The deal wasn't Miyagi Do shutting down. The deal was that Daniel and Johnny can't teach anymore. So if Chozen takes over as the sensei for Miyagi Do, Daniel isn't welshing on the bet.
@@BarryAirdrieFromDaUK I think Miyagi-Do and Eagle Fang have more or less officially merged, given that they announced Sam as being from "Miyagi-Fang" in the finals of the tournament, plus Johnny is going off to Mexico to find Miguel, so his students will still need a sensei while he's away.
I think Tory will stay loyal to Cobra Kai. Sliver might win her over by financing her mom's treatment. However he might make a mistake that might lead to her ultimately defecting from Cobra Kai.
I totally agree. Tory is going to go with who butters her bread first which is Terry Silver. And I feel that Robby will defect from Cobra Kai and reunite with Johnny and join Eagle fang. Which cause a rift with Tory and Terry.
@@deafsquid6978 I doubt that. They already offed Tommy. And Tory's mom is a background character. If they're gonna kill her then they might give her some screentime.
Hawk does in fact have a good clean win. The reason for Robby's distraction/mistake is irrelevant. Taking advantage of mistakes your opponents make isn't cheating, it isn't dishonorable and it isn't questionable. It's exactly how you win and saying it's questionable because Robby let himself be distracted would be like saying Daniel's win is questionable because Johnny ran face first into the crane kick.
No that's different Robby would have won the point if he wasn't distracted by Kenny....because Kenny was turning full on cobra kai and Robby didn't want that for him.
@@boemoboadia138 what distracted him is irrelevant. If Tom Brady has sun in his eyes and throws an interception resulting in a loss you don't blame the sun because Tom threw the interception and say the opposing teams win is questionable. Robby should of stayed focused but he didn't, and he lost, that is his own mistake and it takes nothing away from Hawk's win.
it doesn't take anything away from hawk winning I am just saying if he wasn't distracted he would have won the all valley and it raises questions such as if Robby wasn't distracted he would have beat hawk .
Hawk is an extremely capable fighter in his own right and frankly has earned his martial arts prowess on account of lacking the talent seen in other characters and experiencing failure more often as well. While it is true that things may have gone differently if Robby wasn't distracted by Kenny, that is in no way Hawk's fault and completely within the accepted rules of the tournament. In a sporting contest being distracted is every bit your fault as a missed blow or poorly timed counter. And lets not forget that the ref was scoring in favor of Silver the entire time. (some people think it was just Tory's fight, but Devon's bout with Tory proves otherwise). If anything tainted the fight it would be the corrupt ref. I fully understand the frustration of Robby fans, he is certainly more talented than Hawk and given his rage and Cobra Kai discipline, likely had more drive to win. However, I adamantly refute any claims that Hawk's victory was not earned. Aside from the corrupt ref, this was a clean fight in which both combatants gave their best and earned each other's respect.
I think what the producer's want is for Cobra Kai to not be Karate Kid. I mean all 3 movies were good, but if you look at them, they're all a bit cliché, with just good vs bad and good wins. There is some depth in the story, but if you removed details it's quite simple, and the only time that the amazing Daniel did something wrong, Mr Miyagi took him back and Daniel got a redemption. Cobra Kai is the opposite, where first season and everything is flipped, with the guy who had so clearly been the villain, the standard, only evil bully, become a good person. And at the end you have Miguel slowly turning bad. The whole idea is good and bad are hard to differentiate, and if they gave one of those simple, straight forward wins, it would be a bit disappointing to fans, and would be out of what they normally do.
If Cobra Kai wanted to be like Karate Kid, then it would be like every other forgettable tvshow/movie which comes off as somebody trying to "rehash the past".
a little over complex.. i'd say to keep it simple the show is about how the real world is shades of grey where the orginal movies were cut black and white.
Yeah, I love the idea of Chozen renting Miyagi Do for a symbolic sum, calling it Satokan or something and just take in all the MiyagiDo and EagleFang students, including Daniel and Johnny. Bending the agreement in a way totally worthy against Terry Silver.
Robbie was the best at dealing with second place. He has learned that some things in life are more important than a 1st place trophy. Furthermore, he gives a respectful salute to Hawk after tying with him and going into Sudden Death. This is a true champion's behaviour! In a sense, Robbie won that fight; he won against his fears; he overcame himself. I love how Robbie is evolving as a character and look forward to season 5!
@@yasumedia9528 dishonorable goes without saying. I wonder if that can be what gets Cobra Kai banned once more. It wasn't just unethical and sportsmanlike this time. Terry Silver tarnished the whole All Valley experience this time.
Miguel's win was probably the worst in retrospect, as he exploited Robby's preexisting injury to get the final point. Tory fought fairly in her own mind, unaware of her sensei's backdoor shenanigans. She gave it her all and didn't fight dirty. Eli/Hawk may have had the luck of the draw, but that doesn't take anything away from his victory and status as the best. He demolished Kyler, and he would have been more war torn if he battled Miguel in a complete fight, but that's not what happened, because Miguel forfeited. We could say that Robbie had it easier in facing Demetri and Kenny back to back, because they weren't as skilled yet. If Eli/Hawk had beaten Miguel to advance, Robbie would have been less spent in that case. At the end of the day, Robbie was most people's prediction to win, but Eli/Hawk overcame the odds. He had nothing to do with Robbie being distracted, and experiencing a crisis of conscience. Focus makes for a better fighter, and Eli/Hawk was on that day.
Silver's a business man, he fights physically and with his money. He should believe in his fighters but he has too much on the line to loose under any circumstances. Daniel's pride almost got the better of him as he scolded Sam telling her that she won but she didn't win the right way. Robby had it all right when he said no one style matters as long as you win. This is true in a fight the objective is to defend yourself and like Chozen told Daniel self defense comes in many forms. Good defense is a good offense just look at Donnie Yin in IP Man. IP Man has a counter block that allows him to attach all while blocking at the same time, which is basically what Sam has figured out as she fought Piper. Sam's fight scenes were good. Also is it just me or does Terry Silver have some of the most beautiful round houses since John Claude Van Damn himself?
I can see the writers are cooking a redemption arc for Tory that would lead to her making peace with Sam (developing a mutual respect relationship at least) and maybe defecting to Miyagi-Do.
There is a difference between luck and cheating! There is nothing wrong with Hawk's win. Just because his opponents wavered does not lessen the legitimacy of his win!
Calling that win questionable means that we have to go over every sporting event in history, watching videos where available, and if any member of the losing team had an understandable distraction during the event, then the victory is questionable and they all need a rematch without distractions to determine the winner.
