I just wanted to tell you guys THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THIS VIDEO, I crashed my yuneec Q500 into a tree by a lake and fortunately only one motor end up in the lake. I purchased a new ESC and motor and only needed to replace the ESC, I was very upset that I might not be able to get it back in the air and thanks to this video im flying again.
Bo, I want to thank you and Ryan for making this video. I've watched it about 5 times straight through. One time prior to 10 days ago when I somehow caused my Q to do a backflip into the pool. Blew out the left front and rear motor and ESCs. This video made it so easy. I'm feeling very accomplished being able to pull my Q out of the grave. Thanks again! Cheers!
Bo, what a terrific video you did at Yuneec! Very well done! It's pretty neat to see the guys at the company being so welcoming to you and your camera. I'd love to see more videos at Yuneec including any tips or tricks. Thank you!!!! Loved it.
Thank you Mark, I'm really impressed with the corporate culture at Yuneec, high and low ranks were discussing particular customers problems by name, There is a feeling of unpretentiousness and hardworking guys who don't mind a quick FPV break. I was surprised that none of the higher ranks who said hello, instantly made Ryan wear a branded shirt etc. Ryan said they understand the cost of service and will rather have customers flying safe quads than half baked fixes.
Yay!!!! I love it! Again what's a product without support. It's been two month of flying my q500 and I'm still as excited as the day I got it. This is the reason why! Thanks Bo. Awesome video and thanks to Ryan and the Yuneec staff. I'll be headed over there next week to pick up my hand held and buy another battery. .. GREAT JOB!
YES!!! Tech Support is # 1 , very very good tech support , informative staff and quick returned calls..And a Great quad on top of all that!!. Cant go wrong with these guys @ Yuneec !!!
As always, Bo, a great video and priceless PR for the Yuneec guys as it demonstrates that essential customer and support relationship which is noticeably conspicuous by its absence with another manufacturer, whom shall remain nameless. Regards Nidge
Thanks Nidge, Yeah I think they basically have created a new niche in the market, quads with customer service, I like that they talk about wanting to be able to certify a reliable product to customer and being able to maintain a specific level of performance. as little as I like RTH, I was very impressed that he use it to get back and land on each test they do.. it obviously is working.
Ok have a Q500 coming soon what happens if the quad gets out of range of transmitter? does it return to home like my bugs 2c? i thank you for your videos i have watched a few
i d really like to fly the ST 16 transmitter with fpv racing drones .... i m searching my ass off here for a compatible receiver to the st 16 but idk ... is there anything to come in the future ? or how about buying a Q500 drone reciever and use this with standard FPV racing drone ESC ... would this work ?
The ST16 is basically a SPECTRUM radio, I would not be surprised it would work with a spectrum radio, but have not tried. that said, racing FPV drones, you probably should go with a more compact radio and goggles?
to late for that , haha .... maybe i try a spectrum receiver , thank you .... i go with seperate goggle/camera wear anyways , its just sad for the beautiful st 16 transmitter ... already thought also of buying a flysky fs i6 and stuffing its electronics into the st-16 housing ...
+1 to that Rick, I had ordered the parts I needed and drove by to pick them up, I was thinking to make a "how to" video.. it blew me away when Ryan said "come on back and I will fix that up for you"
Thank you RC dad, yeah Im really impressed with Yuneec's effort on customer support.. I think thats really the first large company to take this serious in the multirotor category.
Hi Bo, another good video. Can you tell me what you have done to the camera i.e there are wires sticking out and there looks to be a coin stuck to the back?
A Brit in the Philippines Chris Wren wow Chris, suddenly your question showed up on my messages, maybe I managed to miss it for this long. I used a coin to improve the balance of the gimbal, along with a bit of double side tape. the antenna is sticking out for longer range.
+Mitch Anderson thats the antenna coming out, I pulled it out to make it work better for distance. chances are the motor is OK, check the ESC's but I would give Yuneec a call no matter what before stating to change parts.
This company really impresses me. I will keep an eye on their future products. I really looked hard at the Q500 but the fact they only recommended to fly in winds less than 12mph is a deal breaker for me in my area unfortunately. If I lived anywhere else besides this wind tunnel I would gladly buy this product.
MrLivesteamer for what its worth. very few quads flies "well" in high wind. BTW. totally agree, the Yuneec crew is above and beyond kinda guys. and they have a couple very cool new products on the way.
Bo Lorentzen Can't wait to see what they will come out with next. I agree wind is the Achilles heel of any flying machine this small but some handle it better than others. I sent you a PM in RCgroups. You have an advantage over any of us on these machine since you get the joy of flying so many.
Ryan, I just received 4 ESC which came out of a Q500 that had no flight time "assumed?" However on the part number listed on 3 of the it gives 1 with 20151021 V05, which I take is for the front, but it came with 3 with the same number in your video for the rear 2010918 V04. The question at hand is, will this become a problem or should I get the correct part?
Yuneec is the best company in drone industry . Customer service and tec surpport is the best ..I'm thinking of buying a second q500 when 4k comes out because this company is so customer friendly..the best....
oNe6868 +1 to that. their commitment to taking care of the customers is better than anyone else in the multirotor industry. nobody else ship anything with a 6 month warranty. Call DJI or Walkera if your quad stop flying after 30 days.. and they will tell you to send it in for repair at your cost.
I Do not think so - i was left with poor nothing when my motor got damaged. Shit support in UK. Avoid buying Yuneec in UK - they wash hands from warranty (my drone had at the time 10 months)
Thanks for posting this video. Just ordered my Yuneec Phantom 4K.and looking forward to breaking my ESC's now...hahaha.... [I mean, looking forward to flying it!!!]
+William Yip the Yuneec is really reliable, I busted my original one and Ryan fixed it up for me (ESCs) however still have the original props on the 4K edition.
Thanks Bo for the important video about this sophisticated product. I have seen Ryan before explaining on how to update the firmware. But looking at the video makes me realize how replacing a simple ESC can become a complicated task for any amateur geek or even for an experienced electronics hobbyist. For repair, even a minor one, I will ship my Typhoon to CA for Ryan and a trained technician to fix it. However, how can I ship a big suitcase, by Greyhound or Amtrak to Ontario CA? Can I remove the landing gear and the CGO2+ gimbal camera from the main body? This way the body can be packed in a more manageable package for shipping?
+My Nguyen You can remove the legs. I would ship something like UPS ground. You can also check out Brad, he is one of the few certified Yuneec tech's outside of Yuneec. facebook.com/brad.keach?fref=ts
Nice to see Ryan, the guy who answered my initial post on facebook telling me to give him a call but then didn't reply to any of my follow up questions, I'm in England, phone calls to America cost a lot of money, Facebook is FREE! Also while I'm in moan mood, the "L" in solder is no more silent than the "L" in soldier, so it's not pronounced "SODDER" it's "sold-er" Apart from that, great video, as always MR APV guy.
