It's so nice to watch this game without the stress. This game led to numerous fights between me and my brothers. And I would usually get my butt whipped for having started said fight.

@Red Dog James yup lol more than twice as fast lol! There was also a glitch in the John Elway nes game that made one player ridiculously fast! He could run the entire field in 2 seconds lpl.

There’s somebody watching this video that has no clue how amazing this game was for its time.
One of the greatest football games ever. I always wanted the size of the players from this game to be in super tecmo bowl. Cause in super tecmo bowl the players look smaller. I guess it was due to them putting in short catch animations and fumbles and other lil things that they added.
And they added the correct amount of players.
11 players per side in Tecmo Super Bowl as opposed to 9 players per side in this game.

One of the best soundtracks on the nes yes a sports game has a soundtrack that rivals mega man 2 castlevania
Mario 2 and 3 Metroid etc with that soundtrack and it’s best nes game track record how can’t it top those franchises
Tecmo had a knack for killer tunes (remember that this is the same company behind Ninja Gaiden)
Ironically, Keiji Yamagishi composed the music for both games!

@@briangriffin5701 Most definitely. The downside with that is that playing against a human, Bo's run will be chosen every single time. And that's why the developer chose to go with the pro set formation with L.A. They're the only team on the game running that formation. But I definitely respect that decision to do so

Good stuff. I recently sold my old NES with about 30 games, got $400 for it. I did play a bunch of the games again just for nostalgia sake. Hated letting it go, but I never used it and it was just taking up space.
Im personally not ever selling any console I’ve owned throughout the years. Want to give all this stuff to my kids. Giving my kids these systems would be more worth it than money to me

Unfortunately Madden still has the license for simulation football, so it has to be arcadey enough for EA's lawyers wouldn't come after it
I remember my brothers and their friends playing this game and having a tussle over who cheated or who played dirty or who wouldn’t quit hogging the better players/teams, etc.

If you sniff it out soon enough, you can get a couple yards scrambling, but most of the time yeah. Throwing it is asking for a pick six.

Omg I grew up with this game, but man I don’t remember it being SO crappy like this? It was amazing to me and everyone I played with at that time we ALL loved it, but wow this is awful!! I remember in game cut scenes sometimes happening during good plays or good tackles?? Maybe it was Tecmo Bowl 2 I was playing instead if there actually was a second tecmo game on nes??
That was Tecmo2 with the injury report, and cut seasons, when you could cause someone to fumble.

You're probably thinking of Tecmo Super Bowl, which was the sequel. This is the original. TSB improved a lot of little things in the game and it's much more fondly remembered.

Why do you insist in running in-between the tackles on Run2 when clearly your lane is along outside? You avoid more defenseman that way. Also, when you are playing with NY on defense, you need to select LT. He is the fastest on the team and can help stop Bo Jackson and Walter Peyton.

just in time for the upcoming super bowl LIV which i don't know about you guys but i would rather play this game on the nintendo switch online service then watching the actual super bowl due to not being the biggiest football fan nor the biggiest sports fan in general in my honest opinion but this game to me is like the perfect example which you don't have to be the biggiest football fan nor sports fan in general just to like tecmo bowl and you don't even have to play football in real life or any sports for that matter just to play a sports video game like this if you ask me which i guess you can say im not a very atheletic kind of guy to be perfectly honesty which im the kind of person who gets lazy and play video games all day and not go outside alot and this game is no different just staying home on my bed and play tecmo bowl on the switch in portible mode which i guess you can also say its my way to play so insert nintendo switch commercial slogan reference here lol and people who are not legit gamers say playing video games all day is bad for you which im looking at you overprotective parents out there am i right ?
In the later games of this series, an NFL license and NFLPA license was included. In addition, the team playbooks became a bit more complicated. Of course, the simple fun gameplay is still there.
Tecmo Bowl is way better than the recent Madden Games cuz Tecmo cared about the players unlike Fucking EA