One thing I don't get is why Terry taught Daniel so much in Part 3. He could have just showed him lame moves that would never work but he actually made him stronger.
Plus if he taught Daniel bad techniques, Daniel would catch it sooner and would catch their crap. Plus he didn't teach him that much. He just made him bleed. Oh, and he had to sell the, he wants to help him, persona.
I don't know if I'm the only one who noticed it, but even before Tory witnessed what Terry Silver did and said to the referee, she didn't seem 100% happy. If anyone recalls her face, she felt less glad than her Cobra Kai fellows, as if she thought insider herself something was wrong. Beyond all this stuff, I think Terry Silver made a big mistake when he betrayed Kreese and he will have a big backlash. Kreese will want a revenge against his old buddy and there will be an epic fight between Kreese and Silver, it seems inevitable.
@@WatchParty1 Somehow it's has a little value of Karma. In S3 Kreese betray Johnny and take over his dojo. Now in S4 Kreese reap what he sows, now it's Silver who now betray him and take over Cobra Kai from Kreese.
@@hajidle , I’m pretty certain that if Terry was able to convince Daniel to bail Kreese out of prison next season, and Chozen helping Miyagi Do win next season then Kreese would kick Terry’s ass, and he’d win a fight against Terry next season.
This show is about grey areas. A simple Good Vs Bad plot is very outdated, and this is why the tournaments don't have the same feeling as the original Karate Kid movies. It's not a bad thing! And it doesn't mean that these kids don't each deserve their wins. The story is just different that's all! This has nothing to do with poor/disadvantaged kids not getting a win. If that's the message you got from this show, I think you need to rewatch it. Also, Silver bribed the ref because he didn't have faith that Kreese was on the same game plan. In Silver's point of view, Kreese was too distracted by his rivalry with Daniel and by his "love" for Johnny... Kreese wasn't focused on the students. So Silver had to "make sure this time, we win".
The problem I have is we have Silver the bad guy bribing officials makes you doubt every sporting event ever then to boot they show us it we could imagine it happen but nope they wanted you to know REFs are crooked then we have the good guys Daniel and Amanda showing terrible sportsmanship one talking to Robbie before his match getting into his head then Amanda going to Tory before fighting her own daughter both those moves would be considered a no no in sports its bad looking bad sportsmanship yet we don't see Kreese or Silver doing this to Sam or any other fighter. Its sends mix signals what is fair play really both sides were basically cheating just totally different levels to it. Its just like Daniel using the dirty move vs Johnny that was suppose to be only in life or death fight with foe who is trying to kill you yet Daniel used it on Johnny totally dirty play and exactly why his teacher never taught him that move!
@@dalelapointe9289 You make good points, but also, we can't forget that this a fabricated tournament for the sake of a TV show. Things like Silver bribing the ref and Tory seeing it, and Daniel and Amanda talking to the students are all added there for the sake of storytelling. It adds dramatic value - after all we're watching a TV show, not a real sporting event. As viewers we care much more about the character relationships than the tournament itself. That's just my take :) But yeah I'm sure that the bribery will be released to the public somehow and they'll be consequences to that, as there should be!
I agree Dale. I don't like that we have now introduced the idea of a corruptible All Valley Tournament to this universe. It's also true Amanda talking to Tory before her match was way out of line. Daniel was too. Part of the problem is I don't think the writers (Or a lot of fans for that matter) even realize that cause they don't have a champion mentality.
@@WatchParty1 Some have theorized that Silver bribed the ref in KK3 as well, given that Mike Barnes should have been disqualified for some of the stuff he did. It was just that Daniel managed to win anyway.
By this same logic, Daniel's wins are also tainted in the original Karate Kid films. He won against Johnny because the ref allowed an 'illegal' crane kick. And he won against Barnes because of Silver's dumb plan.
The clean final win of miguel beating robby in the school fight... miguel had it won he could have snapped robbys arm and finished the fight but he didnt and it cost him to nearly be paralyzed... even techinically it wasnt a clear win
@@astrangerintheuniverse5109 it was 2-2 but it should be 3-2 to sam but it didn’t count so that means sam would’ve have won, also if you payed attention tory elbowed sam to the face that should be point detection not a warning so yes sam could’ve won easily.
@@astrangerintheuniverse5109 after “out of bounds” point there was also when got another point then tory did the elbowed on sam and it should have been point detection so the result is 3-1 to sam.
@@astrangerintheuniverse5109 ok like i said if she did get that point out of bounds, then tory elbowed sam to the face 2-1 the result will be and the final will be for sam the winner is sam.
The problem with this is Daniel didn't argue that the referee cheated. They even called out that Sam's hit counted. Sam was crying and felt guilty that she lost. This would work better if they showed Daniel wasn't convinced that Tory got a fair win.
Eli had a clean win it’s not his fault Miguel chose not to return & Robby got thrown off by the Rookie . Hawk was focused he won he is the champion period he deserves it!!!
More than when Robby kicked the stuff out of Kenny, Tory's "win" totally explains Mr. Miyagi's motto: "If put passion before principle, even if win, you still lose" in a way nothing else in the series has. Kudos to the writers! BTW, I am NOT a Tory fan, but it broke my heart that her win was because of Silver cheating.
This is strange that both Robby and Torry (fighting for CobraKai) are in kindle like the same situation. Robby realised he already lost before the fight with Eli even started. A win was not the thing he needed in this situation. Tory later comes in the same position. At prom she talks with Robby about the fact she only wants ONE win too profe that she is the best in Something. And now she realizes that even with this win she looses.
Even if the referee wasnt bribed Tory would have still won because she scored the 3 points first. So by Terry bribing the ref it was just throwing money down the drain because she would have won anyway.
I’d like to know how, because Tory didn’t “put passion before principle”. She chose to fight clean even when Silver was encouraging her to fight dirty. Unless you mean that Silver put passion before principle, but he has always done that.
@@BarryAirdrieFromDaUK uhm no, Sam should have gotten the point when the referee called on Tory for being out of bounds even though Sam hit her before she went out of the mat. The other instance was when she accidentally hit Sam's eye with her elbow, which should have been a point deduction which Johnny protested in the background. So Sam would have won 3-2, if the referee wasn't bribed by Silver. Even excluding the out of bounds scenario, would bring down Tory's score to 1, at that instance.
None of this would of happen only if Daniel left Johnny alone and let him do his thing. Daniel really started this whole Karate war. Miyagi would have told Daniel to let them be.
And it’s Daniel’s fault that the alliance lost because he alienated Johnny by saying he should take over teaching only miyagi do which was a strategy doomed to fail as Robby had been teaching all the miyagi secrets to cobra Kai