What.? thats not silent L in soldier.? Not sure what happened or why he did not get back to you. I know they are swamped. but I have to say hanging with the crew yesterday have me convinced they take support very serious. and also their rules of engagement are surprisingly liberal, they want your quad to fly, and they want it to be safe. even if they have to change the props for you. (which they obviously don't)
As a non-American (Australian) it makes me chuckle to hear sodder, just as Americans say herb with a silent H as in 'erb'. Or have you ever noticed how many say second with a T as in secont? Well I must be off, I'll finish my erbal tea and sodder my secont ESC
George, thats the stock antenna, I pulled it out and pointed it to the ground.. that give me better video at a distance.. but bad video straight up over my head. :-)
I think he was wearing the FatSharks, I was recording on my FatShark Dominators. Hmmmm. you are right, he have a different brand of goggles, I will have to ask.
Very informative, I will be sure to refer to this vid, when the ESC is an available part in the UK. Until then, my Q500 is doing a great job as a paperweight! Thank you Yuneec
WOW> Jonathan, thats horrible. and you are bringing up a really strange point.. Yuneec California / USA, have been very aggressive with customer service, yet most other countries have done a pretty un-impressive job at the same, Im kinda thinking the Yuneec we have here is not a corporate choice but rather a fluke of getting a couple of right people in the right places in the USA branch. this is really a crying shame, as I would say Yuneec could own the quad business by blowing away everybody else's service quality.. unfortunately they only seem to be "great" in the US.. how strange.
Just had an update from Yuneec UK Bo. They say the ESC could be available within the next 2wks! However, my phantom 3 should have arrived in that time. I do have to say, I do like the Typhoon, but this has really put me off Yuneec.
Totally understand where you are coming from. Bit of inside info, I was told the ESC's was a world wide problem, seems the vendor kinda let them down on supplies, the day I was with Ryan he had maybe 10 in stock in the office. Its possible this really was out of their control.. not sure but.
I apologize for my bad English and then I hope to be able to clearly state my problem . After an accident , I replaced the frame of my typhoon Q500 . The operation seemed successful and the Quad is distributed smoothly . I ran some flights and updated the firmware to version 1.05 first , and then to 1.07. I put the drone for a few days and when I wanted to start it did not succeed . From the GUI I can not conclude the id of the ESC also trying again several times . could you help please? thanks
Hey Pasquale, thats a bit out of my range here, however you should contact the local Yuneec support crew as they are able to walk you through this. alternatively PM Brad on Facebook, he is one of the few certified Yuneec techs working for himself. facebook.com/brad.keach?fref=ts
I have spoken to Ryan on a number of occasions and he's enough of a reason to buy the Q500 over the Phantom. Even if the product wasn't already unbeatable. The tech and service department at Yuneec in Ontario is first rate.
Hi, Great vid. Just dusted my q500 down after a couple years. Connecting to ST10 ok and started motors fine but on second attempt one motor has constant white led and beeps an error message. Checking on GUI tells me 1234 motor ESC failure. Can't believe all ECS's have failed. Any suggestions much appreciated. Clive
nice video. i didn't burnt out the controller chip or card. i just had a stuck propeller. when i finally got it out, i messed up the threads on the motor part. now i can't screw a prop back on it. Do i have to do all this to replace my motor. if i'm right, the threaded shaft does come with the motor. What's the best way and fastest way to get this repaired? should this be on warranty? it wasn't a crash.
i contacted my dealer ACES and he already said that it wouldn't be on warranty. he said that i just didn't tighten it right so it's not on warranty. :o(
My personal take on this is simple, there probably were a bad tread on that motor to start with, how else did the prop get that stuck, and I can't envision the aluminum treads in the prop stripping the motor shaft.. Personally I think they should swap the motor for you. Aces are not world-renown for taking great care of customers, I would call YUNEEC on the 800 number and chat with them, even if its not on warranty, you still need it fixed, and I would go directly to them, or shoot a PM to Brad Mendrick on Facebook as he is one of the very few Yuneec Certified techs outside of Yuneec. but I would start with Yuneec corporate.
Hey bo, just put some decals on my q500. Still have not flown it yet still waiting for prop balancer. I pulled the mushroom antenna out the bottom of camera. I got a vid up of it. I'm sending it to ryan when the aeronautical lights come in he's gonna install for me. Ill post when all done. Kind of doing step by step of it. I'm gonna ask ryan to vid the install. Ill be talking to him again tomorrow.
Hey Bo I ran into a snag. I went to update my q500 and it said corrupt update. Now my bird will Not respond to the app and it will not update. It also does Not fly and connect to the transmitter. Any ideas or suggestions have you heard of this. Happy late fourth by the way
Hey Chief, ouch thats no good, basically its a bad update, the other things are just results. I have not experienced a bad-update, and think you should give Ryan a call. :-)
Bo Lorentzen Ryna tlaked me through it you tune the dron off at the beginning but right when you start the update you turn the drone on and it forces the update!!!!!
Congrats on the new quad Mike, I fly my q500 a lot, love that thing, its so predictable and easy flying... living next door to Ryan's shop is about as good as it gets. :-)
Is it possible to get a battery that will allow the Q500 to last longer in flight rather that just 15 to 20 minutes max? Also is there an upcoming method that will enable the Q500 to carry an extended battery and when the first battery looses power to allow the second battery to connect in mid air and continue the power flight? Just asking????
venzuello mcmillan The weight of the extra battery would dramatically reduce the flight time of the first battery. if you need longer than 20 minute flight time, the Q500 is not the right choice.
Great video Bo. I'm so glad to see Ryan and his team are so helpful. Unfortunately that help has not made it to the East Coast :-(. Do you have any insight as to software updates that would include the programming of way-points??
Matthew, you can call Ryan directly from the phone number on the Yuneec website. simply ask for Ryan / tech-support.. they do cover the East coast. :-) There are no word on a way-point capable firmware upgrade at this time, but its said to be something that is actively being worked on.
Thanks for the rapid response. I've called Yuneec about customer service and where I can see and touch a Q500 on the East Coast (really around Newark, NJ). Only 1 out of 5 hobby shops knew what the Q500 was, let alone had one to look at!! Yuneec referred me to Horizon Hobby who referred me to another store that "might" have it - and didn't! I'm sure all good things come to those who wait - and I'm waiting!!!!
