Loved your review. Your correct, each week is different. Our excursion wasn’t until 1 pm and it was magnificent. Lots of floating ice burgs and majestic beauty. But like you said, each week is different. We meet someone who was on a back to back and he said the prior week was miserable. Rain, wind and extremely cold. We were fortunate. Thanks for the review. We are going the first week of September, this year, on the Carnival Lumosa too. Am wondering how close you actually get to the glacier on this tour. If by chance we do see bear or mountain goat I would actually like to be able to see them and not just spots. If you know what I mean. Will have a travel zoom lens, up to 200 and of course binoculars. Thank you for your review.
We just did it in June on the Luminosa and we had tons of icebergs and it was seal pupping season so there were baby seals all over the ice it was awesome! It was super foggy coming in and it was sunny and beautiful for us once we got to the glacier. So we lucked out.
I am prone to motion sickness on tender boats and small boats that are rocky. How was the ride. It seems smooth. We are sailing on Luminosa in June 2024 and the excursion price is $250. I don’t want to spend that if I’m going to get sick I appreciate your reply.
The small boat does not go very fast, and it seems very smoothed. I would recommend staying outside, so you get more of a breeze and enjoy the beautiful views. Being inside may seem rocky because you’re confined in a small area. don’t forget to bring layers of clothes because certain times of the year it may start out cold and then warm up.