Even in the fight choreography there’s a point where Sam has a huge opening (could just extend her left hand and tag Tori and she’d just basically win, unblockable) but in the next shot it’s wide and you can see they changed their positions and now her left hand is way further off and couldn’t hit Tory anymore. It’s at the point in the fight where it goes slowmo and they both block one another in a high blow.
Robby, and Silver both will see what Daniel meant when he told Robby the old Miyagi saying :"never put passion before principles, because even if you win, you lose".
I had this idea that Tory and Sam might work together to get a rematch organised. Tory won’t tell Sam about Silver paying off the ref, she’d just say the out of bounds call was wrong and they should fight again because of ref’s “mistake”. It would bring them closer together, kind of like Johnny and Daniel during that test drive in season 1. But then Sam will find out for herself that Silver paid off the ref and that Tory knew, and she will go back to hating her.
@@xlinkkaisaintsrow2365 I have to agree with you on that, and I'd like to see Tory meet Daniel larusso and tells him and Sam about the bribe before the rematch.
yeah, if Sam (or anyone in Miyagi-Do) finds out that Silver bribed the ref then it will be a big deal! I think that Tory will talk with Stingray and the 2 of them will both get payback on Silver.. I'm just not sure how.
I think Tory is more likely to go to Amanda (and Daniel, by default) about Silver paying off the ref, as Amanda is pretty much the only adult besides Kreese she trusts.
idk about u but to me it was always clear robby was the better fighter its also not an excuse robbys distraction was more important than winning the tournament hence why he lost its like doing an exam the same day your parents divorced or something
@@kyubi_9405 It sucks but thats life, it doesn't matter if parents divorce on exam day or distractions comes up in a fight. Its all about what happens on the day and the best fighter doesn't always win sadley
You should do a video on how would Johnny feel if Kreese never choked him. At the end of the karate kid we see Johnny hand the trophy to Daniel, suggesting he’s not mad at Daniel anymore, but then Kreese nearly choked him to death, did that trigger his hate again for Daniel, thus where Cobra Kai comes in?
@@geracb I’m saying Johnny seemed fine when he lost but we know Kreese is very manipulative not only that but he was choking Johnny. He probably got mad about losing after that.
Great point! If Kreese had left him alone then Johnny might have stayed with Cobra Kai in some capacity. Or, he would have left on better terms. But, he would have been more confident and content with himself after high school. Kreese shattered his confidence much more than Daniel did. I think that the Cobra Kai writers showed us how drastically different Daniel and Johnny's lives turned out. Johnny saw himself as a bum who never could get out of his rut. When he sees Larusso auto kicking the competition then he becomes jealous and starts to blame Daniel for all of his own shortcomings. And, of course he also saw Samantha riding in the car that crashed his Firebird... just adding fuel to the fire!
I think the Daniel and Chozen scene will be at the episode 1 end,he will probably find out from Tory about Silver cheating, and then he will call Chozen to come in the valley
@Handsome Monarchist I thk cristyyoutube 21 is trying to say Chozen will be vital in continuing the Miyagi dojo bc Daniel & Johnny lost their their "deal". Cobra Kai won 🏆 overall albeit via crooked means. Also, cristyyoutube 21 thks Tory will let the cat out of the bag per say ..regarding Silver's ensuring a Cobra Kai victory w/ bribes. This act alone kept Cobra Kai in & resulted in Daniel & Johnny, themselves losing ownership of their own dojos. To add, I thk Kreese will be imprisoned with Shawn, ( Kenny's big bro), & poss. Dutch. They may even meet up w/ Miguel's father.. 🤔 in the penitentiary. Certainly, that wld be an interesting twist while Silver attempts to recruit Barnes & maybe even his buddies. Tori & the others will find out or witness a new, different & manipulative Silver emerge now that Kreese is away. Tori may find herself in a difficult position & I thk it will be Sam & the Larussos who help & comfort her. Tori has shown she is receptive to Sam & her Mom's empathy & altruism. It is then, she will share the truth abt Silver due to her conscience. My thoughts are not concrete but what I assume will occur.
@Handsome Monarchist The final scene of S4 with Chozen appearing was actually a preview of a scene for next season. So in S5 (maybe episode 1 or anytime early in S5) after Daniel finds out that Silver paid off the ref, he calls Chozen to help. Chozen agrees, then that final S4 scene gets shown more in depth when it actually happens in S5.
I can see it. Tory, now having witnessed it, maybe calls/talks to Amanda about it but can't fully come forward if Silver continues to finance her life. Amanda tells Daniel who then figures if he can't prove (he won't force Tory), he'll find a loophole in the agreement. "I can't run the dojo, but that doesn't mean someone else can't."
I wish they didn't went with the cocaine angle. I believe he had PTSD or split personality disorders and not taking his meds made him act nuts but he wasn't really diagnosed in the 80s. He just didn't look coked out of his mind.
It could still be that. Especially since it was implied he was on meds that he stopped taking, plus the PTSD flashbacks induced by Kreese. Cocaine just exacerbated his behavior in the 80s.
@@zj6864 I got that part, he did coke in the 80's. But the video says that Terry went back into doing coke in S4, and there is not clear evidence of this. He was drunk when he beat up Stingray but they don't show him snorting.
Philly in the house !!!! Love your content man keep up the great work I see Tory going to eagle fang karate with Johnny and learning some myiagi do too
I like the way you broke this down Silver's older and he doesn't wanna go down a downward spiral again so although he believes in the students it doesn't matter he gets an insurance plan.
I think Hawk's win is legitimate. The only "what if" there is that Miguel didn't finish the fight in the semis, but with him being hurt, I don't think its a stretch saying Hawk would have won. Miguel not finishing the fight also sets up his arc for season 5, so it needed to be done. I really think his story will inject some much needed change into the show. I don't think we will have a truly "feel good" win like in the original karate kid until the end of the series, because once we get that, the story, and the show, is over. They want us coming back still, so the writers will withhold it from us till the very end. Hopefully they don't try to stretch this show too long and make it bad so it gets cancelled before we get that "feel good" ending.
You missed some key points. The main reason for the bribe is to cause Tory to doubt herself and to develop her character more in season 5. Daniel isn't going back on his deal, he's found a loophole in the deal he's going to take advantage of; He and Johnny are not allowed to teach Karate anymore but it doesn't mean Chozen can't.
Hell I mean who’s to say Silver didn’t bribe the ref in KK3 with the things Barnes was able to get away with? I mean especially that sucker punch to the face
I personally think Miguel would've lost had he fought Hawk, Sam definitely would've been a distraction just like Kenny to Robby because she's on Hawk's team. Hawk would've still fought Robby, and with even more confidence after defeating Miguel. Hawk would've won either way, I believe that the ONLY thing that could've changed that, would be Robby not finding Kenny beating up Anthony, that's what made him realize that Kenny was going through a wrong path, and that's why he got distracted and didn't score the point against Hawk
This would be Tory's dilemma either she would tell Daniel, Amanda, Johnny, and Sam that Silver cheated since she is in Amanda's debt or stay in Cobra Kai and be with a cheater.