Oh thats bummer, I did not realize the q500 was not readily available in hobby stores. check out Frank at CarolinaDronz.com he is generally really helpful and probably would consider letting you check out one and return it if its just really not what you had in mind. :-)
Will the Q500 be able to switch out the CGO2 to the CGO3? I'd like to try to have audio installed on the Q500 rather that purchasing another Q500 k....?
Hello, have really enjoyed your video's. Like others, yours have really helped to seal the deal for me. I've been playing around with a beater quad copter, as has been recommended by so many experts. Have been enjoying it tremendously, and I'm now anticipating a very near future purchase of the Q500. I am curious, I saw Ryan doing the FPV flying, was he wearing FPV glasses for that? I thought for sure that wasn't an option.
Never mind, paid closer attention to all the posts. Seems that was a DYI, haven't seen anyone explain how to set one up yet...see the all in one kits though.
Just Joe LOL sorry, we should have mentioned that a bit more.. we were having fun flying my blade nano FPV around the building. BTW.. you can easily put FPV gear on your "Beater Quad" that will be a fine future for the beater. ruclips.net/video/_WZ9I2waqxc/видео.html
i have a yuneec q500 4k. the #2 motor (newly replaced) stutters and struggles, but very slowly turns. passes the ecs gui test, could it still be the esc? thank you!
Never mind. I just crashed my Typhoon G and now awaiting another body shell. I'm also debating on buying another. I did some mods to it such as relocated 2.4 antenna and moved the compass from the noise location and it went bazzurk! I also tried to relocate the 5.8 antenna to external in the CGO3 4K CAM and now it doesn't locate thr SD card. All I can say is, "Some vacation." Any suggestions?
Popping off the lid on the CG03 camera should not be a problem, I have the 5.8ghz antenna hanging down, its a easy fix and won't affect the camera. Yeah its not a good idea to relocate the compass, the system knows where its supposed to be ;-)
can you do a video on gimbal repair. the 3 wire that come from gimbal to the brass connector snapped off and would like to see where they connect. The gimbal works fine on bird but can not use on hand held due to wires being torn loose. any help would be great,
You know if the model PLUS (Q500 Yuneec) you must always do the "voodoo ritual" to calibration GPS? .... Or as someone says in PLUS is always automatic ?!! Thanks by Carlo from Italy
So thats the " Infamous Ryan from Yuneec " hehe.. really nice of him to invite you down to fix the ESC for ya Bo.. if you get time chew his ear about the new 4K cam.. we need info ! keep up the good work ;)
Norie M yup thats him and he is a pretty agreeable guy.Wellll.. IF you ask Ryan, Im pretty sure he would say Im doing much more than chewing his ear... Im been twisting his arm to get hold of one of the first q500 4K kits for a unbox and review.. naturally with a camera comparison as a important part of that.
You are not supposed to be knocking nails, Im pretty sure they sell "nail-guns" these days. But I am going to mention this to Ryan, also take a look at his tech-talk videos here ruclips.net/p/PLoiBGU4vhc-fJ70bLGP32CVBK0GTcS8MO
I think in this video I just pulled the antenna out of the camera ball. you can get to it by popping off the plastic shield on front of the ball, after pulling the antenna out out the shield back. be gentle with the antenna as it need to maintain its shape and not be broken ;-)
Funny (and informative) vid. Soldering that way without a third hand must of drove you freakin crazy. Oh, the joys of trying to film up close work! :-)
Without a doubt. When I'm soldering, I have to have absolute quiet and concentrate. Therefore, I can only do solder work when the kids and wife are not home!
Hi guy i have a question for you . i just changed my esc and rotor . and i want setup with the cable like you video but i dont find the logiciel on internet for setup the next part . can you help me ?
Well Bo I would have started doing the same thing you said you would do IKA crack open the whole unit. I would have been more than disappointed when I found out that the whole operation only needed 4 screws undone. Some more videos of this type for the Q500 would be great. Still disappointed that there does not seem to any FPV goggles available which are compatible. Still is an awesome unit. Regards, David.
Hey David, glad Im not the only guy who would have cracked the entire thing open. About the FPV. get a immersionRC 600mw and a 700tvl flight-camera from readymadeRC, stick the camera under the arm so it don't block the gimbal cam. and fly away with FatSharks. :-) There will be more video's Ryan is a cool guy and we will definitely be visiting again in the future.
Bo Lorentzen Have ordered the camera through readymadeRC and I used you name as a referral. I already have 600mw tx and fat shark goggles. Looking forward to receiving the camera and giving it a try. I have done some investigating with hard wiring my fat shark goggles to my Devo F12E. I will let you know how it goes.
Hey bo,sorry about bothering you with the same question about the q500. As I had mentioned in other post someone said the q500 is already outdated. You just plus oned it, so I was wanting get your opinion on the matter. I respect your opinion as a professional. And if it's outdated in what way, again sorry to ask the same question twice.
michael Dorn Sorry, think maybe I accidentally forgot saving the post.Basically in light of the P3, the q500 standard got a good deal more dated this week. so did everything else as well. basically the camera on the original q500 is at best marginal for pro video, most consumer video users will never notice the difference. Personally I'm recommending pushing Yuneec for a 4K upgrade path, (they have indicated interest in offering a upgrade deal)
Bo Lorentzen well the q500 is still new. The phantom was once too. With yuneec saying there upgradable they can always improve. I like the reliability of the q500 compared to the phantom when it first came out.yet to hear of fly aways or any other real problems either. & like I said there upgradable & with ryan & there customer service I tend to belive it. Yuneec has proven to be good thus far.so time will tell.
My Q5004k crashed about 1ft up and hit the top right motor (Nr 4). Since then it’s not starting up and shows initialization failure, also ST10 shows Motor Error - 5 Motor Failure - Land. Lastly on my GUI it shows ESC 4 is red and wont re assign. I have already done as follows: 1) Re installed the Q500 Firmware 2) Opened up the motor and It shows no sign of burn out, checked further with multi meter and it does not show any irregularities. 3) Pressing Calibrate on ST10 or GUI does not seem to work as it just doesn’t do anything 4) When I try to reassign ESC motors, Nr 3 responds if I turn motor 4 > don’t know why! Need help, thank you.
