Steve, you should do a video about what to look for in “good” shoes. I’ve been looking at high-end flats, but I don’t want to pay a ton when they’re actually not worth it!
They’re usually not worth it. All glue and design but the actual quality is lacking. If you ever get the chance to go to Italy (Florence), you can still get amazing quality shoes without the designer price tag...
I agree! I’ve been eyeing off the gucci horsebit loafers, I own Gucci sandals and give them a thrashing with no issues but I’d be curious if the Gucci’s loafers are worth the cash!
Holy Crap. Not only did you revive an obscenely overpriced hyped brand-name pair of shoes back from the brink of death, you reinvigorated them with actual quality and craftsmanship. With the amount of work you put into those, one can now probably justify their MSRP with a straight face. You, sir, are a dedicated craftsman.
Because of You Steve, I stopped watching cute kitten and baby goat videos. You're a true Artist. I may do Graphic Design and T-Shirt designs, but you are da Man, Much, Much, Respect.
HI, STEVE!!! Baby, you gotta shake them haters off! I love watching you work, and I love the sound of the hammer, so there! You take cheap shoes that cost too much money and turn them into sturdy, longer lasting shoes! ¡BRAVO!
I agree. I cannot understand why any person would ever complain about the way he does his job ... the hammer noise, the rubber gloves, too much coffee, etc. Keep doing what you do!
These shoes, post repair, are what kings dream about. (At least, that is what I imagine.) Watching your videos are like talking with a friend. They also bring back childhood memories of my godmother’s dry cleaners/shop repair shop. Zeus was a delightful bonus! Thank you for inviting all of us into your creative space. 👞👠🧳🧵

Loving your authentic videos ! Please don’t change them. Fascinating to see how badly made they were originally, you made a great job of repairing them, especially the purple sole !
We never give much thought to shoes and the way they are made yet we wear them every day !! Always fun watching you bring old shoes back to life Steve .
Damn Steve , Why your hammer so loud ...Why dont you wear gloves...Why you don't wear a respirator. Holy Shit I guess you gotta move shop to the Library...The reason why Steve shakes a little bit is because he's trying to keep his balance because of all that money in his back pocket ....Hell send him a camera crew and some espresso. GREAT WORK STEVE
Paul Kissiah 🤣 I’m with you! Critics can feel free to buy him a studio, lighting, set up some sponsorship deals, and do the editing so the man can get some work done ✅

Got to take with a grain of salt.... it could be a troll, a 10 year old kid, or my grandmother that would not have any concept what youtube is an assumes that this is real TV. Can be someone just sharing a random thought without thinking about. What I am saying is that you just never know who comments on youtube and the reasons why. There a so many folks on the spectrum of reality lol.
Tell hammer boy to take a jump in the lake! You can not repair shoes without a hammer! Love to watch you work and listen to your stories! All the best, Edgar

Please don't let the nitpickers get to you. Opinions are like assholes, after all. You are a credit to not only your craft, but that of every talented craftsman out there still doing the jobs that most people forget exist. May the work continue to be plentiful - you deserve it.
Hey Steve, I think your videos are excellent! Very interesting, and educational. You’re what I would consider a, Master Cobbler! The restoration of footwear is truly, a work of art! And, please keep hammering! It would not be real cobbling if a hammer 🔨 was not involved! You deserve all the trophies 🏆 and awards that you’ve won. And, it’s so cool that you listen to classic rock music, while you work. I listen to the Eagle station out of Houston. I’ve been drinking coffee since I was 2 years old, that was 48 years ago. So, I understand that’s what it takes, to jumpstart your work day. Keep up your gifted craft, your customers are getting the best!
Another GREAT Video! You don't just show the job being done.....you teach about the job being done! That's why people come back to watch your videos over and over again!
I've been thinking about you for the last week and am glad to see you posting today. Haters gonna hate - forget those fools, Steve! Your loyal fans love what you do and appreciate you for real. Thank you.
This is such a lost art. In this day and age most people buy, wear, break and throw out......It is nice to know that people still want the things that they invest their money on repaired. Thank you for sharing your talent with all of us!
This has everything...the usual incredible skill, but in a longer even more enjoyable format, combined with occasional rants about gloves, shaking hands, and 'This is for that hammer guy'. Perfect! :)
Steve- I can't believe what you did for these shoes. You are the MASTER Craftsman! I googled the cost of these shoes at $8K. It takes a special craftsman to take a high quality shoe and make it better! You have a gift and it happens with every project you do! I can't wait to send you a project! Keep pounding the coffee and hammer! We love good coffee in Seattle!
My dad Howard owned a fishing tackle and grocery store in Brinnon Washington, he always had a pot of coffee on, but he would put fresh coffee in with the day before and the day before that etc, it was strong to say the least but all the loggers and fishermen friends of his wouldn't complain, they loved to stay and talk, I miss him. Great videos!! Really enjoy watching a master craftsman. Can't believe Tom Ford is cutting corners on a shoe costing thousands of dollars. Hope the customer was delighted. I would've been. 😊
My husband just paid $80 to repair shoes he originally paid $50 because we’re adopting a practice of repair instead of landfill. I feel better about it knowing he probably has better shoes now than when he purchased them.

