The muffler has dual tips. That is not a dual exhaust. In line 4 cylinder cars do use dual exhaust systems. Dual exhaust is used on V engine configurations or opposed configurations like a Porsche.
Have a 2023 MX5 ND Homura (2.0L 184bhp). Its awesome. However...... There is a problem with the roof mechanism, which as you rightly say is so so easy to drop from the drivers seat, even when at a stop light. But as I have found out, dropping it from the drivers seat can cause the roof mechanism to misalign over time! Had my car from Dec 2023. 9 months later..... when I asked Mazda about it via my local dealer, I was advised that Mazda say you must get out of the car and push the hood back, and push it down with 2 hands to lock in the open position! I can hear you saying... WHAT? I bought my MX5ND partly because the roof was so quick and simple! The consequence of not doing it the "official" way? The leading edge of the roof can move forward over time, so that it scuffs the rollover hoops. And that scuffing can then wear the hood material. And in my case, created a small tear. A hole in the fabric of a convertible is not good news! My car is under warranty - and is currently awaiting a new roof which will be supplied and fitted by Mazda. There is a fix apparently - so worth making the mod before the roof gets damaged.
We really appreciate hearing from real owners, especially in cases like this! The convertible was incredible easy to use from the drivers seat but we would never know about how it can cause a misalignment over time from long term ownership. Thank you for the informative response!
I'm coming from an ND1 2016 Club soft top with Brembo brakes & BBS wheels - to a long awaited 2024 Club soft top with Brembo brakes / BBS wheels & Recaro seats. Worth the move up ? Yes but its the infotainment upgrades that has me impressed - Alexa voice commands directly to Google maps on screen ! Not expecting that. Alexa voice warnings of objects in the road 2 times already less than 300 miles on the odometer. As an older driver Dustin & Derek might not get how much it increases my safety in a small car. 🤔
