scored a hatrick and still lost. no one is disputing Mbappe's quality but we are questioning whether he can do that consistently for decades like Ronaldo did. come back to me in say 15 years time & lets have this conversation again but until then Mbappe will never be as good as Ronaldo was becuase he was consistent with his greatness for such a long period, i'm sorry & i'm not even a Ronaldo fan i'm a Messi fan.

Let's face it, Ronaldo is a self centred glory hunter, as proven again in this tournament. You need a goal desperately, you've got Goncalo Ramos, Diogo Jota on the bench, and you won't come off to give these guys a chance, simply because YOU want the glory. As much as I love Jota as a LFC man myself, he does not fit Portugal.
Portugese team is set up to play with a target man at the 9. Neither Ramos nor Jota can do that, so they play with Ronaldo.

The difference in attitude and commitment between the 2 players was plain to see last night, one wanted to come off 15 MINUTES BEFORE a penalty shootout and didn't fancy it anymore because his nose was hurting & the other (almost 40 years old btw) you wouldn't of been able to drag him off that pitch even if you wanted to. this is why Ronaldo is a Goat and i don't see Mbappe ever reaching that level. Ronaldo and Messi have set the bar so high that even players of the calibre of Mbappe will find it hard to reach becuase they were consistent with their high levels of performance for decades and that had never been done before until those 2 came onto the scene. the longevity between those 2 players performing at such a high level for a long period of time will never be matched or surpassed!!
The only thing Mbappe has going for him is that he plays for a powerhouse nation so he's going to have a much easier time getting his hands on international trophies. He will never get anywhere near the level of success that Ronaldo had at club level.
