I made one in a smaller size...3.75". Hardest part was sewing the clasp...very tight area and you actually have to go in and under to secure visually. Thanks!

She is using a 4.5 mm hook with cotton aran yarn. Aran yarn is slightly heavier than worsted weight. These are size 4 (medium weight) yarn. You could use anything you want though since this pattern is based heavily on preference.

Trudy Thomas I bought he clasps on Amazon and just went to my local store for cotton yarn.
I could not grasp how you were sewing is it in and out threw the little holes on both sides