@PersonOnTheInternet That ruins her development in season 4. Can’t put passion before principle. Her staying with Silver ruins her development. This is about honesty and integrity, not living a lie. This would destroy Tory in the end to keep a secret and to be aligned with a man who betrayed Kreese.
11:06 People overall including me, Overlook this scene, where Johnny accepted defeat and Showed great sportsmanship handing the trophee to Daniel. While while in the show, we saw a different start where, Johnny beaten, stayed on the ground and kinda never let go.
Daniel LaRusso told Robbie what Miyagi told him never put passion over priciple because even if you win you lose. Daniel is putting his passion over the principal, the promise he made.
@@travisneill704 Not quite true. A psychopath is someone defined by the fact they don't typically feel the same emotions as the rest of us. Tory has shown she has those emotions she just bottles them up. Now Terry Silver.. yeahh that man is a total psychopath. The only time he ever showed emotion was when it was to his benefit (such as crying like a baby when he knew he had to fight his commander in that pit). And it is most likely he was only faking those emotions for sympathy. The rest of the time he shows a clear lack of common empathetic emotions. But I'd say Tory has definitely showed signs of true emotion she is just kind of like Kreese when it comes to expressing and showing those emotion. Hard life has lead her to hide such things as they are perceived (by her) to be detrimental to her well being. Which is exactly To a T why Kreese is this same way.
i think johnny needs to evolve his karate ngl, hopefully season 5 gets him some sort of improvement to his overall teachings, especially with miyagi-do getting chozin it'll be hard for eagle fang to even compete, and especially with terry improving on kreeses techniques
Miguel's story with the tournament was to show his descent into the dark side which Johnny pulls him from, but Miguel needed to win as it would do far more for his character than Robby winning would even though Robby absolutely deserved to win the tournament in season 1. Miguel throughout the rest of the show has gotten more than enough redemption for this and if he stayed and fought for himself he probably would have won in season 4 but Miguel didn't want to fight if he put passion before principle he wants to win and defend his title but he's not doing it for himself he's doing it so Johnny Johnny Daniel can keel teaching teaching keep on competing with each other Miguel's wants none of it so he doesn't fight. Hawk's win was deserved, you can say robby was distracted all day but I think that fight would have gone the same anyway Hawk deserved to win it's what his whole season 4 story was leading up to and even though Robby was distracted Hawk was ready for anything to block him or whatever just look at how quickly he kicks robby off Hawk was ready. And looking back at the fight it definitely seems that Sam would have won the fight had the ref been honest but it doesn't torture Tony's character if anything it shows her character good and I think in season 5 Tory will have nothing to do with it she doesn't want to win if it wasn't her winning. I can see a rematch of Tory v Sam happening in season 5. The show isn't downgrading the story or telling kids they can't be winners. But if you cheat to win you're not a winner ~the basic story of cobra kai. I'm very excited for season 5 and I just wanted to talk about my view on this.
Well for TKK3 Daniel’s win is kinda questionable he needed excessive time to overcome his fear from, the only reason he was able to was cause Mike Barnes was constantly getting and losing a point to keep the score even and throughout the course of the movie he was getting punked by Barnes even though he had a most impressive feat of defeating Chozen in TKK2 in a fight to the death its as if the start of TKK3 he forgot all he learned in that movie so if Silver and Kreese didn’t indulge in their sadism in TKK3 and Mike Barnes was no nonsense got in there and got the first 3 points Daniel would have lost his title but call it convenience its common for villains in common media via movies, video games, Anime, books to lose due to overconfidence, being sadistic, blinded by revenge or hate. TKK1 I think there is some iffiness because Kreese asked Bobby to cheat whom is easily top tier Cobra Kai member with Johnny and Daniel didn’t have to technically fight Bobby because he was disqualified and he is shown to be very skilled Daniel would’ve need a lot of endurance to gauntlet through a clean fight with Bobby and Johnny to be an All Valley Champion but to his credit he did recover enough from that cheap shot injury Bobby did and went on to overcome Johnny also cheating so it kinda balances out the “what if” scenario I bought up but TKK3 was real questionable if Mike Barnes wasn’t procrastinating the fight for Silver and Kreese’s sadistic amusement and went in there Daniel could’ve lost his title since in the end it took Mr Miyagi’s motivating words and a lot of time to pull himself out of his intimidating fear of Mike Barnes. In spite of the questionable, tainted victories in CK All Valley I like the end results this show after all is called “Cobra Kai” if they lost in S4 they’d have to shut down making things conclude sooner but they won so the Legacy and series must go on it is sad that Tory didn’t get a clean victory of the superior fighter but it doesn’t phase me much I think Eli/Hawk was good because it wasn’t the typical built up end game we thought which shattered expectations everyone thought Robby and Miguel would get their rematch and Robby would win so the show does well in not being totally predictable in that regard and Eli’s win prevented CK from getting a flawless winning streak. I also think Miguel beating Robby in the first All Valley was suppose to be a callback and a “what if” Johnny beat Daniel in the 84 All Valley in TKK1 there is lots of parallels drawn so even though they aren’t clean victories or are lucky the importance of those victories are necessary to CK progression as a series imo.
If Sam gets the out of bound points then things would go different. It was not an automatic win for Sam. The elbow was an accidental and not necessarily a point deduction. Johnny got a warning for destroying daniels knee with his elbow in part 1 which was intentional.
I definetly dont agree with the Hawk's victory being "questionable" just because he didn't fought Miguel doesn't mean it invalidates his victory, if he was capable enough to beat Robby he is capable enough to beat Miguel, tbh I think even if they fought Hawk would win since Miguel also was pretty unfocused and not believing on what he was fighting for.
@@OtaCato And just because he won one time doesn't mean he will beat everytime, and that's exactly my point, Hawk is extremely capable of winning from Miguel as much as he was capable from Robby
If that's not enough I would advise you to go watch Whyte vs Povetkin and Whyte vs Povetkin II to see a good example that winning one fight doesn't mean you can win it everytime
Terry had a far more “for sure” win in KK3. It would have been a 3-0 match if Terry had told Mike to win it 3-0. Losing with the ids that much in his favor had to mess with him for years. It’s surprising at all that he wouldn’t chance it with two fighters that are evenly matched.
Instead of a SEMI contact tournament where the 1st person to score 3 points is the winner they should make it a FULL contact tournament just like a Kyokushin style tournament. Where they can punch each other HUNDREDS of times during the fight. Only a FULL CONTACT Kyokushin fight detrmines the true winner and true better fighter.