I like to know how is the Q500 able to travel long distances if the battery can only last 20 minutes? I want to purchase the flytrex but I don't understand how can I remain in flight beyond 2000 ft and have enough electrical power to return home????
venzuello mcmillan the weight of the extra battery would dramatically reduce the flight time of the first battery. if you need longer than 20 minute flight time, the Q500 is not the right choice. You can not exceed the flight time with a Yuneec Q500.
good night excuse me I would like to bother you I have my yunnek q500 and disconnect the card from the camera and label it with a marker with lines and now that I have the card and I want to replace it with a new one my marks were erased and I would like to know if there would be any diagram of how to connect each one of the connectors so as not to damage the card, thanking them for their collaboration
I've done soldering for many years including certified on Mil Spec's standards. To attempt to remove the wires I would use a copper solder wick to completely remove all that built up solder. One of the tricks I use is to coat a portion of the solder wick first with paste flux. That way the melted solder would de drawn easily and absorb into the copper wick and out of the circuit board. I seldom use a de-soldering tool that uses vacuum to draw out the solder.
Bo Lorentzen No problem. Glad to help to those who don't have much soldering experience. Also always clean the soldering tip off your soldering tool before you solder or de-solder a component. Add some paste flux on the joint that you are about to solder. Flux cleans out residues and helps make your solder flow easily on the solder joint and less time for you to hold a hot solder tip on a solder joint that could end up being damaged from too much heat. Clean out the flux on the component using denatured alcohol & Q-tips afterwards.
Shit I forgot about that. I was wondering why it was so hard using a sucker. Now I remembered that I used to use a copper wick back in college. Thanks.
Please help my esc seemed of burnt out do I need to change the motor also is there a way for me to check , I can see the esc is fried but don't know if motor is still good ..help
This is one thing I like very much about the Q-500 compared to the inspire1, You have the option to repair it yourself, or send it to Ryan & the Crew. I mentioned in a comment about dji having the inspire1 locked up and only they can repair the quad, I didn't agree with that at all, I mentioned also a bad firmware update could force people to send the locked quads back to dji and who would pay for postage. I notice dji had a firmware gone bad last week, and they asked people to down grade a version. This wasn't for the inspire1 thou but hey, maybe I am not that crazy after all. ;-) Regards RaBBiTT.
LOL... I NEVER said you were crazy.. (nope would never do that to your face) I did say there may be some logic to DJI's madness, but personally I also like stuff that I can fix and mess with.
Bo I am so sorry, You never called me crazy. Between my brain and this keyboard I become dyslexic :-) Your right, there is some logic in DJI's thinking,& I do like some of there quads. I just personally thought it was spooky I mention firmware a month ago and they had an issue recently.. Thanks for listening Bo.. Cheers my friend..
Good my name is David . I changed my Yuneec two q500 esc . when I turn the drone sounds coming from the esc or engines . 2 short and 3 long beep beep . the LED indicator flashes red ago . what is the problem? thanks a greeting
good morning David, the sound come from your ESC's probably the ones you changed, you need to call YUNEEC, hop to their website and call the number on the site. sounds like your ESC probably need calibrating, (which is odd) but they can talk you through the process. (I'm making the assumption you did use Yuneec ESC's)
+Bo Lorentzen good , because if I had an accident with my drone Yuneec had to cammbiar two esc. one front and one rear . by changing those two esc. to start the drone jumps with these beep ( two slow and three quick and parapadeo red). if it comes from the esc I should do about it? thanks greetings
Please see the previous reply :-) give yuneec a call on the phone number on their website. you probably need to calibrate the ESC's and you need to tell the Q500 what direction you want each motor to turn. this is a simple process requiring you to log in using the tool from yuneec. :-)
BTW. if you are OK with sending it to them, they have been offering to replace ESC's at no charge. *Its my impression Yuneec is really wanting you to like them
Bo Lorentzen I think that the shipping cost will be expensive to send the Q500 from Montreal, Canada to California.. Maybe buying a brand new esc is less expensive?... I will send an email to Yuneec. ;)
Nice quad. Im upgrading from my walkera soon. Where in California are they located? Im in san Jose ca, myself would be great to deal with & support local companies
Hey Michael, Yuneec is out in Ontario California. BTW thats also the place to get your eGO skateboard serviced, I love places where employees can be seen cruising the hallways on skateboards.. this is a place full of very california types, the receptionist, the marketing guys, the tech guys, they all know upside down on skateboards and all know how to fly a quad. :-)
Nice thanks for the quick reply. I'd feel better sending my quad for repairs within my state. Seems like a cool place. I want to work there. Think they need security ill hold up a will work for drone sign :)
Michael Dorn LOL "Will work for Drones" For real though, that big empty space were we were flying FPV, will soon have a bunch of work-benches for service guys..... hint hint.
Lol thanks bo, I might take a road trip. I just bought a blade nano qx non fpv for 40 bucks at hobby shop. Loved flying it thinking of buying the fpv with fat sharks @ other shop that has it. Will be my first pair of fpv goggles. Are those ok for beginners or shoul I get separate. Thanks again good day
The FatSharks are great. I would get the best pair you feel comfortable buying because they will stick with you for a long time and can be used with different aircrafts.
I really don't think the put enough focus on this in their marketing, nobody else in the multirotor industry have a regular real english speaking human picking up the phone to support the product.
I'm From Dubai , recently i buy a Yuneec typhoon q500 4k drone i didn't fly that drone even one time , its drone is problem , I have problem with Yuneec typhoon q500 4k cgo3 wifi problem , Its not binding the camera wifi not showing in controller and i attached steady grip cgo3 camera its not showing wifi in mobiel the camera showing white light only its no response light any color changes , controller working gimbel and drone , the camera only not showing video in controller please help me
Bo Lorentzen Awesome. Cant wait to see at least some footage. Last thing I want to do is move to the dark side lol ( DJI Inspire ) Is there any Info on the 4K camera you can give? :)
jjmucker cough cough.. it exist, looks business, and when I picked it up and checked it out, I got a bit of details, but was quickly told "Ehm you did not see that". so out of respect for Ryan and his crew, who so generously let me backstage in their toyshop... Im itching to release picts and info.. when Ryan give the go ahead. Suffice to say, it don't take a rocket scientist to realize that a less than 2K quad with a stabilized 4K camera is cheaper than a DJI inspire and will get a lot of film-makers interest really quickly. :-)
Bo Lorentzen oohhhh, nice. Would loved to have been in your shoes and at least got a glimpse of it lol. I'll be keeping an eye on your videos mate, In the hope you (or Yuneec ) release some info soon. This money is burning a hole in my pocket and I really want the Yuneec, but Im afraid their current camera is not up to scratch.
Is there a way to fly the drone in a NO FLY ZONE. I tried turning off the GPS and it still would not let me start the motors. The area I was attempting to fly was aprox. 4 miles from a military airbase. From what I could find this is almost the limit of the NO FLY ZONE.
Roger Dilts 4 miles is about 1 mile shy of the no-fly-zone limit. Basically its illegal to fly there without the blessing of the local flight-controller. If you have that blessing, then you probably need to take that up with Yuneec tech-support.
