I know that YT can often do a terrible job of converting HD footage for streaming, but this is a terrible advertisement for the VBOX 'HD' video quality. As someone potentially in the market for one, I'd want to know that the system is capable of publishing actual high-quality footage to social media sites.
The convenience and integration features are certainly nice, but when something like a Hero Session produces far better images, it forces a choice between convenience and quality that nobody wants to have to make...

Hi Mike, thanks for your comment. If you go to the settings icon on the Video and select 1080p then the quality will be much improved. Default when you start watching a video on YT is usually 480p. Also, as you mentioned there is an amount of compression applied by YT that needs to be taken into account. If you want to view the raw footage then please get in contact with us. Cheers.

Sorry, I should have mentioned that I'm talking about the 1080p content.
I appreciate that the original footage is likely to look a lot better, but a key part of a racing video solution is solid integration with platforms like YT, FB, etc, so clean export is critical. The compression and motion artifacts present in this content are a lot worse than you'd expect for a properly sorted export.
Compare, for example, this two generation / three year old effort by the GoPro guys: ruclips.net/video/WaJW7d4ZRgw/видео.html - integration is not their strong suit, but compare the motion artifacts / macroblocking under similar lighting & motion conditions. Or this newer but less well-produced effort: ruclips.net/video/Utr3EwPdw2U/видео.html

Something else that could also be considered as a fundamental part of a racing video solution which missed the mark in these links ... is content.
I'd rather watch an HD video of a sexy redhead hottie in just an old shirt compared to a slightly higher HD video of a donkey in a wedding dress.
