In the late 1980/early 90's, I disposed of my vinyl en-masse--including Japanese pressings/quads/audiophiles/colored vinyl, etc.mostly rock/prog but also 70's fusion. I've replaced everything with electronic copies. In about 2015, I disposed of hundreds of freaky cds. in the late 2000's I donated my father's '78s to a collector/friend. Glad to have passed them on folks who cared.
Nice to see the collector sorted his George Harrison and George Carlin in the "G" section. Sorting by first letter is the way to go, less thinking about where to file something.
@@noblerecords I think as long as you're consistent, its easy to find stuff. Personally I don't want to spend any time deciding if its a solo artist who should be sorted by last name. If you set the rule to be the first letter of the artist, there won't be a question, you'll know where it goes. That's my system!
Same here!....I don't really rate UK record shops, in general too much predictable new stuff and any old records seem to be overpriced and/or in poor condition...probably an over generalisation born out of frustration!
Kiss is dad rock but I grew up on it because of my dad so I have to like it lol. You also answered my question about promos always being white label or not so thank you for that!
Hi Dillon, chiming in from Australia. Can i ask, do you value promo copies? Are they more collectable, less so, or simply collectable in their own right? Thanks :)
It never stops my man great stuff Bang, Sir Lord Baltimore, Lonnie Liston Smith, Greenslade. That Garcia record looked super interesting I’ve never seen that one before. Can never go wrong with Sabbath. Take care Dillon, Cheers Snowy
Great news all around. Waiting for the video “Hey it’s Dillon. The store is now full so the online store will be up and running soon for all of you who are not in the CLT...”😎
Man that's so weird you'd show that Harold Vick record. I just sold my NM copy for $275....and boy do I wish I was local to your neck of the woods, some really great stuff!
Nice Haul 🤩 .Just out of interest ,what percentage of these collections you buy end up being doubles or triples of what you have already, Great Vid again .
Hey Dillan it’s Cosmic Brian I am hard on the trail of my lifetime grail ! It’s a vinyl copy of the band Tripping Daisy and the record is called I Am an Elastic Firecracker Do you have it by any chance? Peace ☮️
I am agonized seeing these albums ... not to have them but precisely because I have no interest in accumulating anything anymore. But I confess that I was curious about the Tempest cover ... if it's Jon Hiseman's Tempest, I never saw that cover. What album is this?
The Quiex II promos can be really good - unfortunately, The Nightfly sounds very flat and digital, even as a Quiex II promo. It is detailed, but not lifelike. Back in the early 60s, classical labels used to issue promo copies to stir up interest in back stock. Mercury favored gold-label promos, while American Decca liked pink and lime green promo labels. Interestingly, in the lyrics of "Surrender", the narrator's WWII-veteran dad has got "my Kiss records out"! So Dillon may be onto something....
A great bunch of records
I found a sealed copy of cecil taylor unit structures original mono on blue note at a goodwill a few years ago since you like blue note
Dillon holy Toledo Batman peach is a freakin amazing album
Lots of great stuff! What the story of that orange rock next to your couch?!?
Himalayan salt lamp.
@@noblerecords Very cool!
Man you really need to set up an online store on Discogs for the ones that don't sell right off
Great to see a little bit of The Honey Cone in there! Wish I had a shop like yours near me!
Looks like the previous owner had doubles of records he really liked and i do the same thing. That is a killer collection of good music.
Awesome! Tons of classic and hard to find albums!
You had me at "bluegrass musician"... Was hoping for a bluegrass drop.... I have a couple hundred and always looking for more !!
Man I messed up, I should have shown, there was a decent amount of bluegrass in there, I know you’re a doc Watson guy.
@@noblerecords Thats OK.... I will be out to check it out !!

Hmmmm never thought about it but that makes my brain hurt a little. It’s all about finding what you’re looking for, but that would drive me nuts

I file mine that way because discogs does
@@recordtime4750 yes, another good reason for this method
Hi Dillon omg I live in the wrong country, so many great albums there I'll never find where I live in England.

So we should email you a week from Saturday to see if stuff from this haul is available for shipping?

I sell so many records, it really doesn’t matter. I often have multiple copies but I’m fine with that
How's the classical section coming along?