Bo Lorentzen Thanks for your response but you didn't answer the question. Is the aircraft capable of flying in a no fly zone? I work as a firefighter for a City and we are researching the use of drones and I want to know if this craft is capable. If it is not I won't waste my time researching it any further. We are going through all of the hoops to get FAA approval. I have sent messages to tech support and have had no response so far. Thank you.
Hey Roger, theoretically there are a couple options. however practically speaking you are disabling useful features like the GPS hold. the problem with this obviously is that these are made for consumers and not for agency use. Ive been talking with Walkera and Yuneec suggesting there should be agency order units that can fly exactly where you need them to. I played a bit with the Walkera 350premium which is a bit rough, but it might be a interesting candidate if professionally tuned for your requirements. BTW tested the thermal on the inspire and yuneec and walkera, flies perfect with additional weight. ruclips.net/video/UlACuAqiqI4/видео.html
Bo Lorentzen Thank you. That is good to hear. Not sure how much money the Chief wants to put into this project and I thought the cost of this drone would be a good start. I will continue to attempt to get a response from tech support. On a personal level had I know this before I purchased mine I would have maybe gone with another type that was not so restrictive. Thanks for your help.
Yeah Im with you on not being keen on the systems that lock out flight operations. but I suspect its a small taste of the future now that we are moving from this being cutting edge to becoming a mass-market kinda thing. For a fire-house kit, I would probably consider a SuperX based hexa with a zoom optical camera in a gimbal and just short legs. I like the superX because its barebones, give you full manual or GPS and a RTH option.. nothing else just stick it up there and let go. Im trying to avoid huge aircrafts lately. so I would probably build a mini octo or hexa with 5inch props. check out something like the STORM 8 mini aerial video rig. its setup for 3axis, but for your use, i would consider flying a yaw-damper 3axis gimbal in front of the battery to loose most of the landing-gear and keep things more compact.
Does anyone know it there is a time limit on video recording time. I've noticed I get to 5 mins and it stops recording. Is that a common thing? It's a Q-500 4K .
Thanks for the reply , I wonder why this camera is acting like this. I'm 64 and new to the drone world , I bought this Q-500 4K two years ago and finally after playing with and flying cheaper toy drones and watching all and reading all I could about the Q-500 , I finally grew a pair and started flying my Yuneec and recording videos and its been catching some videos and dropping some as well. Any suggestions would be appreciated . Thank you. Here is my last recording . ruclips.net/video/Fs4rB_MoVss/видео.html
Hello, how far can the Q500 fly away from the starting point and still send back a video sig. How far can the Q500 fly from the home poing and still return to home.
Gfdf Perte I have flown mine past 1500 feet (500meters) the q500 can fly as far as you like and still return home.. (as long as it don't run out of battery before it make it home.)
thanks so about 1/4 mile. That is not that far but seems ok. I was hoping for at least 5000 ft. Do you get about 18 min or so. I want to get into fpv but it looks like I have to get into Airplane use for fpv long flight. I hope you can help when I need to purchase items for fpv. Thanks CFI
Gfdf Perte I would say with a couple of tweaks you can easily fly the q500 about a mile. however it was not designed for FPV, the q500 is a slow flying camera platform, ideal for people getting into aerial video. :-) Yes I get about 18 minutes per battery, this is a very easy flying system. If you are looking at learning long-distance FPV, you are probably looking at a fixed-wing aircraft. :-)
I wanted to start with the Q-500 as it is slower then move up to the Airplanes and all the Equipment that is needed for longer flights. I am hopeing that the Q-500 will get me use to looking at the Screen when flying. CFI
Gfdf Perte The q500 is one of the very best starter quads, incredible easy to fly. I would probably stick a direct flight camera and a 5.8 video transmitter on it in addition to the screen system, so you can get used to flying goggles :-)
+Bo Lorentzen yeah wish they would I just dropped $1500 on a q500 4k for me and my 6 year old son and 3rd test flight in it clipped edge of a bush in my front yard at 6' and dropped via broken propeller. Soon as it hit the ground it broke the airframe in two. So bummed my heart stopped now either it sits in a box for months before I have time to do a complete overhaul with new airframe or I just pay someone (kind of spent enough already on this dang thing). yeah sucks wish I would have had more than a day in....
Hey Michael, OUCH. that sucks, however clearly nicking branches is part of the risk when flying airframes. I can't tell you how many times I have managed to do some really stupid crashes and hated it. I know Ryan used to do ESC's all the time. give them a call, the number is on top of the box insert. IF he can't do it, PM Brad, he is one of the very few certified Yuneec Tech's outside of Yuneec facebook.com/brad.keach
+Bo Lorentzen Thank you so much! I ordered an airframe from Yuneec going to fix it myself. Other than 50+ screws and some time shouldn't be too bad. Looks like I can keep the motors soldered on the esc's since the airframe splits apart. Could be wrong either way giving it a shot. Unless you feel my best bet is to send it back.
I think you should be fine, just be patient, and grab some saucers for screws etc so you know where they came from. I typically take a lot of shots with my phone while taking stuff apart whenever I run into something I figure I will need to remember ;-)
Shadow Hobbies Paterson NJ always has q500's in stock and we service what we sell! we are on vacation from 8/3 to 8/11 how many think Ryan needs a shave!
This is going to sound strange but if you shut the motors of in flight can you restart them if your high enough to do so? Lets say your 400 feet out of no where's a un seen aircraft appears so you shut down to drop out quickly can you restart ? This mite sound strange but I could do it with my 350 QX
Thanks FPV Guy & Ryan. I bought my Q500 a month ago and am lovin' it. It's reassuring to know you are both there to inform and help us.
AWESOME, glad it worked for you. the Q500 is a cool quad and wonderfully stable in flight.
Having a great customer support system will only create loyal buyers. Yuneec is definitely stepping in the right direction. Nicely done sir.
+1 to that. a company that takes are of the customers get a lot of credit.
Cheers!
Justin Yarborough wow. thank you. glad we could be part of rescuing the Q. !
I'll be headed over there next week to pick up my hand held and buy another battery. .. GREAT JOB!
Thank you Henry. one can never have too many batteries.. particularly for something flying this good.
YES!!! Tech Support is # 1 , very very good tech support , informative staff and quick returned calls..And a Great quad on top of all that!!. Cant go wrong with these guys @ Yuneec !!!
+Art Last Awesome feedback. thank you.
Thanks to you both for the valuable support and information, looking forward to purchase of a Q500 of my own.
You are welcome Bernard, thank you for following the videos :-)
Great vid and what a fantastic set of guys they have there.
