      My 2nd car, same, 4 spd, and awesome driving geometry, point and shoot steering, easy parking and manoeuvrability with the blocky design, fun to get up under it. Should never have sold it!

    My '13 GT500 hood shakes just like Mr. Johnson's when I'm driving on the autobahn. It looks like it is going to fly off at any moment. I have visions of flying up and blocking his and my vision at 260 KM/H! Fantastic video!

    Damn heartbreaking at the end, Tru Blu’s don’t have great luck on the mountain, but that thing was singing the song of my people for 5 laps there!

    These kind of cars are about all I race on Sim racing, and I can't for the life of me figure out how they perfectly modulate the break when heel and toe downshifting, I just can't do it without releasing the break a smidge, which I know upsets the balance, how do they do it?

  • @Virvum_Juggernaut

    For Christ’s sake that thing sounds evil. The cockpit engine note destroys the main game’s in-car sound and shits on NASCAR. The XD maxes out the speedo @260km/h well before The Chase. It pulls like crazy. Horrid noise when it let go. Man that was enjoyable.

      Top 350/351 are $50-$60k
      Dry sump, solid roller cam, alloy heads, single Holley 4 barrel, probably near 700hp (before the race wins start dropping the rev limit)

    • @scottjones1890
      @scottjones1890 Год назад

      No great difference to the 80's cars.
      Cam and carby and around 350-450 horses. There was an xa owned by Mrs tander that had 650hp and they de-tuned her every race.
      That car don't race anymore. It was the best one.

    Slowing for the Chase should not be necessary, plenty of road legal cars go through there flat and brake after.

    Steven was smooth on the upshifts, however his downshifts were a bit crunchy. I could understand when the gearbox protested, and Steven couldn't get the correct gear to slot in during one lap. Finesse Steven...Finesse the gears...

      Yeah, you'd reckon these blokes with their enormous combined knowledge of racing and this particular track would know better. Maybe instead of using real world experience they should watch this footage from their armchairs or just take notes from you.

    • @Deano.1978
      @Deano.1978 Год назад +1

      It's 2nd to 3rd that's short and 3rd to 4th long but I get your point (the H pattern in these boxes is different to a road car)
      It might be short so he doesn't get bogged down coming out of the cutting at Quarry's Cnr - many V8's short shift here to avoid wheelspin, if the ratio is shorter you can keep momentum in a big heavy car and reduce wheelspin - but you pay the price on Conrod.

    • @scottjones1890
      @scottjones1890 Год назад

      Did you not see the Speedo when he changed to 2nd? Between 110 and 120kmh. Pretty piss poor hey😂. You sir clearly have never owned, built or driven an xd/e or xf 351 manual.

    A) what does he have against drafting down conrod, B) why the hell didn't he pull off the road AND THE RACING LINE IN THE CHASE when his shit went fuck?

      B? Why the fuck would being on the racing line matter when there's no cars near him? Watch again champ, he's on the line at the chase and makes it to pit entry before he's passed! Steve's got better awareness in the moment than you do watching a replay!

    Shifts too early in higher gears and don't have the balls to stay standing on the bloody pedal when going up or down the windy hills. And at the end of the straight away coming out towards the straight before the last corner he shift from 2nd to 3rd way to early not giving it time to at least get peak rev before shifting. And yeah yeah I know everyone out there is gonna try have a go at me but honestly he could of drove that beast way better and I'm not knocking him. But just saying the truth. And by those dirty hard down shifts on the last minute we'll thats what caused the Tyers to blow out as there was alot of compression braking. Take it from me I know these things and just by looking at my profile pic you should know that I know it all. Anyway gotta take my prius in for a service tomorrow so yal have a good night

      You're not that smart, we can all see that you definitely don't know the Mount Panorama circuit. Many drivers short shift coming out of the Chase, it's to avoid getting sideways, so he shifted early and you thought he wasn't committed? You obviously have no idea about how an XD Falcon handles. SJ is a talented driver, these cars are getting rare and expensive and most TCM drivers don't take silly risks because parts are impossible to find new or even original, if they crash, it could mean one less historical race car on the road/track.
      SJ was penalized for being under weight and started from the rear of the pack. He was pushing hard and driving well apart from one missed gear which is easy to do even when not racing.
      At the risk of sounding repetitive, you're not that smart. I bet you're American, that's why you called Conrod straight the straight away, why add an extra word to going down the straight?

    • @Deano.1978
      @Deano.1978 3 года назад +1

      @@davidcarr2649 Agreed and the gearing ratio from 2nd to 3rd seems shorter than 3rd to 4th for that reason and coming out of the cutting