Hawk was lucky that Robbie was careless. But even if Silver bribed the referee. Tory's last point was legal and well fought. I really liked that Tory won. It was time for that to happen. 🏆👍
Terry's not using cocaine again. That would make him too 2 dimensional and predictable. Terry's just drunk because he has issues with his captain and best friend playing off his loyalty to their friendship. Terry has issues like most people who've fault in wars and saw the things that happened.
they would have 2-2 and gone into sudden death like Robby and Hawk. I think Tory would have won, she had bested Sam at every encounter up to that point.
alot of mixed feelings this finale left me with I don't know where tori's character is going to go after learning her win was rigged of course without her knowing season next will either make or break her character for me i've so far enjoyed her
- I think Tory will go to Sam's House and tell Sam what Silver did in the tournament, at first, she doesn't believe her and starts yelling her about everything she put her through then kicked her out of her house and tells her to stay away from her and her family. - After that, she started to think as she sees Tory walking away, prompting her to follow her to the Cobra Kai dojo where she's confronting Silver and he attacked her, and they fought. Silver admit what he did, saying that he was trying to help her and that he knew Sam would win and also revealed that he betrayed Kreese, saying that he was his weakness. - Cobra Kai students (except Robby, cause he's helping Johnny) comes in and attacked Tory, revealing that Silver had manipulated them, thinking that Tory had "turned against them" and they fought. As they were about to give her the final blow, Sam swoop in and saved her. Enraged of what she just heard, she fought the Cobra Kai students, using both Miyagi-Do and Eagle Fang karate. - Silver then goes after Sam, only for him to kicked to the ground by Daniel (who came along with Chozen). They fought while Sam gets Tory out of the Dojo. Silver easily beats Daniel and take on Chozen. - Sam quickly comes back to see Chozen uses the offense of Miyagi-Do to defeat Silver and he was about to finish him, he 'honked' his nose instead. Sam, Daniel and Chozen leave the dojo. - They took Tory home. - The next morning, Tory wakes up and finds Sam talking to her brother. Sam ordered breakfast and Tory ordered Brandon to eat in the other room and Sam told her that she spent the night and looked after her and her brother and they have heart-to-heart conversation during breakfast.
Wow! Brilliant video. I did not realize but yes, no win was clean and hence no story of triumph for any of the winners. Tory deserved to win clean. I felt awful for her and wish she didn't go back in to grab her bag. Miguel's win was the closest thing because he was the one most of us were rooting for in season one. And his new attitude during that tournament was badass. But Tory needed a clean win over Sam and I wish the writers gave it to her.
In other words EVERYONE loses...except for Terry Silver lol. Also, how do we even know Silver will honor the deal on his end? By making sure Daniel or Johnny doesnt train anymore? Yes, Cobra Kai won but he has nothing to do with this deal. He wasnt even there when it was made. Does he even care about it? He never brought it up...And im sure if Daniel found out Kreese is out of the picture, which i suspect he will, then he can just assume the deal is off and that it never happened. Its also a dumb deal tbh. If you really think your way is the best way, why care what others do then? You wont. You won! What the other side does is irrelevant. Your way is the best, and no other way can beat it, right? Its the only way, right? So why should you even care what they do? This whole deal just shows that Kreese actually lacks confidence in his way and fears Miyagi Do might actually be the better way (not that im saying it is I think a mix of both is better). I would say the same about Daniel and Johnny but they actually just wanted Kreese out because hes a nuisance and is making everyones lives a living hell and is dangerous to ppl in general. I do hope though that Kreese finds out that the ref was payed off. That might actually crush him more than it did Tory.
@@supremedrew1500 Look at the fight again. Eli took advantage of Robby´s GI. The moment Robby was on his back he had both arms across his upper body. He then just uses his left arm to position it better for a strike. He would have blocked any attack. There wouldn´t be a point for Eli. The bell didn´t save Robby or Eli. It was used to show that both were very good fighters (i would say pretty equal).
Sam had an even bigger advantage than Tory, since Amanda told Tory not to hurt Sam, so Tory held back, and the ref only made one mistake with their fight.
Amanda didn't tell her to not hurt Sam she told her to not Dighton dirty and the ref did 2 mistakes in the battle. 1 he didn't count Sam's point when Tory stepped out of the arena after she got hit. 2 he didn't lowered a point to tory when she did an illegal hit on Sam like should to do. If the ref wasn't rigged Sam's would have won and if Amanda didn't talked to tory Sam's would won too.
A lot of the wins and losses are debatable. Miguel vs Robby at the tournament and the school were debatable, Sam vs Tory as well, usually when main characters fight someone is at an advantage until something happens, like distractions, playing dirty, and a rigged match. Sam would’ve won if it wasn’t rigged, Miguel could’ve won if he didn’t show Mercy, Robby could’ve won if he wasn’t distracted and wasn’t injured in the first season. But even if they lost they won in a way. It’s debatable and it’s up to the people who watch the show on who won.
Anyone who feels Tory is going to feel loyal to Silver after all of this did not watch season 4, especially her last scene. She’s not going to stay in CK. She’s going to deflect towards the end of season 5. Her keeping a horrible secret really ruins her season 4 development. Tory is going to be redeemed. Season 4 changed everything. This feud with Sam will soon end.
I can that Tory's victory was hollowed when she saw Terry having bribed the ref. I felt bad for her. She didn't win fair and square, but it was no fault of her own. What do think her next move will be?
@@Revkor Yes, I think you're on to something. Maybe Tory and Stingray will plot something for Silver? maybe Tory will confide in Robby? Or, maybe Tory takes this info (The bribe, and/or the Stingray assault) to Daniel?
5:40 Daniel isn't acting any differently than he has been up to this point and no one paying attention should be surprised. Daniel is absolutely convinced he has the moral correct position no matter what any break from it is swept aside in his mind because of his opponents supposedly being worse and his shallow understanding of the non-aggressive approach he teaches. There was never a doubt in my mind he would have reneged on the bet if he lost while looking down on Kreese the whole season assuming he would do the same.
Fully agree, Daniel is the same arrogant prick from S1. The writers sure swung in his way on S4, with the plot device of having Hawk turn Miyagi-Do. Hope S5 corrects towards Johnny again.
I have a theory about how chosen helps daniel I was thinking that since he trains people in the military it is very likely he may have a helictoper and we could see a scene related to that but my theory is that since he has many dojos he will pretend to do a collaboration with terry we know terry and sato are probably connected somehow since they have the golden symbol on their 80's gi's so Terry might trust him and chosen might try to find something to destroy him
Many wins in the sports are questionable if you see the winner as best of them all. Because to win in the fight, you also need some luck. To truly answer the question: "who is the best", you would need many more matches.