As always, Bo, a great video and priceless PR for the Yuneec guys as it demonstrates that essential customer and support relationship which is noticeably conspicuous by its absence with another manufacturer, whom shall remain nameless.
Regards
Nidge
Thanks Nidge, Yeah I think they basically have created a new niche in the market, quads with customer service, I like that they talk about wanting to be able to certify a reliable product to customer and being able to maintain a specific level of performance. as little as I like RTH, I was very impressed that he use it to get back and land on each test they do.. it obviously is working.
Ok have a Q500 coming soon what happens if the quad gets out of range of transmitter? does it return to home like my bugs 2c? i thank you for your videos i have watched a few
Yes if it loose the control link, then it will automatically return to home.
i d really like to fly the ST 16 transmitter with fpv racing drones .... i m searching my ass off here for a compatible receiver to the st 16 but idk ... is there anything to come in the future ? or how about buying a Q500 drone reciever and use this with standard FPV racing drone ESC ... would this work ?
The ST16 is basically a SPECTRUM radio, I would not be surprised it would work with a spectrum radio, but have not tried.
that said, racing FPV drones, you probably should go with a more compact radio and goggles?
to late for that , haha .... maybe i try a spectrum receiver , thank you .... i go with seperate goggle/camera wear anyways , its just sad for the beautiful st 16 transmitter ... already thought also of buying a flysky fs i6 and stuffing its electronics into the st-16 housing ...
Thanks Bo, great to see some of the inner workings of the Q500 and the Yuneec offices.
i guess I'm kinda off topic but do anyone know a good place to stream new movies online?
@Dante Valentin I watch on flixzone. You can find it on google :)
@Armani John yup, I've been watching on flixzone for months myself :)
@Armani John thank you, I went there and it seems like they got a lot of movies there =) Appreciate it!
@Dante Valentin no problem :D
Well that tech support really does make my decision pretty easy. It doesn't hurt that the Q500 is the coolest looking video quad currently being sold.
+1 to that Rick, I had ordered the parts I needed and drove by to pick them up, I was thinking to make a "how to" video.. it blew me away when Ryan said "come on back and I will fix that up for you"
So great to see good customer support.
Great video!
Great video Bo!
It's so good to see customer support.
+Mitch Anderson thats the antenna coming out, I pulled it out to make it work better for distance.
chances are the motor is OK, check the ESC's but I would give Yuneec a call no matter what before stating to change parts.
Where the ant
Great video
Ryan is great he stayed on the phone with me while I did a.download and walked me through everything thanks
+1 to that, Ryan is one of a kind and a huge credit to Yuneec.!
Im not familiar with the parts.
however you can always flip the wires on the ESC to make the motor run the right way.
Lol, languages are so different internationally, English is my third language, so I'm happy just being able to navigate the streets most of the time.
The World needs more Ryans!
Totally true.
Hey..Bo what is the antenna in your Typhoons camera? Is it a fpv extender..if so how did you install it...thanks for your videos
George, thats the stock antenna, I pulled it out and pointed it to the ground.. that give me better video at a distance.. but bad video straight up over my head. :-)
Thanks Bo. I love my Typhoon so far. I just wish the fpv range would reach further.
George Snyder try flipping the cloverleaf antenna down so it points to the ground as the signal radiate from the edge of that circle the leaf's form
Bo, What kind of FPV goggles was Ryan wearing?
+1 to that Richard, the solid support from Yuneec is something completely new in the industry, and a worthwhile product in its own right.
Clive
my suggestion would be contact Yuneec suppor ;-)
nice video. i didn't burnt out the controller chip or card. i just had a stuck propeller. when i finally got it out, i messed up the threads on the motor part. now i can't screw a prop back on it. Do i have to do all this to replace my motor. if i'm right, the threaded shaft does come with the motor.
What's the best way and fastest way to get this repaired? should this be on warranty? it wasn't a crash.
+Bou Drone chances are if you contact Yuneec they will take care of the motor for you on warranty.
i contacted my dealer ACES and he already said that it wouldn't be on warranty. he said that i just didn't tighten it right so it's not on warranty. :o(
My personal take on this is simple, there probably were a bad tread on that motor to start with, how else did the prop get that stuck, and I can't envision the aluminum treads in the prop stripping the motor shaft..
Sweet, this is going to get cool. :-)
Bo, Does your camera have full range of movement with the antenna out like that?is the reception better?
Robert Biarbe Yes it does, and yes, this give me better range.
Info I was looking for when I contacted yuneec over 2 weeks ago..at least if I need more help I can contact you.thanks for your help.Pastor Robert.
Hey Bo I ran into a snag. I went to update my q500 and it said corrupt update. Now my bird will
Not respond to the app and it will not update. It also does
Not fly and connect to the transmitter.
Question for Yuneec dude:- Did you solve RTH altitude problem already; or drone will still crash in to the tall tree?
I just ordered one today good to know they are just a few miles away.
Congrats on the new quad Mike, I fly my q500 a lot, love that thing, its so predictable and easy flying... living next door to Ryan's shop is about as good as it gets. :-)
what is that in the bottom of your camera? And I just had the same thing happen to me how do you know if it is the motor or the ESC?
Is it possible to get a battery that will allow the Q500 to last longer in flight rather that just 15 to 20 minutes max? Also is there an upcoming method that will enable the Q500 to carry an extended battery and when the first battery looses power to allow the second battery to connect in mid air and continue the power flight? Just asking????
venzuello mcmillan The weight of the extra battery would dramatically reduce the flight time of the first battery. if you need longer than 20 minute flight time, the Q500 is not the right choice.
Glad you got your Q500 ESC fixed. Just exactly where is the support tech repair office located?
Ontario California
Great video Bo. I'm so glad to see Ryan and his team are so helpful. Unfortunately that help has not made it to the East Coast :-(. Do you have any insight as to software updates that would include the programming of way-points??
Matthew, you can call Ryan directly from the phone number on the Yuneec website. simply ask for Ryan / tech-support.. they do cover the East coast. :-)
There are no word on a way-point capable firmware upgrade at this time, but its said to be something that is actively being worked on.
Bo Lorentzen You are correct, Frank is a great guy. Thanks for the referral. Keep up the videos featuring the Q500. They are very informative.
Matthew Pravetz More q500 related videos on the way. :-)
Will the Q500 be able to switch out the CGO2 to the CGO3? I'd like to try to have audio installed on the Q500 rather that purchasing another Q500 k....?
venzuello mcmillan Yes the Q500 can fly either camera. you must have a ST10+ radio for the CG03 camera though.
What app do you download for connection with Samsung s5 phone for second monitor. Google play offers 5 I think not sure which one.
