod to your current playset
I really dont like them making the money making buildings so bad and the domain limit so low. They neither wann see us play tall or wide and it’s frustrating
The domain is low because in asoiaf lore it’s very uncommon for a lord to have more than one seat
the domain limit makes a lot of sense lorewise.
In the lore you dont see these lords holding a ton of castles, so it makes sense. In vanilla you can easily have a huge domain limit, to the point that i think the CK3 devs even mentioned nerfing that in future updates in one of the dev diaries.
The major complaint i have however is that they only allow you to make duchy titles if you control directly the duchy capital. This screw me a lot since i was above my vassal limit as a lord paramount but couldnt create any duchies to give my vassals because my vassal controlled the capital instead of me.
So it is a bit contraditory. They dont give too much domain limit (which makes sense) but then made more difficult to create a duchy title, which since you cant hold too many castles, you need to give them to vassals which can lead to too many vassals.
About the money i dont think it is a big issue.
I mean, my first run was in the Iron Islands with the Harlaws, the terrain is not that good but still on my best holding there I was making more than 10 gold and on my worst, about 3-4 gold. And when i overthrew the Greyjoys and become Lord Paramount of the Iron Islands i was making 30+ gold, without any special building, so is not that big of a deal.
The vassals do contribute to that, but on my 4 buildings i was easily making more than 20 gold. Then you join the vassal taxes, take the expenses (MaA ´, court positions, etc...) and i get those 30+.
So my guess is that they reduced the gold you make (compared to vanilla) to ballance it. As it is you can already make a lot of gold, if they put the values of the vanilla, that profit would increase to crazy (maybe unrealistic) amounts.
Its frustating... i highly recommend to everyone to go on the files to change the settings
(Copy them before just to have a backup, just in case)
Than change them back to 5/stewardship and the money gainned per building. More difficult bcs there is quite a few, but at elast the game will the more like Vanilla
Not that big of a deal, you can still play tall as a Duke. My stewardship Duke rulers have 6 to 8 domain limit earning 35 gold per month, that's actually way higher than average because the nerfs affect the AI more than the player since they don't know how to play around it.

You have to click on the bottom left on the blank portrait when you've selected the ruin. When you do it'll open a menu and you can restore the ruin for a bit of gold.

Honestly, I'm shocked Tywin didn't do anything about the fact you unlanded Kevan. I guess there's no real reason for the AI to care, but it feels off. Either the Devs or modders need to figure out a way to code the AI to be a little bit more aware of their extended family. Like how a lord won't care that his grandson is getting married matrilineally because the game doesn't realize yet that he's technically second in line.
Yeah, extended family should have some effect on AI, even if not as strong
I did a Vikary to Reyne game too! You can also play as the house Salt of Blackblood, in the Iron Isles and revive the house Hoare. I recommend it
There's actually quite a few houses that can revive their dead dynastic kinsmen. House Oldflowers can restore House Gardener in the Reach, while Houses Bolling and Wensington can restore House Durrandon in the Stormlands.
