here that car came as Chevrolet Chevy Coupe, It was a real sucess, if you come to Argentina you will see many of those rolling around(mostly are 250 chevrolet)
@@alexkollos8810 230 and 292 has the same bore? Is there maybe 30 or so pounds difference between the blocks themselves. Is this the reason you would go that route, instead of using the 292 to start with. the 230 has a much lighter crank, so between a 230 and a 250, the 230 likes to rev with 3 and 1/4 stroke.
MysticMusicYT oh ok thanks! Im currently working on my 250, planning on putting the offy intake with and edelbrock 600cfm. Also new headers and exhaust, the engine itself is rebuilt so i think it should handle fine.
Yea thanks! I was gonna drop a v8 but after some research I found that these little I6 are indestructible so I decided to build it up, and its also the original engine for the car so yea MysticMusicYT
The way it's built up, probably around 250 HP. The 250 I6 you have will be great for modifying. The 4 barrel and headers and HEI will be good for another 20-30 hp. A cam and higher compression pistons with bigger valves and lump ports would make a huge difference. A 250 done right can make 320 hp for the street. MysticMusicVideos obviously doesn't know a lot about these because he stated the 230 has 200 HP stock which is more than a stock 292 I6. Also he stated Cams, pistons, and injectors.....none of these ever came with fuel injection and to do that would require either extensive head mods or a mod to the clifford intakes. Plus if he new the head design he'd know why fuel injection is pretty much an expensive waist of time. An injection system will only do two things over a properly tuned 4 barrel....give you a little more horse power and somewhat better fuel economy if you can keep your foot out of it. A Much cheaper mod would be converting a holley 4 barrel to a 3 barrel by plugging one of the primaries off. A well known inline 6 enthusiast did this and he is getting 20+ mpg with his 250 in his 5000 pound station wagon! If ever you are interested in building up the 250 check out the videos of my 292 build. Give you an idea of what I've done for something you can go by if you want.
The 270 torque at every rpm more than compensates for the 200 horse it makes. Makes about as much as my 350 with Tbi heads carb and minor cam upgrade lol
Ok someone asked how do u stroke a 230 ? Well lets start with the basic 194 CI. Then u strone the 194 and you have 230. Now u cast a new block with a bigger bore and you have a 250. Soooooooo a 250 is a stroked and bored 194. The 230 and the 250 share the same stroke. If u use a 292 crank in a 230 the block will be to short. So I AGREE WITH THE OTHER COMMENT. JUST EXACTLY HOW DO U STROKE A 230 ?? not pissible ??
Yeah!!!!! A Chevy I can appreciate, WITHOUT AN ENGINE WITH LS!!! Great build, great vlog, thanks for sharing!
Sounds better than a v8
That’s pretty cool buddy!
Nice work on the inline 6! Great looking and sounding car. Keep it up!

Hey just curious but what did you use or where did u find exhaust headers for 1970 230? i been going crazy trying to figure out my options?
Summit and Jegs both carry headers for the GM inline 6's.
The low torque of this engine is evident
lol
The engine moans and the power is low
just v8
l6 = Throwing away money
It sounds like a v8

Damn hatters build your own shit ass holes.
Sounds good. The 4200 votec is the modern version of this engine and should be offered in the new camero, with a turbo maybe?...
P.s. the 4200 can be had from a wrecked trailblazer.