+Tennessee Trapper Im not sure, have not used that feature as it add more lag to the image.
i have a yuneec q500 4k. the #2 motor (newly replaced) stutters and struggles, but very slowly turns. passes the ecs gui test, could it still be the esc?
thank you!
stutters and struggles..?
gut feeling its a solder problem probably not getting enough current.
Yeah its not a good idea to relocate the compass, the system knows where its supposed to be ;-)
I'm curious; would you happen to know the amp rating for the Typhoon's ESCs?
unfortunately no.
can you do a video on gimbal repair. the 3 wire that come from gimbal to the brass connector snapped off and would like to see where they connect. The gimbal works fine on bird but can not use on hand held due to wires being torn loose. any help would be great,
facebook.com/groups/760693757354224. Shoot a message to Brad in this group, he knows this stuff
I just did a video when I repaired my gimbal. The three wires are not necessary. You can you use an exterior plug
Awesome, you should post a link to that video, thats very relevant to other users. :-)
Bo Lorentzen Thanks. I didnt want to hijack the thread.
You know if the model PLUS (Q500 Yuneec) you must always do the "voodoo ritual" to calibration GPS? .... Or as someone says in PLUS is always automatic ?!!
Thanks by Carlo from Italy
Karlo Osimo LOL nope thats not true. do the GPS dance ONCE for your q500 and the same for a q500+ or a 4K
Bo Lorentzen i will certainly keep an eye out for your review Bo.. cheers..
Thanks very much Bo. My problem was I was over ambitious in trying to fit a motor. It was beyond my capabilities lol
+alan scott Probably not, just need to brush up on a couple mechanical skills and you will be fine.
You are talking to someone who has problems knocking a nail in. Thanks for your remarks anyway.
You are not supposed to be knocking nails, Im pretty sure they sell "nail-guns" these days.
But I am going to mention this to Ryan, also take a look at his tech-talk videos here
ruclips.net/p/PLoiBGU4vhc-fJ70bLGP32CVBK0GTcS8MO
hello, I have a q500 4k, I been searching for my camara antenna mod like I seen on ur video cant seen to find it...where can I find one? thanks!
I think in this video I just pulled the antenna out of the camera ball. you can get to it by popping off the plastic shield on front of the ball, after pulling the antenna out out the shield back. be gentle with the antenna as it need to maintain its shape and not be broken ;-)
great video glad this all came together!!!!!
Thanks Chief, Yeah Im game to hang with Ryan any day of the week. (and bring a camera)
Funny (and informative) vid. Soldering that way without a third hand must of drove you freakin crazy. Oh, the joys of trying to film up close work! :-)
LOL.... Yeah Ryan was a great sport on this, but Im 100% sure he would have preferred his chair, third-hand and no camera ha ha.
Without a doubt. When I'm soldering, I have to have absolute quiet and concentrate. Therefore, I can only do solder work when the kids and wife are not home!
Appalling68 LOL that sounds like me.
Hi guy i have a question for you . i just changed my esc and rotor . and i want setup with the cable like you video but i dont find the logiciel on internet for setup the next part . can you help me ?
unfortunately its almost 10 years since we had one of these in house. maybe call Yuneec ?
Awesome Quad, Good Company.. Thank you Bo
Thank You Huy Vu :-)
There will be more video's Ryan is a cool guy and we will definitely be visiting again in the future.
Bo Lorentzen
Have ordered the camera through readymadeRC and I used you name as a referral. I already have 600mw tx and fat shark goggles. Looking forward to receiving the camera and giving it a try.
I have done some investigating with hard wiring my fat shark goggles to my Devo F12E. I will let you know how it goes.
TheDavidblade great, do post a follow up, lost of people want to FPV this thing.
Right on Thanks
Bo Lorentzen well the q500 is still new. The phantom was once too. With yuneec saying there upgradable they can always improve. I like the reliability of the q500 compared to the phantom when it first came out.yet to hear of fly aways or any other real problems either. & like I said there upgradable & with ryan & there customer service I tend to belive it. Yuneec has proven to be good thus far.so time will tell.
Absolutely agree with you Michael, I love how the q500 flies, its a very predictable and solid aircraft.
I have already done as follows:
1) Re installed the Q500 Firmware
2) Opened up the motor and It shows no sign of burn out, checked further with multi meter and it does not show any irregularities.
3) Pressing Calibrate on ST10 or GUI does not seem to work as it just doesn’t do anything
4) When I try to reassign ESC motors, Nr 3 responds if I turn motor 4 > don’t know why!
Need help, thank you.
You need to go to the Yuneec.com website and call the local support number..
I want to buy one of these now!
The bad thing is no gimbal for gopro yet :/ need to wait for that!
Yeah +1, the GoPro gimbal really is the ticket.
Well, that said, I'm pretty excited to see the 4K camera.
Bo Lorentzen Still no news pal?
jjmucker expecting the GoPro gimbal at NAB and also working 4K cameras, they are expected to ship in May.
Am I able to call to share my woz? I'm checking for warped motor axis now.
Definitely, give Yuneec a call, their number is on the website and also on the information package with your quad :-)
good night excuse me I would like to bother you I have my yunnek q500 and disconnect the card from the camera and label it with a marker with lines and now that I have the card and I want to replace it with a new one my marks were erased and I would like to know if there would be any diagram of how to connect each one of the connectors so as not to damage the card, thanking them for their collaboration
that sounds like a question for Yuneec support ?
I've done soldering for many years including certified on Mil Spec's standards. To attempt to remove the wires I would use a copper solder wick to completely remove all that built up solder. One of the tricks I use is to coat a portion of the solder wick first with paste flux. That way the melted solder would de drawn easily and absorb into the copper wick and out of the circuit board. I seldom use a de-soldering tool that uses vacuum to draw out the solder.
beerborn Thank you for posting.. Im sure lots of the new owners don't have solder experience.. posts like this is very helpful to everybody.!
Motor is still good. just change the ESC.
This wasn't for the inspire1 thou but hey, maybe I am not that crazy after all. ;-)
Regards RaBBiTT.
LOL... I NEVER said you were crazy.. (nope would never do that to your face)
I did say there may be some logic to DJI's madness, but personally I also like stuff that I can fix and mess with.
"Flies phenomenally"
*Actually flies like a small row boat in rough seas even in calm weather.*
Cool story bro.
LOL it was a great flyer two years ago. but by todays standards its a bit weak..
