Luis rosmman is a hero of this repir industry. He help me a lot to repair devices ❤
Possibly one of the best compliments payed to Louis Rossman is to have you, an already proven very skilled and competent tech, refer to his guides.
I just wish all techs (in all areas of expertise) were this honest.
When Alex smiles like that after doing an amazing job, you feel a boost in your own confidence also. Keep up the good job Alex.
Low melt solder reduces the chance of heat damage to the doner component when it's removed.
Thanks for the video Alex.
I loved the idea of having a "Better Than Factory Stamp" on every repaired board
Thank you for pointing us to the repair wiki. 😊😊😊
I learned a ton in this video... I think it finally all makes sense now... my problem is confidence. I have not had a rescue yet of a logic board, so I send them off. one day
The Big Boss Nominated you as a king .congratulations Alex 🎉.
amazing job 👌👌thx Louis Rossmann , Alex and Big Boss
i thought this going to be just replacing a burnt component. good job sharing Rossman's site.
Great to see people (knowing about and ) using Louis's great work. Nice.
For components with 2 pads we usually use a solder tweezer from JBC. No surrounding parts will be damaged!
JBC is at another level. Other devices even Professional ones look like a toy in comparing with JBC
As an electrician my first guess would be a capacitor, followed by a fuse.
It sounds obvious but it isn't ! this is years of experience ! followed by a fuse (WOW) 😮that's amazing
As a fellow sparky, id go the fuse then the capacitor. Either way its a quick check.
A job well done as always... Love from Pakistan.
Well done, that repair wiki certainly helped. Probably an illusion, the large ceramic cap in the middle at 0:52, bottom at 1:12, appears to be cracked.
If it was cracked laptop wouldnt work. It isnt cracked just look a bit better and you are going to see that the cap is okay it just has what i assume is hair on it
Alex's smile gives us all hope !!!
Awwww big boss said to alex you are the king god bless him 🥰🥰
والله ملك يا خال. Great job 👍
Learning about Wiki Repair was a very valuable piece of information. Thank you!
Like a surgeon , steady hands !
I love all of your content, and how much effort you always put into your work. Thank you for all the videos you post and for always keeping it real.
Alex I love your smile so keep on smiling and spread your knowledge to others God bless you bro ❤❤❤❤❤❤
It may be fun when big boss takes us through his process and the later be like Let me give the board to Alex to fix and I will be back to finish the assembly haha 😂
this guy is so awesome, i bet he can repair my broken heart
He gives free training all the time. He is never selfish. Cut the Prozac in half next time.
i keep the playlist running, and i miss many likes, best of all, thanks for sharing
Yes definitely get the stamp! It's your trademark.. Good work!
I'm addicted to these videos. They're like yoga to me.
he left the big boss with the hard job, of reassembling the macbook air lol, nice repair as always
Excellent work Alex, including your etched better than factory stamp :) This issue of popping caps is still there in the next gen Macbook air as well. Can be a bad design or bad lot of caps.. Keep up your good work as always!
The better than factory sticker needs to have Big Bosses face on them too :)
A few years ago, If anyone told me I'd be addicted to watching an electronics repair channel I would've thought they were crazy. And yet, here we are, lol.
Nice of Rossman to do this.
KAPTON tape is handy for protecting heat sensitive parts like plastic connectors.
I learned many things from u in soldering.. Excellent💯
People pay money for it, what are you talking about😂😂
best sales man
Alex is the Captain of all Caps😁
Great vid Alex. You don't need to collab in the repair wiki, your videos are far better than any text description.
Why not? It helped him to diagnose quickly so a simple thanks could be uploading some tutorial.
Any idea when your microscope will be back in stock?
The voltage injector is out of stock as well.
We are expecting the microscope shipment by Jan 10-15. NF.Short is in stock. northridgefix.com/product/power-supply-short-injection-detector-with-voltage-and-current-control/
you are good better than factory PETER FROM WYOMING AUSTRALIA
Thank you Alex.
Happy Christmas 🎉🎉🎉
بالفعل انك ملك يا علي
Thank you for the very very nice inspiration my friend 🙂
Good job mate 👍
badge of honor 🤣, Amazing Work as always. Thanks for sharing your knowledge
Excellent work. (Of course, it's hard to expect anything less....)
Great job Alex!
+1 for a second channel of BigBoss. ;-)
Love this stuff 🙂
for shielding stuff, you don't want to melt or burn, I've seen people use kapton tape. is that a viable option or is there a reason we should not be using that? curious for my own purposes.
quick follow up, what were you soaking the flux up with at the end there?