Sam might have won if the ref wasn't bribed. I remember the part where she kicked Tory and it knocked her out of bounds, but the ref claimed that she was already out of bounds before Sam kicked her. There was also the elbow to the eye, but iirc I think that was Tory's first (and only) illegal move, so I guess a mere warning would be understandable. I could be wrong on that though
Am I the only one. Who thinks season 1 had a different look to it. Compared to other seasons, it had like a dark gritty look to it. And I love it and wish it would come back.
I think you're wrong. I like that the series is portraying the concept of winning and losing and villains and heroes as more complex. It's probably more reflective of real life?
I agree. The way Tory won pretty much means that Sam has plot armor at this point. It's established that Tory cannot be her fair and square even though she's beaten the crap out of her, Sam has always landed the deciding blow in the end and now, the only time Sam "lost" was in a corrupted match.
technically there was never a official match with these two it was always made seem in a draw because they none of the two was out cold it was always put on hold because of the situations and now this fight is rigged again !

@@boemoboadia138 Eli could've blocked the punch, as both of his arms were free for defense. It wasn't a guaranteed point for Robby.

@@boemoboadia138 what distracted him is irrelevant. it doesn't take anything away from hawk winning I am just saying if he wasn't distracted he would have won the all valley and it raises questions such as if Robby wasn't distracted he would have beat hawk .
Aside from the corrupt ref, this was a clean fight in which both combatants gave their best and earned each other's respect.
i agree, but the scene was made to show that robby is the better martial artist, however, the one with the most conflict witin himself