+Bo Lorentzen
good , because if I had an accident with my drone Yuneec had to cammbiar two esc. one front and one rear .
by changing those two esc. to start the drone jumps with these beep ( two slow and three quick and parapadeo red). if it comes from the esc I should do about it?
thanks greetings
Please see the previous reply :-)
give yuneec a call on the phone number on their website. you probably need to calibrate the ESC's and you need to tell the Q500 what direction you want each motor to turn. this is a simple process requiring you to log in using the tool from yuneec. :-)
Is there a place where we can buy new esc's? I need one for my Q500!!
Hey Mark. shoot a email or better yet call Ryan or one of the Tech guys directly. The email is uscs@yuneec.com and the phone number is 1 855 284 8888
Bo Lorentzen thank you very much Bo!!!
BTW. if you are OK with sending it to them, they have been offering to replace ESC's at no charge.
*Its my impression Yuneec is really wanting you to like them
Bo Lorentzen I think that the shipping cost will be expensive to send the Q500 from Montreal, Canada to California.. Maybe buying a brand new esc is less expensive?... I will send an email to Yuneec. ;)
LOL Oh year for sure.
Michael Dorn LOL "Will work for Drones"
For real though, that big empty space were we were flying FPV, will soon have a bunch of work-benches for service guys.....
I would get the best pair you feel comfortable buying because they will stick with you for a long time and can be used with different aircrafts.
im sold will buy one soon i think that awesome that they have tech and repair awesome awesome
These guys are really helpful, you can actually reach them on the phone and have them talk you through whatever issue you are dealing with :-)
So sweet, good buy Dji and hello Yuneec
I really don't think the put enough focus on this in their marketing, nobody else in the multirotor industry have a regular real english speaking human picking up the phone to support the product.
I'm From Dubai , recently i buy a Yuneec typhoon q500 4k drone
i didn't fly that drone even one time , its drone is problem ,
I have problem with Yuneec typhoon q500 4k cgo3 wifi problem , Its not binding
the camera wifi not showing in controller and i attached steady grip cgo3 camera its not showing wifi in mobiel
the camera showing white light only its no response light any color changes ,
controller working gimbel and drone , the camera only not showing video in controller
please help me
Great video. Thank you, Bo!
Thank you Luke.!
Thanks for the video, another great one
Thank you Gary,
Great Video too my friend..
I would love to see a video on replacing one of the motors..
We all need(want) more Info on the 4K camera :)
Great video BTW.
Promisse more on the 4K cam as soon as they have something close to "release quality". they are still tuning and playing with settings.
Bo Lorentzen Awesome. Cant wait to see at least some footage. Last thing I want to do is move to the dark side lol ( DJI Inspire )
Is there any Info on the 4K camera you can give? :)
jjmucker cough cough.. it exist, looks business, and when I picked it up and checked it out, I got a bit of details, but was quickly told "Ehm you did not see that". so out of respect for Ryan and his crew, who so generously let me backstage in their toyshop...
Bo Lorentzen Any new Info on the new 4K camera yet mate? :)
I'm sold!!
Love the Tech Support in California!
- Where in California? !?!
Jay Magallanes Out in Ontario, address on the Yuneec.com website ;-)
I bought a q500 but after i crashed the light is beeping red en the drone also makes a sound what can i do?
I would suggest calling Yuneec support ;-)
I KNOW IT HAS BEEN A YEAR SINCE THIS POST, BUT IS RYAN STILL AROUND?
Yes he is.. Ryan works in R&D for Yuneec and get to play with the toys we will be buying next year already now.
Ryan is the MAN!
Yeah he really have become the behind the scenes "face" of the q500 by being the guy we all refer to when talking Yuneec support.!
Still, I get an error on controller of it not reading SD card?
how many amps are the esc´s?
Does anyone know it there is a time limit on video recording time. I've noticed I get to 5 mins and it stops recording. Is that a common thing? It's a Q-500 4K .
Not that I know about, i have been recording longer segments than that.
Thank you.
Here is my last recording .
ruclips.net/video/Fs4rB_MoVss/видео.html
onde compra esse drone q500
anybody know what the blue lights on the ESC means? I don't remember them being there before it crashed.
Not sure - check with what remains of Yuneec support (unfortunately its not by any stretch what it used to be these days)
Hello, how far can the Q500 fly away from the starting point and still send back a video sig. How far can the Q500 fly from the home poing and still return to home.
Gfdf Perte I have flown mine past 1500 feet (500meters)
the q500 can fly as far as you like and still return home..
Yes I get about 18 minutes per battery, this is a very easy flying system.
Ryan my st10 screen is locked up. how can i fix this?
Call Yuneec support, the number is on the yuneec website ;-)
Video is very informative but unfortunately i cant locate the software to even do a motor assignment. Any ideas anyone? Thanks.
Hey Trevor - it's a 10year old product, thats probably the biggest problem.
I would call Yuneec, they are still selling drones, and they would know.
so he would fix this for free or doe you have to pay if you crash into a tree??
Chief, its my impression a busted ESC is on the list of stuff they fix for free. :-)
Hey Michael,
OUCH. that sucks, however clearly nicking branches is part of the risk when flying airframes.
?? what is the TF card slot for on the MK58 on the TYPHOON G
Firmware updates
i used the plug in the battery door for firmware updates???!!!!!!
LOL yes but you can't update the gimbal from the Q500.
is there a update for the gimbal for the tyhoon G , if there is can you put the page that i can down load it.
Not that Im aware of.
Shadow Hobbies Paterson NJ always has q500's in stock and we service what we sell! we are on vacation from 8/3 to 8/11 how many think Ryan needs a shave!
Everyone up here in the Pacific NORTHWEST has a beard
+Troy Smith (TecNeek) easy, put the firmware on the micro-SD card, root level, and put it in the camera, power up.
This is going to sound strange but if you shut the motors of in flight can you restart them if your high enough to do so? Lets say your 400 feet out of no where's a un seen aircraft appears so you shut down to drop out quickly can you restart ?
This mite sound strange but I could do it with my 350 QX
Eloy Garcia The motors start up softly.. you will be on the ground before you get them up to speed.
well if I know me I'll give it a try, and let you know how it turns out LOL!
Welllllll.... the q500 have a push-button start / stop operation.. while Im excited to know this pulls off...
Im not going to hold my breath. :-)
Thank you😊.... Cool videos
Do you have a way to contact Ryan (e-mail address)? I have some questions for him that I would like to ask.
Probably contact Yuneec support directly
@@Sailing360 Okay thanks.
How to fix a q500 4K reading 5 blade roto error and will not come on, Help.
Unfortunately you need to contact Yuneec
..with I could find a video explaining how to upgrade the CG03 firmware on a q500 4k.
Do you the address to that location?
Ghostwriter972 check the website at www.yuneec.com :-)