One of the reasons Gibson went bankrupt. They over invested and had other issues but in recent years their guitars where found to be made of cheap materials and sub standard manufacturing. You do pay for the name in big name products but for the prices they charge they should be using premium materials and quality manufacturing without cutting corners.
Gah dayum that a good looking shoe. Willing to bet it looks better now than when it was brand new. Don't know why I'm watching these videos but I am hooked. Alright lets continue (me finishing a video and starting the next one)
Another great video showing your heartfelt, quality workmanship. You are a true craftsman, Steve. And don’t let the quirky and crazy questions and comments bother you. It’s easy for others to critique somebody else’s work. Just stay focused, keep your wit and humor!
Exactly.. poor sucker paid close to 10k for crocodile leather and a name just to pay another 400 for someone to reuse the crocodile and stamp the same brand in a new sole and make the shoes better than they were😂
@@DutchClawz - The real secret is that most designer brands aren't worth the premium in today's market (one impacted by inflation) -- you're always better off buying vintage or second-hand. TF suits in particular have got criticism due to essentially being a pseudo-retailer for Zegna suits.
Because of these videos I've started looking for shoes at garage sales, thrift stores, and anywhere else I can find a pair of second hand shoes then take them in to get resoled to give them new life and break them in for my feet.
As always, a fantastic job - I'm sure your customer is thrilled. I always manage to learn something even after watching a bunch of your videos, so thanks for being patient enough to explain everything. And there's always a good laugh in there too :) THANKS!
The shoes turned out great. I can't get over the fact that an expensive shoe had such a bargain basement construction. You turned them into a far superior quality pair of shoes. Great job as always. Regards Rowena 🇬🇧 I forgot to say that I think your dog is beautiful. He looks very tall when he jumped up. I'm only 5ft tall so he's probably as tall as me.

I'm mesmerized with your work and craftmanship and very unhappy when the job is finished. Can't wait for the next video. You calm me.
That’s insane that what are likely $2500+ shoes have a fake stitch and a glued on sole. Completely ridiculous.
xsharkilspotx careful dropping that name, they might bill you.
Made in China, I guess?
I wonder if the people who make Tom Ford shoes have seen this video yet.
Gonzalo Alonso Almost certainly made in Italy...but in one of the high volume, high margin factories.
One of the reasons Gibson went bankrupt. They over invested and had other issues but in recent years their guitars where found to be made of cheap materials and sub standard manufacturing. You do pay for the name in big name products but for the prices they charge they should be using premium materials and quality manufacturing without cutting corners.
Hi Steve! The purple color you created on the bottoms is FABULOUS! Great job! The shoes look awesome! Lets continue!
If i had a hammer,I'd hammer in the mornin, hammer in the evenin,All over this land !!! LOL
All over this shoe.....
Gah dayum that a good looking shoe. Willing to bet it looks better now than when it was brand new. Don't know why I'm watching these videos but I am hooked. Alright lets continue (me finishing a video and starting the next one)
My new favorite phrase. "Alright, let's continue."
Another great video showing your heartfelt, quality workmanship. You are a true craftsman, Steve. And don’t let the quirky and crazy questions and comments bother you. It’s easy for others to critique somebody else’s work. Just stay focused, keep your wit and humor!
Some $400 for a pair of shoes that probably cost a few thousand dollars and are now better than new is a freaking bargain. Well done.
Exactly.. poor sucker paid close to 10k for crocodile leather and a name just to pay another 400 for someone to reuse the crocodile and stamp the same brand in a new sole and make the shoes better than they were😂
@@DutchClawz - The real secret is that most designer brands aren't worth the premium in today's market (one impacted by inflation) -- you're always better off buying vintage or second-hand. TF suits in particular have got criticism due to essentially being a pseudo-retailer for Zegna suits.
I'm speechless to describe what you have always done. Your work is much better than the manufacturer. 🙋👋👌
Technically I suppose caffeine IS a chemical😉💕 Please keep all of the hammering noise. You could even make that part louder😀 Zeus is very handsome.😉
Love the finish and the touches. Great job. That should put a smile on the owners face 😃 That would do it for me although not a huge loafer fan.
Another masterpiece! Better than original.
Because of these videos I've started looking for shoes at garage sales, thrift stores, and anywhere else I can find a pair of second hand shoes then take them in to get resoled to give them new life and break them in for my feet.
What can I say? I like the hammering noise.
As always, a fantastic job - I'm sure your customer is thrilled. I always manage to learn something even after watching a bunch of your videos, so thanks for being patient enough to explain everything. And there's always a good laugh in there too :) THANKS!
Stay calm, ignore the perfectionists, be you
Just incredible Steve, I have got my husband watching and loving your videos now, you're just a craftsman 💙
The legend is back
The shoes turned out great.