Well put
Agreed! That is the reason I love the series so much!
I mean I’m pretty sure karate kid started the cliche or at least made it popular
Daniel’s deal was he and Johnny will stop teaching Karate. He never said anything about Chozen
Yeah, I love the idea of Chozen renting Miyagi Do for a symbolic sum, calling it Satokan or something and just take in all the MiyagiDo and EagleFang students, including Daniel and Johnny.
Bending the agreement in a way totally worthy against Terry Silver.
yes. also, it was with kreese, not with kreese and silver
not to mention, johnny is probably going to try and find miguel with or without daniel instead.
true, and btw, the deal also said "kreese can't teach if he loses" never said anything about silver
Daniel has to learn of Terry Silver's bribery. Also, the transaction would easily be tracable.
I love when Terry said, "Now we're the old men," and Kreese gives him a "Speak for yourself" look. haha.
"We do not honor bet with coward" has to be said in S5.

@@labpro72505 I think so. At the very least I'd say its dishonorable.
@@yasumedia9528 dishonorable goes without saying. I wonder if that can be what gets Cobra Kai banned once more. It wasn't just unethical and sportsmanlike this time. Terry Silver tarnished the whole All Valley experience this time.
@@labpro72505 I'd say you're on to something there. Maybe that's how they end the series. Hope it gets even more seasons though.
The actor who plays Silver is a black belt in both karate and Tae Kwon Do in real life.
Jean Claude Van Damme, yeah Silver does throw a nice roundhouse
@@matthewpatrick7263 Agreed!

