A heads-up from me that a new book from the excellent Middleton Press will be published on 26 July 2021 entitled “Wennington to Morecambe and Heysham”. The price is £18.95 including p&p. I cannot recommend these books highly enough - they are well-researched and have lots of excellent photos. The book will complement this fine video series from our own Thomas “Mr Showbiz” Edwards - keep up the good work, Thomas!
Lovely to hear from you Alfred wondered where you had got to recently? I'll sure be adding that Book to the collection that will help me when doing Lancaster and Heysham Video Series.
@@ThomasEdward Hi, TE . I’ve been enjoying your videos (not missed one yet!) but have been giving you the chance to keep up with your repliesr to comments from your other subscribers. Looking forward to your future videos on the Lancaster and Heysham etc railways - your videos bring things to life and act are a wonderful record of the current state of things. I shall surely go through all your railway videos again and again when the new Middleton Press book comes out. It’s great to see your channel developing so well, Thomas - wonderful stuff!
@@dereham1 That's very kind of you because there has lots comments have been coming through and I have sit down and catch up with each and everyone of them. But at same time lovely to see your Ok Alfred and you been watching all the videos in the Background.
Good video this. I used the 156 regularly as my son lives in Morecambe and I live in Manchester so I always get the train from Lancaster to Morecambe. My son loves the trains as well he's mad on them
Another excellent, interesting and thoroughly professional video. Thank you very much. Fascinating. I hope they get a clock on Bare station. Doesn't seem right. I'm looking forward to the lost railways of Heysham and trams of Lancaster. Well done!
I'm really pleased I've made theses videos about Lost Railways of Morecambe because audience seem to love them and I love creating them with all history and looking what's hidden on our doorstep. I think I might be going to Heysham next before we get into maze of Lancaster's history. But in mean time I've got some interesting Steam history coming up soon!
Glad you enjoyed it! Really enjoyed making this one I'll be doing some more Morecambe videos soon! Have you watch my other Morecambe Station videos imagine.
I pride myself on knowing my Morecambe, but Poulton Lane is new to me. Your comments about how rural the area around Morecambe used to be are interesting. I once found an aerial photo of the West End taken in 1917 about at the end of Alexandra Road. There was no Morecambe beyond Balmoral Road. Apart from a few terraces on what are now Windsor Road, Scott Road, Lake Road and Regent Park Avenue, that was the edge of town. Like a fool I didn't save the image or bookmark it and I've never been able to find it again.
Love doing MORECAMBE history videos Glad you looking back though the channel it tells nice little story of how Thomas Edward started with an eye for showbiz and adventure.
Maybe so in future! But for now the character of Morecambe is perfect lovely people everywhere shop's are still good northern prices. White Lune industry estate is god send for me! So many car places and people who can make anything.
Another cracking report Thomas.....weve spent a few times on this platform during our local walks....so thanks for stirring a few memories ...Keep up the great work ....regards Frank & Lee......Lancashire Walks....
Hello Thomas Just found this video while trawling the net looking for info about signalling around the Lancaster and Morecambe lines around the 50 and 60's I have been creating a simulation of the steam lines around the Lancaster area for several years now and the signalling is the last item I need to finish and publish. Though it might interest you. I have lived in Morecambe for 83 years and remember the old days when it was really alive.
Yeah! That's right can't beat bit old school it's like unjointed rail is still about if you look like around Kents Bank outside of grange over sands because so many places is welded rail now.
Excellent video. I think Poultin Lane station might have been removed when York Siding was put in, on the South side of the line from York bridge towards Bare Lane. There's a couple of nice photos from the 50s and 60s of Morecambe, Heysham and Bare Lane in one of my books. I think it's still available. By the way, I'd forgotten, did you cover White Lund station?

I think the west end was an entirely separate entity from Poulton. Built to a plan over just a few years
Good interesting video ,very knowledgeable TE slowly catching up with your earlier videos ,Neil

Just built a 00 1/76 scale Exhibition model railway of Bare Lane Station. First public appearance, at Carnforth Heritage Centre 21st-22nd August 2021.
Oh that will be fascinating to see! I've been summoned to go to that day at Carnforth by my older brother. So I'll see you there hopefully 😉
Look forward to meeting you Thomas. Like you’re channel.