All the best for the new year m8
The existence of a "Better than Factory" stamping would be: The user would never see or appreciate the stamp, as he would have to disassemble his rig in order to see it!
Only a follow up repair tech would have the "honor and privilege" of witnessing a NorthridgeFix "Better than Factory" stamp.
what were your heat settings for the hot air in order to remove the capacitor?
Awesome job
Good job. 😊😊
Great job

my favorite word of the year
the short is gone
Say hello to the bad guy that should be on your merch.
customer now have very special motherbord 😂😂👍👍
Your the king , boss ❤️
which hot air station would you recommend? the best 863 or the atten st-862d is the best one worth 30 euro extra? it has more wattage, but i also don't know the brands if they're known for quality or whatever.
i was planning on just trying some microsoldering and thought i'd buy decent equipment in stead of going through unnecesary frustration with cheaper equipment.
ps @NorthRidgeFix - Let Big Boss know that I have that SAME jacket. It's a good jacket! :)
Love this!
Where did you get the board view and schematics?
What's the general sort of cost for a repair like this? Sadly Apple have most of us convinced that a dead board is a new machine in terms of cost prices.
Haha 😂 that’s absolutely true, I had to spoil more than 5 motherboards of different Apple devices until I learnt how to fix what they say it’s unfixable from Apple
Generally speaking a motherboard replacement from Apple would be around £700-1000 depending on model.
@@Dheazzo Rewarding for sure :). It is something I considered doing myself. I was one of those kids that would take apart things like the family PC back in the 90s, with no clue on how to put it back together so this field does interest me ;).
@@CLIPZZ345 Oof, that's a sting. I guess the whole replacement thing works better for Apple and the perceived customer experience due to not having a device whilst it's in for repair, etc.
What do you think would be a fair, but also worthwhile charge that someone like NorthFix or good old Louis Rossman to charge for this, or even if the guys can answer themselves. I'd be really interested @rossmangroup and @NorthridgeFix
Really amazing video Sir. I have a question, what program do you use to read schematic and layouts, and how to get the schematics and layouts for the laptops?
Thinking the same... they seem like a extremely helpful tool
Probably either OpenBoardView or FlexBoardView
Once you have the board file me personally I use the software ware called BOARD VIEW
I would buy NF dot STAMP 😆👍
Ahh the good ol’ tantrumulm capacitor strikes again.
amazing
I am wondering where a person can learn these repair skills?.. and what is the name of the specific study?
Do you ever have issues using second hand components from donor boards? Why not use new components?
Where do you get the board view diagramm ?
Thnks v mitch.pleas put traductions with vedeo
Awesome ✌🏻✌🏻✌🏻
Did You move a new building?
Looks like we got an Air fryer😂
If your are 'almost 99% positive that that is the faulty component', does that mean you are 98.8% positive and if so, how do you get so precise?
There is "главная" tab in boardview. It's in Russian.
Hai Saya memiliki iMac akhir tahun 2013 dengan seri logic board 820-3588-A , yang tidak menyala / booting. Saya cek PSU keluar daya 12Volt
Setelah saya cek membuka sedikit layar, lalu saya tancapkan kabel listirk tanpa menekan tombol on di belakang. Terlihat 3 led nyala semua, kipas berputar dan hardisk terasa bekerja,
Tapi tidak bisa booting dan tidak terdengar bunyi lonceng, apakah bisa di bantu,
Happiness.

18:19 - Aha, so this is the fabled "wireless heatpipe" cooling solution by Apple - think different! :P
I wonder what is this fan blowing at. :)
Why reinvent the wheel - Correct it's visual inspecting
assalam alaykom
What type of the multimetre please
👌👌👍👍
The most boring part about doing this repair is the disassembly and reassembly, it takes longer than replacing the one faulty component.
One man's boring job is another man's dream job. Big boss loves it.
yes its boring.
Especially Apple's devices, are a real pain to disassemble.
My mother used to say "if you are bored, you are boring".
BiG BOSS 😅
y fan wasnt working?
Where can I get the hot tweezer that you use?
Log onto their website. They almost always ship out the same day😂
😂@@raindeergames6104
👍👍
1932 it lasted a LONG time, owner must be really old.
Someone used some shotty AC adapter to power that Macbook Air on
but there is no fan spin....
wow
maybe just BTF stamp..
no one is talking about Louis Rossman :(
Pop sound probably came from the speakers
You made me fall in love with Flux (yes flux) your best friend ! it will always be their so apply it generous ! their can NEVER be enough Flux ! pop pop ..pop ohhh no!! a capacitor popped ! help me NRF
🙏👏👏👏🙏