One thing I don't get is why Terry taught Daniel so much in Part 3. He could have just showed him lame moves that would never work but he actually made him stronger.
He wanted to make his knuckles bleed and get in his head. It's not entirely logical. It was about revenge.
Plus if he taught Daniel bad techniques, Daniel would catch it sooner and would catch their crap. Plus he didn't teach him that much. He just made him bleed. Oh, and he had to sell the, he wants to help him, persona.
The fact that noone is the hero or the villain in cobra kai is what makes it so good
I don't know if I'm the only one who noticed it, but even before Tory witnessed what Terry Silver did and said to the referee, she didn't seem 100% happy.

It adds dramatic value - after all we're watching a TV show, not a real sporting event. As viewers we care much more about the character relationships than the tournament itself. That's just my take :)
But yeah I'm sure that the bribery will be released to the public somehow and they'll be consequences to that, as there should be!
I agree Dale. I don't like that we have now introduced the idea of a corruptible All Valley Tournament to this universe. It's also true Amanda talking to Tory before her match was way out of line.

@@mig50cc where did you hear this? Never knew it was a scene from S5 before now
I can see it.
Is there a scene of him taking coke? I have seen S4 twice and disagree with this take.
@@ClassicalMMAChef watch episode one again. Terry says himself he was so hopped up on cocaine he was terrorizing a teenager
@@zj6864 I got that part, he did coke in the 80's. But the video says that Terry went back into doing coke in S4, and there is not clear evidence of this. He was drunk when he beat up Stingray but they don't show him snorting.
Philly in the house !!!! Love your content man keep up the great work I see Tory going to eagle fang karate with Johnny and learning some myiagi do too
This perspective is awesome.

I like the way you broke this down Silver's older and he doesn't wanna go down a downward spiral again so although he believes in the students it doesn't matter he gets an insurance plan.
Don’t forget about how hawk had Robby on the ground ready to get a point before the sudden death round started
There was a timer and it ran out. That one is fair
@@Timothy_-ve2zp , Yh but since the match was rigged the timer could have rung a few seconds early

Yea and if Robby won you could say the same questionable win cuz neither of them cheated
@@alanchamberlain9902 Yeah I agree, or it can be some kinda tie between her and Samantha or they team up.
Terry Silver didn't want history to be repeated again
Hell I mean who’s to say Silver didn’t bribe the ref in KK3 with the things Barnes was able to get away with? I mean especially that sucker punch to the face
Probably because back then he was so sure Daniel was gonna lose. He didn’t wanna get overconfident this time round.
@@samueli7759 after all the shit the ref allowed to happen in the Barnes fight there’s no way he wasn’t bribed
We won't get into the 80's Karate Kid moment because this is Cobra Kai moment, it is another story with another meaning.
Are you talking about KK part I? Johnny did indeed give Daniel the trophy. He just needed a few moments to collect himself. It seemed natural.
Remember when Kreese talks about handshake deals? There are no garuntees.
I don’t think they ever even shook on it
Daniel LaRusso told Robbie what Miyagi told him never put passion over priciple because even if you win you lose. Daniel is putting his passion over the principal, the promise he made.
For sure.
Between those two i'm still on team Tory, Sam just can't help being annoying.
well Sam grew up a spoiled brat, plain and simple, Tory on the other hand has had to deal with adult life well before coming an adult.
well, let's not avoid the fact that Tory is still a psycho. She may be on a different path but she is still a psycho...just saying.
Mr Miyagi is right to be okay to lose but don't lose to fear. It's okay for Daniel and Johnny to lose but they both don't lose to fear.
But Miguel has beat Hawk and Robby before
@@OtaCato Dude, first, yeah he beat both of them, Hawk when he was bloodlust and Robby sometimes, he also lost to Robby
Hawk earned his win I’m a little bummed that Robby lost because I believed that he was going to win :(

Do you want to fight him I loved it when Robby said that
I believe Robby is going to regret this because Silver is not the person you wanne talk with in such way
@@darklondon4425 that could be why he is going to Mexico with Johnny. Silver could have a hit against him.
Instead of a SEMI contact tournament
where the 1st person to score 3 points is the winner
they should make it a FULL contact tournament

Bro wake up, he bought the referee back in 3 as well. The referee just wasn't able to fudge the last point by Larusso.

alot of mixed feelings this finale left me with I don't know where tori's character is going to go after learning her win was rigged of course without her knowing season next will either make or break her character for me i've so far enjoyed her
Choszen will teach the Secret of Miyagi do to all the miyagi kids
Tori shouldn't be crushed BECAUSE she scored the final blow clean!!!!!
I still wonder why the camera focused on Tory so much and her look when silver first shows up in front of the cobra kai crew
Ref got his palms greased crazy lol..
It would be fun to see more flashbacks of Kreese running Cobra Kai just when it was opened.

Sam is the only one with a clean all Valley win
Sam had an even bigger advantage than Tory, since Amanda told Tory not to hurt Sam, so Tory held back, and the ref only made one mistake with their fight.
That is a true point about Amanda that often isn't brought up.

This feud with Sam will soon end.
she will stay to undermine him and restore Kreese
I can that Tory's victory was hollowed when she saw Terry having bribed the ref. I felt bad for her. She didn't win fair and square, but it was no fault of her own.
What do think her next move will be?
@@Revkor Yes, I think you're on to something. Maybe Tory and Stingray will plot something for Silver? maybe Tory will confide in Robby? Or, maybe Tory takes this info (The bribe, and/or the Stingray assault) to Daniel?
Myiagi did not like tournament fighting. Making a team was a mistake all and all.
I think it's much much simpler. If Cobra Kai had a clean decisive win, it would be the end of the story.
Even if your sure your opponent wouldn't honor his word you should still honor your own. A man is only as good has his word.
I have a theory about how chosen helps daniel
I was thinking that since he trains people in the military it is very likely he may have a helictoper and we could see a scene related to that but my theory is that since he has many dojos he will pretend to do a collaboration with terry we know terry and sato are probably connected somehow since they have the golden symbol on their 80's gi's so Terry might trust him and chosen might try to find something to destroy him
I can’t believe you made a video about this lol
Hawks win wasn't questionable, Roby's problem is not Hawk's. Sometimes in life being the best is not enough.

I agree. The way Tory won pretty much means that Sam has plot armor at this point. It's established that Tory cannot be her fair and square even though she's beaten the crap out of her, Sam has always landed the deciding blow in the end and now, the only time Sam "lost" was in a corrupted match.
