I love how wholesome this story is but im an ag student and my brain is annoying af and im fairly sure that all cows in this video are holstein friesians.
    Anyway fun cow facts:
-The holstein is the classic dairy cow so if you're drinking milk it is more likely than not from a holstein
-An easy way to tell the difference between beef and dairy cattle is hight tall is dairy and short is beef
-Cows are pregnant for roughly the same length of time as humans
-Like cats and dogs most cattle have a favourite place to be scratched and knowing that place can be very important for people leading the stock around for shows as if the cow is stressed you can give it a quick discreet scratch
-Dexters are very short and a teency bit rotund to say the least
-Atleast on the farms ive helped out on you could tell the difference in the cattle that had grown up on the site since birth and the ones purchased due to the pitch of voice cause similar to cats and dogs they use their vocal cords more (because it gets attention from humans) and thus they have deeper voices
-Different cows have completely different levels of vocalisations and there is usually one that always starts all the others
-They can eat grass cause they are ruminants similar to sheep and goats (meaning they have a four chambered stomach, commonly just said as four stomachs)
Rabbits and horses can eat grass cause they are hind gut fermenters (they have an enlarged long intestine but only one stomach)
Anyway thank for listening to my rambling i, have been unable to work with stock due to school holidays and am going insane
Also cattle will eventually learn that yiu are not threatening and just refuse to move, no matter what you do, and just sit or stand there like big ol beefcakes
Also also my favourite words to call stock when im handling them are numpty, numbnut and lovies if you have any suggestions feel free to tell me
Also also also I THINK IVE PROBABLY SPENT LIKE 20 MINUTES TYPING THIS
